So is business ethics and honesty. This company has no consideration for the actual needs of their customers or for providing fair value for money spent. I called them to come to my home and assist with automotive locksmith services. Prior to having them come out, I told them I had a quote from another service company, and I explained the specific nature of the problem I was having. The technician that came to our home was unable to complete the task. The computer needed to be by-passed as I had lost my last set of keys and the technician had been told that was the case. For some time, I had been driving the car with just a set of keys. I had also explained that I had already been quoted a price by another company and was only interested if they could do it for less. In the end, the technician was unable to program the keys but still charged me for the keys that he had made in the beginning by picking the lock on the car. The keys cost me almost 3x the price he had guaranteed. I told the technician that he had promised me the lower rate and that I was no better off from the standpoint of having a car I could drive. After the technician left, I called D&M on four different occasions to express my frustration and dissatisfaction. These are people that hide behind their call center. They never called me back. In the end, I still had to have the car towed out of my garage and taken to the Mazda dealership where they had absolutely no trouble programming the two keys D&M provided. Lousy company. Rotten service. Unethical business practices. DO NOT CALL these people.

These guys are aggressive crooks and have been…read morereported to Fullerton PD. --- I called because my older neighbor needed help finding a locksmith to open a locked standard door. Called the number from yelp (909) 281-5005 and was told that a technician would be contacting me back with additional information and an eta. I asked that he contact my neighbor (as it is her house) and proceeded to provide her phone number, name and location address. 10 minutes later (958am), I get a call (he was supposed to call my neighbor) from the "technician" (562) 254-5221 saying that he would be here in 20 minutes. He then asks "Is she Asian? Is she waiting outside? How will i know which house?". He refuses to give an ballpark estimate via phone so I confirm her address and inform him that she is his point of contact and she is waiting for him. 2 minutes later (10am), I call the dispatch number to again confirm that we'd be getting an estimate and to confirm that a check would be an acceptable form of payment. I was assured that it would be fine so we waited for the technician. The technician arrives in a light blue/grey Prius, wearing a white t-shirt and black joggers without any identification) at 1045am and proceeds to the back of the home with my neighbor where he does not give her an estimate and opens her door. He then tries to invoice her for $279 without the estimate being given first. My neighbor comes over to get me and says that the technician will not accept check (after it had been verified over the phone and via texts sent at 1007am). I go to the back of the house and ask why work was done without approval and why it was so expensive. We never agreed to the service that was performed at the price and he was adamant about being paid. I immediately called the service center at 1049am and was told a manager would be calling me back. None called. Instead, the technician argued with us in the street and called his supervisor who tried to lower the price to $180. We refused and added that we'd be calling the authorities for assistance. Suddenly, they agree to $100. Since our neighbor just wants the door open and for the person to leave, she offers to pay but they insist on cash only. My neighbor now had to leave to get the cash to pay. As she leaves to get the cash (while we are waiting at her home for her), the technician proceeds to follow her to the bank (this is extremely dangerous for so many reasons). The neighbor realizes that he's followed her to the bank so she asks him to go inside with her for her safety. At first, he refused but decided to go in because she would not pay him till she felt safe. --- All in all, this was a complete shakedown and scam. How does service to unlock one bedroom door go from $279 to $100 in cash? How does the approval for payment via check suddenly change to cash only? And why are you following an elderly neighbor to the bank??? AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

The very nice gentleman on the call told me that the fee to come out would be $15, and gave me an estimated quote of about $35 to pop open the car itself. Of course, depending on the type of car I had, maybe the price would go up or down. I don't drive some complicated high end car with crazy locking mechanisms-- I don't even drive a vehicle manufactured in this decade, so I figured that a $50 fee for fumbling my keys sounded about right. It was even a holiday-- maybe they'd tack on a few more dollars for the inconvenience. Sucks, but okay, that's fair. What I didn't expect was getting charged $200 to open up my fourteen year old car AND THEN an additional $20 charge for showing up, well over five times the price I was quoted (AND an extra $5 that was contradicted the fee they told me before.) I was so utterly taken aback and shocked that I didn't know what to say, didn't want to kick up a fuss in front of someone who had already shown up on my doorstep while my groceries melted in the back, and didn't even ask for a name until half an hour later, when I was like, "What the hell just happened??" It took him less than 5 minutes to open up my car. I really don't know what to say. I was so surprised that I agreed to the charge, and I'll pay it since that's what I signed for. (OVER TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS. I could have probably kicked in one of my windows and had it replaced for less than that.) I'm not some cheapskate unwilling to pay people for their services. But I wish they weren't so deceptive about the quotes, and have to wonder if they lowball you on purpose so they can surprise you with a much higher charge on the spot. The person who opened my car kept emphasizing that my insurance will cover the charge if I file a claim. Maybe my insurance will, maybe they won't, and maybe they'll use that as an excuse to jack up my rates-- I'm still waiting to hear back from them. But that's really not the point. Maybe I can help someone else avoid an experience like mine.
