My best buddy took me here when I was visiting him in Vegas, and it ended up being a really fun experience. He's in the military and owns a bunch of different firearms, so he wanted to take me to an indoor range so I could try shooting properly. I don't have much experience with guns, but with his guidance I actually had a great time. The staff here were very friendly and professional. Before we started, they went over their policies and safety procedures thoroughly, which I really appreciated. As someone who's not a regular shooter, it made me feel a lot more comfortable. Range review I went shooting at Green Valley Range with my brother to break in a new handgun. The check-in process was great. An employee went over the rules and everything seemed fine. For $25 each, you get the use of the range, 2 targets, eye and ear protection rental, and they have a lounge with fountain sodas that you can hang out in after. There were a few MAGA shirts for sale, but as a bleeding heart liberal woman, I felt perfectly safe there. Since my gun was brand new and I haven't been shooting in about 20 years, my brother set up some target stickers on the side of one of the targets to ensure it was dialed in. After a few rounds, the RSO came by and questioned what we were doing. For some reason, this range uses a picture-frame style cardboard backing. Someone actually took the time to cut out the center of the cardboard. He was somewhat polite until he started complaining that we were shooting "his" cardboard frame and needed to stop. It's literally a piece of cardboard that was already riddled with holes. There was no explanation, other than the frame was his and we weren't allowed. My brother was a marksmanship instructor in the Marines for years and we could not come up with any valid reason. Other than that, we had a great time. read more

I stopped in here on 09/24/2025 in the afternoon because the gun store I've gone to before had their gun range closed due to maintenance and my house was recently broken into & I wanted to purchase a gun for home protection and do some shooting. It was busy when I walked in & I was unsure of who to go see when I arrived. I had asked a guy who was hanging around (later I found out he is an instructor) if there was a line and a guy behind the counter had asked "how can I help you?" Come to find out I was talking to the owner, retired police officer Jerry. I told him about my house recently being broken into & robbed. I told him what kind of experience I've had with guns & shooting. He asked me what was my purpose of owning a gun was & I informed him that it was just for home protection & to go out shooting for practice as needed. Of course being a retired police officer & a gun shop owner he was very knowledgeable/informative about the guns they carry. He had showed me a few, allowed me to hold them and try them out (of course not loaded). We spent a lot of time going over the guns & talking. I then informed him that I needed to shoot a few different types of guns to find one that I was comfortable with & felt confident using. After I departed from him I walked thru to the gun range. This place was busy & only had 4 guys working but one had to get to lunch so that left 3 guys. They have one behind the windows of the range to keep an eye on people who are shooting & available to go in and help out if needed. One guy to answer the phone/run the counter and then one to go inside the range with you if needed. I dealt with Jon who was handling the busyness quite well. Once it was my turn I told him what I wanted to do, what guns I've shot in the past and we discussed which ones I would shot that day. I went with a 9mm and a 380. I believe I've shot a 380 before & knew I've shot a 9mm. One option was to rent a gun & get 50 bullets with it, not sure of the cost but he did tell me if I didn't use all the bullets I could take them home with me but I wouldn't be allowed to bring them back to use in the future so I decided that wasn't the best option for me as I wanted to try out more than one gun. I ended up doing the "try before you buy deal" ($25) which includes one gun with 5 bullets, each additional gun was another $25. I found this a little expensive & would have thought if you added another gun that the pricing would be a little less but I was there to shoot guns so I went with that deal. You have to give them your ID & fill out some paperwork. They have goggles & ear protection to use. I had flip flops on when I arrived in the store & knew that I couldn't wear these while shooting & changed into sneakers. They also have a nice little waiting area with a couch & then some high top tables where the counter was. They have a soda machine for free drinks, just ask for a cup and single male & female bathrooms. Jon took me back into the range and gave me some reminders on how to hold the gun. I went with the 380 first. I had originally liked the gun as its smaller & fits in my hands nicer but it definitely had a bigger kick than the 9mm. I was liking the 9mm better. Jon stayed right by my side and was there to answer questions and to help me out as needed. It is loud in there and I did get a little jumpy to the sound of other gun's going off...not the best thing to have happened when ya have a gun in your hands. I had 10 bullets to shoot & hit my target 9/10 times which was AWESOME, considering it's been a few years since I've shot a gun. (see photo) We went back to the counter and I had told Jon I wanted to shoot a 9mm some more but there is a process once your out of the range & back at the counter. There were people who were waiting to use the range. One young kid was there wanting to shoot a machine gun. A guy over 18 came in with a 17yr old & the rule is the adult had to stay with him @ all times while he was shooting the gun. You can bring your own gun and ammo in but they will check your gun out before you can go & shoot it. Jon told me I would have to wait before going back in to shoot some more but it was almost 3pm and I wanted to get to Best Buy to buy a home security system and I had a friend coming over to my house so my time was limited & I didn't want to rush in BB. I told Jon I was going to leave and come back another time. If your planning on going to the range and don't have an appointment or do be aware that you may have to wait to get into the range, so be patient and leave yourself plenty of time if you have somewhere to be afterwards because you may have to wait. I believe you can make an appointment but only 2-3 days in advance (can't remember what Jon told someone who had called to do that?) Jerry & Jon made me feel welcomed. They were very patient and educational with the different types of guns. I definitely will be back to shoot some more. I highly recommend this place!! read more

