Needed to make 10 keys for padlocks that lock our trash bins. Called this place after Smokey's Smoke and Lock only had 5 keys. Locks Etc. quoted me a price of, get this, $7.50 per key. I just had the same keys made at Sawtelle Key & Lock (unfortunately closed today) at $4 a key. Need I say more? They may be a good mobile service but you definitely do not want to have keys made here. Just another gouger in this ripoff city. read more

Had a great experience. Lots of locksmiths can be scammers, but the guy who came to my place had 30+ years of experience (or at least he told me he did), and was super nice. Gave a me a decent price for a lock repair (and spare key printing) that was cheaper than another place that I called that was close by. If I ever have issues again I would go back. read more

Had an issue with a door closer at my building and reached out to Locks Etc. They were super responsive--once I sent them a picture of the problem, they quickly provided a quote and had a technician out that same afternoon. Diego and his team are clearly very experienced; they diagnosed the issue right away and had it fixed in no time. You can tell Diego knows his craft. Excellent service, fair pricing, and fast turnaround. Highly recommend to anyone needing locksmith services! read more

I needed to have a deadbolt and doorknob urgently replaced, saw recommendations for Locks Etc on my local neighborhood group page. I spoke with locksmith Diego, who asked me to text photos. Diego provided a quote, and his availability. Because the estimate seemed fair (was less than what my neighbor said they had paid for a similar service), I did not call anyone else to check prices Diego was fast, professional, and did an excellent job I would recommend him to anyone read more

I lost my mailbox key and needed to do a copy. I went to the Keyme machine at RideAid, it would charge me $9.99 for 1 copy but none of my payment cards worked. Went to home depot, the machine was down. Finally decided to look into Yelp and found this nice little place right by my work. It literally took 2 minutes. The guy did 2 copies of the key for me and the price was half what was the machine at rite aid charge for 1!!! YELP INSIDER TIP FROM DOREEN (AKA AZN PERSUASION): Fast and friendly service in a strip mall with a 7-11, photo store, and some eateries. ***** Over the years, I've only had to come here once or twice to get keys copied. It's $2 a key for a house key. The business is SMALL. It is the size of a closet or handicap bathroom. It's tucked into the corner so it might be hard to miss. Free parking in the strip mall. Usually there is no wait. They also sell key accessories and different types of decorated keys. read more

First off, as of 1/25/2021 They are open for business. The Yelp claims that they may be out of business are false. I have been using Locks Etc for many years and I only have great things to say about them. They are knowledgable and professional and very friendly. They have been in business for more than 25 years serving our community. They are simply the best place to get keys made if you want it to work right the first time. If you look at my other reviews I rarely give out 5 stars but these guys have earned it for the more than the 16+ years I have used them. Ask for Diego or Hugo! read more

Diego is amazing!! I called him to replace our broken door handle which has been broken for 5 years. After multiple locksmiths, not one could help us. Not only was Diego super friendly and nice, the quality of service was top notch! He advised that we might need to shave our door, as it's hard to open the door sometimes.. which ultimately resulted in us breaking our door handle from pulling so much. Would definitely recommend him! Thanks again Diego! You the best. read more

Diego has been servicing my entire building for over a decade - as the president of my HOA I trust our security issues to him alone! I usually call him throughout the year so I don't see him in person. But when I needed to change my own door locks, I was happy to spend some face time with him : ). He initially told me that he would be here in a few hours, but then called me back and said he had a change of plans and was on his way. Yay!! Ever charming, he got my job done and took the time to have some warm chitchat and then he was gone in about a half hour. One of my neighbors happened to mention that the front gate was difficult to open with her key - that she needed to jiggle it a bunch before it would open - so he adjusted that too! Not only is Diego a reliable and reasonably priced locksmith, he also is a pleasure to talk to. Call him and give him a try, and you'll see what I'm talking about! read more

I tried to replace the battery on my Honda key myself and ended up stripping the screw. No one around me could unscrew it, not even with the help of liquid wrench... so on a last ditch effort, I brought my key here... and in 5 minutes he removed the screw and gave me a new battery! All for $5! Thank god too, I'm so used to using the alarm to unlock my doors that by even when I manually locked my doors I ended up leaving my doors unlocked. I was referred to LOCK Etc by another local locksmith who did not offer automotive key-fob services. I called, spoke with "Hugo" and he quoted me $40 for a new key-fob (including programing). Lock Etc is on the southeast corner of Motor Avenue & Venice Boulevard - in the little complex with 7-11. *"Hugo" said he would update the YELP page with the correct phone number. Highly recommend. Diego had a positive friendly attitude and provided great service today in helping an elderly neighbor who was locked out get back into his home. Great place to purchase lockbox and remotes also. Keys are made to work every time I get copies for my house and others.

