$495.00 for a lock!!!!! I needed to get the security gate lock fixed at my dads house. He has just recently passed away, so I should probably not have made any decisions like this. I needed the double dead bolt replaced and ended up with a knob lock and the screen door won't even close. Almost $1,200.00 for their work and I'm looking to have it re-done. His technician David showed up within 30 minutes and was faced with a very difficult job. Standard house door locks are made better today than ever so if you can't find your spare key or sneak in a window, you will need an expert. Don't hesitate! Yes, I did something stupid like locking myself out of my house, and after I checked for a missing spare key, felt like an absolute idiot! What David faced was an almost impossible to get through Kwikset Smartkey at the back door. If he passed on it, go get one and don't forget to hide the spare! Our second choice was an older Kwikset 600 Series at my front door that was tough enough to break two "bumper keys", defeat his lock picks, and break two titanium drill bits! From the efforts I saw, this lock defeated a professional for over a half hour for only around $20! This has got to be the best lock for the money. This is a late review, the work was done in early 2023, but the tech was so good I have to leave this review. I lost my only key fob for my 2013 Prius. The tech came within an hour, and once he verified that I was the legal owner of the car, he unlocked the door and began a process that seemed right out of a "Mission Impossible" film.
