EG Locksmith - Ely opening my car bc I left my keys inside. - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me

I called this locksmith at 3:43pm and was told 20-25 minutes. The locksmith showed up at 4:55pm. (They kept telling me he was nearby). He tells me he needs to replace my lock and can do it in 5-10 minutes. He goes to his car. 30 minutes later, I have to go find him at his car to see what the hold up is. He is just sitting there. He comes back with a lock that is a different color than my hardware, which won't work at my complex. He never told me he didn't have the right lock. He goes to get the right lock, and it takes him over 1.5 hrs (even though he is just going down the street). He finally replaces the lock. He leaves debris and trash all over my floor ... he literally threw the packaging and old screws on the ground and just left it all there. He doesn't screw in one piece of the lock. I pay him what I promised, despite the wait and trash. I ask him for a receipt. He goes back to his car and another 20 minutes go by, and I have to find him again. Again, he's just sitting there. He gives me the receipt. I cleaned up all his trash, but I ask him to put the proper screws in- another 20 min. Finally, by 7:20pm, 3.5 hrs after his start time, he has finished. It looks like shit. Being locked out of your house is stressful enough... and this company made is 100x more stressful. I would urgently not recommend using them. Just call one of the other locksmiths on Yelp/Google. read more

DISHONEST. came to my home without speaking to me first. I was expecting someone named Joseph. when I asked if he was that person, he lied and said his name was Joseph. He tricked me. he stuck a tool in the bedroom door to release the lock and then charged me to " fix" the lock. he said he would take the lock apart. which he never did.. this is the most dishonest service I have ever received. this 73 year old woman was clearly taken advantage of. when I questioned the the charges, he told me he gave me a " consultation" on how to release the lock. I was charged for a service that was not done, and I was lied to by Eli. the invoice read " release and fix lock". the lock was NOT fixed. dishonest and very sneaky too! he also demanded to be paid in cash which was not discussed before he did the work. got locked out of my car and called. no ballpark estimate over the phone; i was told i would be given a free quote when they arrive. waited little over an hour and the the tech arrived. he told me cost. i found it unfair to wait that long and then be told a steep "take it or leave it" price. nevertheless the tech was able to get my car door unlocked by snagging out my car keys out of my locked car. to get your car door unlocked, you're looking at about $200 plus service fee of $29. this is considering i requested their service at about 930pm in a Target parking lot. and it was a day before Thanksgiving. again, seems steep as it wasn't the holidays, yet. The 24/7 service and acceptance of Venmo and cash are helpful, but i wish along with a more fair price there was a receipt written and given. so if you're reading this and you are locked out, i do recommend, if possible, waiting during regular business hours and checking up with other locksmiths to see if they can give you a fair price before they make the trip. or have a spare key accessible and make a Uber/Lyft round-trip. or get Triple A. also, whoever manages this Yelp page, you might want to update your From This Business: pricing for unlocking a car door is not that amount, which i assumed was that price a few years ago. read more

Locked ourselves out of the bathroom and couldn't find the key. After coming to the realization that knocking down the door would've a terrible idea, I took to yelp to find a locksmith. This was around 12:30 AM and I called everywhere to find someone who can get the door open early enough so I could get ready for work. After being quoted for more than $80 and many locations telling me they couldn't be at my house until 9 AM, I started losing hope and was ready to call out for the day. I was reluctant to find Eli who picked up my call around 1:15 AM and quoted me $60 and informed me that he would be at my house around 6 AM. Around 5:50 AM I received a call from Eli letting me know he is on the way and he arrived shortly after 6. Eli went straight to work and got the door open in less than 5 minutes. Thank you for answering the phone and coming out to my house to help on Easter Sunday! After flying back from Hawaii, my key broke off in my deadbolt. Ely answered the phone, gave me a quote for price of worst case scenario if I had to replace the whole lock and rekey, but said he would try to fish the broken part of the key out of the lock first. He came out to my house and called in advance to confirm I was ready for him to stop by. When he arrived, he looked at it, said the quote again, and I agreed. He was able to pull out the broken part of the key from the lock, and we confirmed the lock was not damaged at all and could still be used. That's honesty. After 2 hrs late on scheduled day, he tells me we can reschedule for next day. I say NO we need locks changes today (which is why I set appt in first place). Hello All , Don't at all ever take their services ,This company and the locksmith guys will just try to steal your money and very unprofessional ,I had a recent experience with them ,My Car was locked and I called them for an unlock service ,They sent a guy about an hour later as compared to what they promised ,The call center guy told that it will be 35+ some charges based on how complex it will be to open car ,When this guy came without my consent he Immediately started working saying its 160 plus service feed, Can you imagine without even seeing what he needs to do he just said 160 ,So that means they wanted to hide the true intensions by just saying initially 35 dollars and later on just come with any such number ,He tried to use the situation I was in as I was waiting to go to office and he was knowing I am in a bad situation . The work which was a max 50 dollars (Because I checked with another lock smith for the same work) .I am not sure the name of the guy who came but this came on my CC statement read more