Knight in white van to the rescue! Locked yourself out of your house? No keys to your car? No wallet to take a taxi anywhere to get help? Call A Locksmith Locks! I called an 888 referrals service who didn't understand me, had to refer me to someone without giving me a clear estimate of the time and cost of an ER visit to my home. So, I called Locksmith Locks in Culver City. Diego answered the phone quickly this morning, he was clear about the fees and that it was a $5 charge for credit cards (he does take them). He was professional, arrived in the quoted time, and quickly was able to get me back inside my house where I left my purse, wallet, keys, etc. He also checked my photo ID to make sure I wasn't using him to rob my own humble home with nothing worth stealing in it except my heart. :) 15 minutes after he left, the other 888 company sent out someone without having spoken to me nor giving me a quote. Ugh! Thank God I found Locksmith Locks, Etc. Thank you Diego!!!! read more

This place is amazing! Got 4 keys made super fast for $10 total. Don't even waste your time with one of those robot key-making kiosks, who will probably get hacked and sell your key print to thieves. This dude knows his craft and he can get it done quick. Thanks! read more

I suddenly remembered, after forgetting several times, that I needed work done on a lock. I called this locksmith. The shop telephone apparently transferred to the owner's cell phone. I told him what I wanted, and he said he would be over in 15 minutes. 15 minutes! That's faster than pizza. He arrived on time as promised. He did the work extremely quickly, at a reasonable price, and I should note, with a very nice personable nature. This is an excellent locksmith. If you need one, look no further. Call him and the pizza guy at the same time and see who gets there first. My money is on the locksmith. read more

I'm not sure what else there is to say about this place, except that it cost me $2 (cash only) to get a replacement key to my apartment. I lost my key and had to find a quick and affordable place to go. And well, this was it! Don't expect a full-on customer service/over the counter experience, but you will get in and out of the place pretty quickly. I asked for 2 copies for my key and it came out to $4. The parking lot is small, but it's still doable to find space. The business shop is located in this small corner of the plaza sandwiched between the restaurant businesses. There's no place you can sit down or relax, so if there's a small line that forms (which there was when I went), you'll just be standing outside for some time. The keys work great so I have no complaints about this place! read more

Super quick service. No mess, no stress. My most recent visit, I needed my cracked Honda remote key duplicated. Highly recommended! Made an appointment to replace the mailbox key for my apartment and he was very timely with his arrival. He called me to tell me he was downstairs, and before I even put on my shoes to meet him, the lock had been opened and replaced! Ridiculously amazing speed and customer service. Diego was very helpful. He made several sets of keys for us and one set worked, the others didn't. The door the not working keys were for was a bit tricky even with the original key. Great to work with! I locked myself out of my house and was looking for someone quick and reasonable. Thanks to Yelp I called these guys first. Luckily the locksmith was 10 minutes away from my house! 10 minutes later he was there and opened my door in under a minute! So great, very friendly, and $60 seemed pretty reasonable to me (my friend had called 1 other place and they said $75), so I felt ok about that price. The guy also checked my ID to make sure it was my house, so that was nice as well :) Would definitely call them again! read more

Last night I took my key off my keychain with me when I went for a run around the neighborhood. I left the apartment later that night to goto my girlfriend's house, with my keychain in pocket, as always. Only this time I forgot to put my ket back on the keychain. This morning around 8:30am I realized I could not get back into my place to get ready for work. I first called this place because it was the first locksmith I saw on Yelp in my area, but it was not open yet. I proceeded to call other places that began quoting me at $75, which seems absurd, as my door is a simple handle lock, and I knew it would take 20 seconds to open for a locksmith. At 9am I got a call from Diego saying he saw a missed call from this number. I told him my story and that I was in the area. I also told him that I was quoted too high, and was instead going to wait for my landlord to come out later today, since I had my laptop in my car, and didn't NEED to get in right away. He saw an opportunity and offered to send his guy out for $50. Sold. Hugo came out within 10-15 minutes, was friendly, and opened the door as expected in less than 20 seconds. Hope I don't have to use them again, but if I do lock myself out I will be calling Diego back. read more
