I came in to look for a few items, and as someone who doesn't know much about guns, I was hoping for some guidance. Unfortunately, the service I received was terrible. The employees showed zero customer service skills and were rude when I asked a simple question. I would not recommend this store. Thankfully, I ended up going to a different gun store in Vegas where I received exceptional service. The employee there went above and beyond--he took the time to explain things to me and even showed me where the items were located. This past Friday I walked into lock and load for only the third time in my life. My visits have spanned across about the last 18 months. And this has been my second gun purchased from this store. I want to start by saying the the stock at this store is nothing to scoff at and is probably the only reason I'll be back as it has the advantage of being the most well stocked and in close proximity, which is a bonus really only benefiting me or those who live close by. But that is really where the positives for me end. A theme I notice and have noticed on each visit is the humongous ego the workers have. I'm blessed to have a great career and the ability to spend north of 5 grand a month on my hobby. I only say that to say I, at-least like to view myself as a non novice in this hobby. Yet oh man, every-time I've been in this store I've been made to feel like the brokest most uninformed gun collector on the planet. Like seriously even when I brought my girl with me the workers behind the counter must be making atleast 200k a year because there isn't a gun they don't own and there isn't a gun you pick that isn't trash. It's quite bizarre I've never been in a gunstore before where no matter who I talk to I end up in an unwanted pissing contest it's so insane lol. Each time I'm in there I'll pickup let's say a $1,000 gun and the guy behind the counter either already owns it or owns a better one and you're a dummy for choosing it. This time I went in and asked for accessories for a budget handgun I own. The dude behind the counter looked at me and talked at me like a homeless man asking for change. I felt the kinda gross need to tell him don't worry I own many $1200+ dollar handguns only then was he reassured. Another time I went in there I was looking at the ak's and the guy behind the counter asked what kinda ak's I own. I was excited to have a nice gun conversation especially about AKs because like I told the guy I saved up around 35 grand for a transferable full auto ak. He lit up and cut me off mid sentence so he could shove his phone in my girls face showing her his hundreds of thousands of dollars of transferable pre ban guns. Idk what you're paying these sales guys cause as a Forman in the carpenters union I can't afford half the guns these guys love to flex on me with haha. Bought a kit that was advertised for a PSA Akv. Once I received the part and tried to install it nothing matched up. Called the manufacturer of the kit and they said that it's not the correct kit for the gun lock n load had it advertised for. So I called and asked to return and they said no returns on the kit even though they marked the kit wrong and falsely advertised the kit fitting my pistol. Definitely a terrible company that can't stand behind what they sale. Grade A scammers here. read more

Visited the store while doing some business next door. I am recently a NV resident from CA. So I am looking forward to exercising my 2A rights and need a gun store for parts and transfers. These guys were very nice and welcoming to me. Happy I was in a free state and showed me around. They have a huge selection of pistols and rifles. The gentleman I spoke to was a Cop in Northern CA and was very knowledgeable. He showed me about 6 pistols with no pressure to buy at all. (I didn't have my NV dl yet anyway). The guns at this store are more expensive than other gun stores I've been too. The store is small and cramped.

To remind you: if you forgot or were not up to date on your rights; you have the right to bear arms. Certain laws need to be observed in society to acquire that weapon of course. We don't want to be red flagged or anything, so here we stand. We need to protect ourselves and those that we love most. Should you choose to be armed do it safely and lawfully. Shall we lock and load, first off you need to select the weapon that's best for your situation. These are personal choices that you have the right to do. Once you have selected the right firearm it's time to do some research. I highly recommend Hickok45 to anyone. This gentleman outlines what it is truly like to shoot the firearm that you have selected. He demonstrates with decades of knowledge about that certain said firearm. Ask in the store too. The staff here are highly friendly and knowledgeable about all the pieces that they sell. They are not out to see you as just a sale. The staff wants you to be comfortable and happy with your firearm selection. All the background checks will be done on site. The current laws on firearms will prevent an individual from taking the gun selection home that day. If you have a concealed weapons carry you might be able to walk out after some checks with your said weapon. Know the law. It can mean the difference from owning a gun and not owning a gun. The second amendment states: "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." After your purchase it's time to go home and wait for their call. As long as nothing shows negative on your background time to go get your new firearm. Be prepared and time to enjoy. Shoot off a few 100 rounds to break in your new gun. For all the accessories and ammo you need they can assist with your future purchases too. This is a local business so your money here is well spent. Remember to keep firearms from the foolish. I could give it less than 2, but I won't. My first experience here wasn't that great. I felt like my wife and I were being judged. She wanted to get her own AR-15. She has a few other things already, but never had a long gun before. We went here on a recommendation. I won't say who, I think there's been a few reviews about this person already, but he didn't come off too friendly. I think he was assuming that this purchase was really for me. I will admit, I'm originally from California and at the time, have not received my NV ID yet. I already have my own things that I've had from California and wasn't interested in adding anything new. It could have been just his voice and appearance, who knows. I'm not one to judge. I also noticed on the receipt of the purchase, he put something else on it like "Lay away" or something which is false. It was paid for that same day. I called them on it when we got home and it was the same guy (i can telll by his voice). He responded with "umm is there a DROS on it," and i replied "Yes." He then just said "Then you're fine." Anyway, I went there again for something else and everyone (THIS TIME) seemed to be more helpful. I started going to Bass Pro instead. You walk in, pull down your mask and smile at the camera and get in line. I