Would give negative stars if I could. I had a very concerning experience with this company and would strongly advise others to proceed with caution. I explicitly asked the technician to assess all of my locks and provide pricing before doing any work. I stepped away briefly to manage other contractors on site, and within minutes he claimed he had already "completed" work on two doors--without my authorization. The "work" consisted of spraying WD-40 into the locks, after which I was told I owed $80 per door. When I called the company to address this, the situation escalated further. Instead of taking accountability or trying to resolve the issue, whoever was on the phone became verbally aggressive and used inappropriate language toward me. At no point was there any attempt to handle the situation professionally. Not sure if it was the owner or someone else working for them. The technician also blamed the owners behavior "Beacuse they are Israeli", which was disgusting since I am Jewish and that has absolutely nothing to do with the situation. This experience was extremely upsetting, showed a clear lack of communication, consent before performing work, and basic customer respect. Beware of this locksmith. Very unprofessional. Just submitted a Yelp request for a locksmith. Within a few minutes I received numerous responses and estimates. The only additional information needed from me was the lock type and a picture of the lock. My personal address was never requested from the other locksmiths (until we settled on a price). I received 4 calls from Matthew and one VM an hour later. I finally answered the last call, and was greeted by a woman who said she needed to verify my address. I asked her the name of the company several times and she only stated "locksmith" each time. I even verified the name "only locksmith?" And she confirmed. This was confusing enough and elusive. I believe, based on the timing and the manner in which I was greeted that this business was trying to usurp my other appointment. Job poach. While on the phone with this lady, I confirmed with the other locksmith, via text, that this was not his office. Once I received confirmation that it was not, I told the lady on the phone I already had an appointment and ended the call. I called Matthew back to let him know that I felt his tactics were questionable, but he was defensive and interrupted me several times. This guy has personal issues and is unprofessional. I attached a copy of our text messages so you can witness the level of unprofessionalism. Buyer beware Sidebar: I used Belmont Locksmith, who were very professional. BTW, this was not an emergency as Matthew asserts. This was done through the Yelp bid process. Don't trust this guy. I never called him to come over but he came to my house to change the locks. He was looking for my ex-wife which I had a temporary domestic violence restraining order on her. My ex-wife is not living at my house and she was not living at my house at the time he came over. When I asked for documentation, he was running off hiding from something. To begin it is a pain to get connected because the number available online is through a call center. However once you get through and manage to get a locksmith to contact you, that's where the experience differs from person to person. I was fortunate enough to get Matthew as my locksmith technician. To start off he is very friendly and informative on what he has to do to get the job done. He was fast and explained everything before he started on the process of completing the job. Contractually by the company he works through, he had to give me a price when he got there. The price was around $200 but remember this was an emergency and I understand that beggars can't be choosers , as well as that's not his pricing but the company he works through. We lost our 2 car keys in Disneyland. It was a horrible end to our trip. We had to attempt to get 2 cars rekeyed and turned to yelp for help. A woman called from a Oklahoma number and I was eerie to have someone come without a quote over the phone but gave the address. Well, he def didn't inform me that this would also screw over the programming for the OEM spare key we have. Now it doesn't work and we have this key that's already giving us issues. Had the most amazing experience with lockout locksmith and with Matthew. Came home last night at 12 AM and for some reason could not unlock my front door to my house! For two hours I tried to solve the situation and problem by myself but to no avail! Finally, I realized I needed a locksmith, but by now it was 2 AM! Anyhow, 1st call to him I explained precisely that I had lost my key fob, but had my keys to enter the car, I just needed a new sonata 2017 key fob to start my car, that it all...he kept bringing other issues to could affect the cost, car battery ect...I repeated new programmed key Fob, that's all I needed.. he mentionned should be between 100 n 200 ,I asked what is the max he would charge, he got defensive and accused ne of haggling him, i said i just wanted to know the max , no surprises, so I can determine if i wanna go ahead n book him, he kept evading the question.., that was the red flag ..I should have ended the call,but hubby insisted we get on with it, as my car was parked at my job site... Then he ended up charging me over $900. Beyond that he kept making sexual advances and I was extremely uncomfortable. I just paid him to get done.
