Unkind and unfeeling. Certainly could have patched my tire but told me it was trash. Sold me an $80 dry rot tire.

I'll have to make this short for right now but wow, just wow. This shop saved my butt. They were super quick, efficient, no B.S., removed a screw and patched the hole, even rotated my tires. They saved me hundreds of dollars and hours of headache because these tires are expensive and, supposedly, difficult to get. These guys do their job, and they do it well. I came in because I had issues with the tire pressure on my left passenger back tire. They were able to identify that there was a nail on it, removed it, and patched up the tire and ready to head out. I only rated them 3 stars because while the service was great, I was a bit uncomfortable that the employees weren't wearing masks on the job. I just don't want something to happen where someone gets sick and the whole business has to shutdown. I want them to continue to provide good service to their customers. read more

Sadly, I would need to rate my experience with them as a 2 out of 5. I went to Lockhart to get my car inspected. I made an appointment. Since they are open until 4, I had to drop my car off after hours. When I get there, there is no envelope provided to keep all of the documents together. I had to drop my key into the Keydrop slot and then drop a separate piece of paper with my contact information on it. The next day, I didn't hear from them until I called them around 3:00 in the afternoon. Pete advised that my emissions light was still on and that a potential purge valve filter would be needed. I was advised to drive my car for another 40-50 miles to see if the check engine light would come back on. It did and I had to take my car back to their shop another time after hours. I had to call them AGAIN to determine what the problem was. They ordered the Purge Valve Filter and kept my car for 2 days. Once I got the Purge Valve Filter installed I had to drive my car again for another 40-50 miles to make sure that was the problem. The light never came back on so I had to go BACK to their shop a third time to have my official sticker placed. I made an appointment to drop my car off again after hours on Tuesday. I did not receive a call on Wednesday as expected. When I called again at 4:30 the office was closed. I left a very frustrated voice message as I was out of my car AGAIN for another day and I was not expecting to have to go down to one car. I received a call back noting my car was done. I finally got my sticker about a month after the initial appointment. The price that I paid was very fair but this experience ruined any further business that I would have with this company. Maybe I'm old school but I need a little bit of customer service and communication to keep me in the loop so I can adequately prepare for things. read more

It's nice to have a reliable local tire shop in the pothole ridden streets of downtown Pittsburgh. Lockhart Tire took my phone call at 8AM when I urgently needed to replace a flat and they had me on my way with a new tire before 9. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THIS GARAGE HAS TO MANY "GOOD" REVIEWS!!!! This garage did UNAUTHORIZED work on my van. My van broke down on Sunday 7/25/2021. After the van was towed there the next day which was Monday morning, 7/26/2021, (before they were opened, approx. 6:30 am) The same day (Monday) at approx. 8:30 am, my boyfriend dropped the key off and left his name and number so they would be able to move it on the lift to run diagnostics. The next day (Tuesday 7/27/2021) at 8:36 am, he got a phone call stating that the battery was bad and they had already replaced the alternator but just needed to install the battery yet. My boyfriend told him we have the extra insurance but they said they don't take that and to contact the company or the dealership! It was almost $1,000 that I should NOT have to pay for! I would've paid to have it towed elsewhere!!!!! I pay for this extra coverage so I DO NOT HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET and this "business" just ripped me off!!!! How do they run a garage like this?!?!?! I recently bought a 2007 Chevy 4500 box truck. I was having some trouble with overheating. I had taken it to my mechanic to have it checked out. He had worked on it for 2 hours doing many diagnostic checks, even though he was not familiar with large diesel trucks. He recommended that I take it to someone who specializes in diesel engines. I then called the man I purchased the truck from and he recommended Lockhart Tires. He said that they were familiar with the truck and that he had taken it to them for years. Well, my problem was solved, or so I thought. I dropped the truck off to them on a Friday.They were to to take a look at it on Saturday. No call to me on Saturday. On Monday, no call. I then called them. Dave, a technician at Lockhart's stated that he looked at the truck and he believed it to be the fan. He quoted us a price of $360 and some odd dollars for parts and labor. I told him to go ahead and replace the fan. On Tuesday, no call. I had to call them. Dave again stated the truck part had not come in and seemed to be irritated with me calling. He said the truck will be done Wednesday. I was a little upset with the way he had talked to me seeing that the truck is used for my business and that's how I make money. Well, I decided to go over to the shop to see exactly what was going on. I arrived too late. The shop was already closed. The truck was parked in there lot, so i decided to check on it. The doors were unlocked with all my tools in it. I wasn't able to lock the doors because the only way to do so is with the keys, which they had. I removed all my tools. Well, Wednesday came, I called the shop bright and early to complain about the truck doors being unlocked. Dave, gave me a dry I'm sorry. I left it at that. At 4:00pm, no call. I called Dave. He had stated to me that the part didn't come in and the truck will be done on Thursday. Oh my, what is going on. Finally, Thursday Dave called and stated that the truck was done. I arrive to pick up the truck, and was handed a bill for $500.00. After complaining they then said just pay us $400.00. After leaving the shop, I'm driving down Route 51, the check engine light comes on, their is a hissing noise, and the truck is running terrible. I pull over and a hose is hanging off the engine. I video taped it. I couldn't believe it. I call and speak with the owner and of coarse he says we didn't do anything. I was at a loss for words. After, fixing the hose myself, I'm back to where I started. The check engine light is still on, the truck is over heating, and I am out $400.00. Don't take your vehicle to this place if you want it fixed or even treated like a customer. What happened to good customer service? read more

They are ok with small jobs but not good at all with bigger jobs I took my box truck to get a engine knock looked at and the mechanic Dave called and told me it was bad ring on my injector. So after he replaced them he told me it was ready to go come pick it up , so I went. When I paid 311.00 for what they replaced I got in my truck and as soon as I started it the knock was still there but now accompanied by a check engine light that wasn't on prior to me dropping it off. So I confronted Dave about it and he was dumb founded by the state of truck which tells me they never drove it like they said it was. So I left the truck there. Later that day I got another call from Dave saying that he found the problem that it was a broken spring on a lifter so it would be done the end of the day, end of the day comes and he says the spring wasn't broken like he thought so he is going to rip my motor apart further.. I told him to put it back together and I was going to take it somewhere else.. He did just that, so I drive the truck home and when I pull into my driveway I had smoke coming from under the cab. We lifted the cab up and the injector rings they installed where leaking so I had diesel fuel everywhere !!! So I called and talked to part owner Pete and the whole conversation he was standing behind his mechanic!! I asked him why I should have to pay the 311.00 for parts that where replaced that weren't bad and his answer and I quote( we still installed the parts) my suggestion is stay away from this place !!
