STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY! WARNING! He pretends to have multiple technicians in his business but this is a 1 man show, he answers the phone n shows up onside pretending to be someone else, but he gave me his name, Matthew both times on the phone n onsite...weirdo... Anyhow, 1st call to him I explained precisely that I had lost my key fob, but had my keys to enter the car, I just needed a new sonata 2017 key fob to start my car, that it all...he kept bringing other issues to could affect the cost, car battery ect...I repeated new programmed key Fob, that's all I needed.. he mentionned should be between 100 n 200 ,I asked what is the max he would charge, he got defensive and accused ne of haggling him, i said i just wanted to know the max , no surprises, so I can determine if i wanna go ahead n book him, he kept evading the question.., that was the red flag ..I should have ended the call,but hubby insisted we get on with it, as my car was parked at my job site... Matthew shows up to the site a little late, drives around instead of calling me, making me stand in the street middle in the freezing night to flag him down...then after telling him again i just needed a new key fob, he blows the cost off the roof completely at $420..when a locksmith keeps evading answering a question about the cost n gets defensive, you know he will overcharge you, n why did he avoid answering the orecise cost? Cause he knows the final cost is high, thats why he didn't mention it the 1st time, right? $265 FOR AFTER MARKET KEY FOB, $95 to program it, $29 for his time,15mn total. .. he said his time to come out was free and he was doing this job out of kindness of his heart, $29 is not free, $420 total is far from free but whatever...again, weirdo n delusional now... oh, he mentionned the call he took from me costs him 50 bucks, for google ads, whatever, why mention that....your business decisions, not mine... I work at UPS n told everyone I know about the 400 dollar key fob n everyone screams Scam!! Everyone!!! Is everyone cheap? He called me cheap after I questionned the cost... I paid cause hubby wanted the night be over n send his ugly ass home but please people, call a different locksmith next time, it s your hard earned money, at least give it to an honest person. I said thanks for bailing me out, had he said the cost was 400 cause it s at night n an emergency, fine...but to start the convo with a completely difference cost then blow it up afterwards with no warning, that's a Scam.. call it what it is... read more

This guy was so creepy he talked to me so quickly like I know anything about locks he said the cost would be around 358 I thought that was reasonable expensive but okay. Then he ended up charging me over $900. Beyond that he kept making sexual advances and I was extremely uncomfortable. I just paid him to get done. But then when I called back because he created a fire hazard with his locks he became extremely aggressive towards me and insulted me. I needed a couple extra keys to a GX 460. The dealer wanted about $400 each for OEMs. I called around to a couple locksmiths and they were less but not much. Matthew suggested a couple knock offs, and said they would work fine and would save me some money. The keys work great and I saved myself $100's of $$$. It was still expensive, but the keys for new cars have all kinds of electronics/codes/whatever. Anyway, Matthew got it done for a very fair price, plus he's a nice guy. read more