live in CA which is a joke trying to get ammo in person since the states turning red as we speak and people having been scooping up forearms like they're going out of style. My fiancé ordered her zaffiri precision Glock 19 and shadow systems gen 4 frame FFL sent to lock and load. Since she was paying for her background check anyway she wanted to buy an ar lower too so we don't end up paying for 2 background checks. For some reason they had their minds made up that she was buying the gun for me ( they were assuming that I am a felon and can't buy my own gun, which I am not a felon and i can buy a gun legally). I tried to explain to them that the gun and ar lower she is buying is for her not me. I explained to them that we used to live in summerlin and that I bought multiple guns from discount gun source and have since moved around the corner from lock and load (so they could understand that I can pass a background check). They tell us that if we want the ar lower as well that we have to pay for 2 background checks because I picked out the cheapest lower that would look nice on her ar for her. At the time we only had enough money for the 1 background check and the ar lower so they ended up not selling us the ar lower because we didn't have a enough money to pay for her background check and mine and the ar lower, it didn't make sense to me so I just said okay forget it it is not that big of a deal anyway. The zaffiri Glock 19 was already paid for and her background check cleared. It should have taken no more than 1-2 days for the background check to clear and her to be able to pick it up. On a Friday, the day we paid for the background check they tell us "oh the background check offices have been busy all day, we should give you a call tomorrow to come and pick it up once the background check is done." It took them 3-4 days and 2 unnecessary trips to lock and load before she was able to pick up her gun she bought LEGALLY!! I get sometimes background checks take a few days but this was just ridiculous. We were told when we called to get the FFL licensed forwarded to zaffiri to ship it to lock and load that once we paid for the background check it would likely be done in 30 minutes which is typical here in Nevada. Finally on the following Monday or Tuesday when they call her to come and get it, they call her from a different phone number other than their listed number (so we wouldn't know it was them calling us) and calls 10 minutes before closing time. We felt that she had been waiting long enough and my fiancé was excited to pick it up so we rushed to lock and load before it closed. She went inside to finally pick the package with her slide, barrel, frame and parts kit. One of the workers told her "by the way, you should expect to be contacted by law enforcement" she asked why? He responded : "Well because of how the transaction presented itself it was suspicious" she asked what was suspicious about it? They never gave her a strait answer but then told her "perhaps discount gun source would service you guys better so just go there. To be completely honest if they decide they don't like you or don't like how you look/dress, you will be judged and assumed to be a criminal at lock and load. We have been to almost all of the gun shops in Las Vegas in the past 10 years we have lived here and have never been treated like this EVER!!! Save yourself the time and trouble and go to a different gun shop. Discount gun source is great and they have way better prices anyway. The only reason we sent it to lock and load was for convince. HUGE MISTAKE!! Dgs will take care of you way better than these A HOLES!! Every 1 star review I've read on yelp about lock and load has been 100% accurate and exactly how we were treated. Mean looks, staring as if we were trying to steal, bad customer service, they deliberately make you feel uncomfortable, ignored by basically all of the staff until they felt like helping us and for a legal gun shop they're extremely paranoid. They actually told me "we don't know, you could be an undercover atf agent" I just looked at them and laughed then told them that's funny. It's curious to me why they're so paranoid about atf if they're a "legal shop"... It seems like they're doing shady transactions like overlook certain things for specific people (like they're friends for example). I rarely get annoyed enough to write a review. My wife came in recently and bought about our 5th gun from them. She later found out she couldn't even pull the trigger. It was too hard. We went back in and assumed they would be either helpful, sympathetic, apologetic for selling a gin she can't use, or offer to exchange it, etc. None of the above. We were met with sheer rudeness and indifference. There are lots of gun stores. I prefer to spend my money with businesses that are friendly at best, courteous at a minimum, but completely rude and dismissive from every employee in the otherwise empty store I will not tolerate. The nice thing also is they have solid weapons accessories not just gimmick bs that people buy into. They carry items that Police and Military use in the field to make their equipment better. I did some research for firearms to get my first one and was recommended this spot from one of my friends and my boss at work. After going down there and waiting in a short line, I was told to speak with a gentleman named Steve. My boyfriend and I let him know that it was my first firearm purchase and he wasn't too nice at first. Not that he was rude, but he definitely wasn't too welcoming until I asked about Glocks. He didn't really show me too much and I felt a little rushed into the decision since he showed me the Beretta and the Glock 19 that was apparently returned by someone else the day prior. He definitely seemed to be an enthusiast on firearms, but my boyfriend and I both felt he was more interested talking to us about how many accomplishments he had under his belt than really making me feel comfortable about my decision and showing me the different options they had. I will say that I don't fully regret the decision, but after going to Precision Armory I low key felt some regret because they had better pricing for their selection and more inventory, alongside top tier customer service etiquette. The background checks here are super backed up. My boyfriend got a call the same day for pickup the next day when we went to Precision Armory, but I waited 5 days total for my pickup which was definitely nerve wracking. The lady that answered the phone after my purchase was annoyed when I called to inquire about the pickup (i kinda get it because she's probably answering the same question every day) and the service etiquette was poor. Honestly, I felt like this shop just didn't have an accommodating vibe from my personal experience and I definitely wouldn't recommend it if you are a first time buyer. I get they are busy, but a lot of other places are too and their phone etiquette and overall customer service was just way more welcoming and made me and my boyfriend feel much more comfortable to come back.