I set up appointment with this company for changing my locks. 30 mins before the appointment, the owner text me he won't be able to show up! I had to call another Locksmith who charged a lot of money because it was emergency!!! Stay away! Horrible customer service!!! Obviously the owner will not even apologize... So Eliseo G. Did let me know at 9:10am that he will not make it to the appointment at 9:30am, appointment which was scheduled 24 hr before... By far the WORST service I've encountered! I had my purse stolen last week so my keys were inside my purse so I needed a locksmith to come and change my locks. Eli comes and changes the locks. When I see that it was done incorrectly (knob falling off, extremely hard to lock from the outside) I called back and he did not answer. I called the business 4 times and spent at least 10 minutes each time with them with rude operators saying that someone called me when they didn't. Last call I got a manager and they were dialing the wrong number. They tried to tell me they could not come until the next day but I did not feel safe having my locks not fixed. Finally someone comes around 9pm and supposedly fixes it, again. Yesterday the knob fell off again and I been calling all of their numbers but one 949 number belongs to someone who's never even heard of the company and the number on Google does not pick up. I paid $150 for this half a$$ service and now I have a lock on my door that does not work and I cannot get a hold of anyone. Please someone in this company answer your phones or I will sent my complaint further with the BBB and beyond! read more

This is a zero-star rating, and it's no accident. After I called Quick Pick Locksmith Services from their website at http://quicklocksmith247.com/# they sent me a locksmith whose basic charge for showing up - per the site - was $19. Fine, I thought, for the time to come to my house. The locksmith who came, came from EG Locksmith - website www.eglockandkey.com - went to work on the new front door lock I had already purchased and with a little wood drilling and adjustment he got it to work. Very well, in fact. Then, at my request, he reset the bolt lock above it so I could use the same key for both locks. Swell, I thought. I needed 10 copies of this new key so he made me 8 additional copies to add to the two original copies that came with the lock I had bought independently. Fine. Maybe that all took an hour. Then, I thought I should perhaps reset the three locks on my back door as well, so one key worked for them all. So the locksmith took those off my back door and reset those locks for the same key, and reinstalled them. Now we're done. Total time, 2 hours. With 8 new keys at maybe $5 each and $19 for the basic service call, let's see, together that's about $60 bucks. So at $100 an hour for the locksmith's direct time, I figured my total bill would be about $240-260 bucks. Wrong. Try $200 per hour for his direct time, like on an annual 2000 hour work year he would be earning $400,000 a year. Give half back for the office costs of the phone bank and company that sent him and he's still pulling in $200,000 per year. The bill he handed me to pay, two hours after he arrived, was for $440. The invoice for the $440 he handed me, and for which he requested my signature, said "I have read and agree to pay the charges quoted above, SERVICE AUTHORIZATION." But he never gave me the invoice to consider BEFORE I "authorized" the $440 in charges. Only AFTER he had spent the two hours of his time. I paid the bill, because I did not confirm in advance what, step by step, each charge might be. Companies like EG Locksmith, and web-based phone banks like QUICKLOCKSMITH247, count on "trusting" people like me to exploit them at ever opportunity. And I'm sure they have a lot more "tricks" than they used on me. That's why I would never recommend to anyone that they call QUICKLOCKSMITH247, with its deceptive $19 charge showing on the website for a basic service call and evaluation. Or, any company like E.G. Locksmith. The next time you need a locksmith, you don't need a service that costs $200 per hour, the equivalent of a $400,000 salary per year. You can get a brain surgeon, or the governor of California, to fix your door lock for less than that. Honesty? Integrity? That's only possible when you tell your customer the cost of what they're planning to buy BEFORE they buy it. Good luck. read more