I've been here a handful of times now, and I have to say the staff has always been helpful and knowledgeable. The public range is a little smaller side, so you may need to wait for a lane to open. I personally like coming here because I am able to leave, go get something to eat, come back, and still be able to use the range since I already paid. They also offer one free handgun cleaning per lane, which is imo convenient. I recently purchased a Springfield Hellcat Micro from here at a great price. Another reason I like this place is they offer you a free range day with the purchase of a new handgun with plenty of accessories available and ammo in stock. Now I did mention that the public range is on the smaller side, but they do also offer a membership signup which gives you access to a bigger range at the same location. Living on the East Side, I'd been looking for a gun range that is open to the general public. There are a few, but I don't feel like driving out to Boulder City. Green Valley Range seemed to be the most convenient for me. I needed to zero a handgun optic, so I figured this was a good time to check out Green Valley Range for the first time. The check-in and sign-in process was quick & easy. For range time, they offer 2 free targets to use, which is nice. Additionally, they offer discounts for Military/First Responders/LE, casino workers, and gun store workers. Even better. Overall, a very calm, respectful, and supportive environment. Everyone from the front desk, RSOs - and even fellow shooters on the range - were all polite and approachable. I will certainly be back. Do NOT take the CCW class here. Worst renewal class I've ever taken. They finish the course and then hold you hostage for 45 minutes and make you listen to a firearm insurance salesman. He is a terrible salesman, as well as wasting everyone's time. At least give everyone the choice to listen to him or leave. They won't fill out your paperwork until after the spiel. Ridiculous. I stopped in Green Valley Range to fire a new weapon. It was my first time at this range. I went on a week day. I would say it was moderately busy. I was greeted by a member of their staff. I provided my ID and completed some minimal liability paper and some other stuff on an I-Pad. The Range pass was $25.00, it included targets and eye / ear protection. I had my own ears & eyes, so I didn't need theirs. I occupied a lane and was in and out in less than 20 minutes. I will definitely return. read more

GVR has been my go to spot since it opened. I enjoy shooting indoors because lets face it. The summer heat in vegas sucks. I love the fact they also provide soap that gets the lead off youre hands. This is a great place and I HIGHLY recommend it to all who enjoy a good indoor shoot!!! read more

Really good experience with this range! Very close to my house so this is normally where I go for some fun. Staff is friendly and helpful. If you are a new marksman don't be shy to ask for assistance, they are always willing to help. Prices for single person is $25 which is a bit steep but you can be there for as long as you please. Got my renewal for ccw and Clif the instructor. These renewal classes can be very tedious and very boring, but this one was anything but. It was very entertaining and the time seemed to pass quickly. Do not give the this place a single thought. High turn over rate of RSOs who think they are tyrannical gods. Constantly changing rules. Been there several times over the years and none were pleasant experiences. Don't shoot above this line or we will kick you out! Shoot with in 6" of said line and they will come in and berate you as if you shot above it 12 seconds after you were warned. You and your buddy have identical pistols and want to compare cans? Don't load 3rnds each and fire alternate pistols every other round with 3-5seconds in between. That's more dangerous than the guy mag dumping his Glock and has a shot group the size of a draft horse and they will tell you that in the least polite way possible. I work two jobs 70hrs over 7 days a week. Today was literally my second day off this year. I have a large pelican case with room for over 20 pistols. I go in. I fill out the waiver (twice because their system can't retain it for some reason) I had one in my bag that I cased at the table because it fit. Want to switch to another and opened my case along the back wall locked open the actions grabbed them by the barrels keeping them pointed in a safe direction turn around to place them on the table and told had to case and uncase in the lane only.........the case is too big to fit in the lane............I can't pull anything out with out violating their rules........why didn't any of the other 3 guys to include the supervisor who rang me up and asked "is in that big ole case?" Say anything? Good way to get cash from people and screw them over. Responding to the owner: You seem to be missing multiple points. I NEVER shot above the line. One round landed 6" BELOW the line while I was attempting to sight in a red dot. Your RSO came in and chewed me and buddy out for at that moment in time for NOT BREAKING YOUR DO NOT SHOOT ABOVE RULE. Last time I tried uncasing the large case at the bench, I was told I am "blocking the wall way" and told to put against the wall and make sure they are always pointed in a safe direction when moving from case to bench and only load at the bench" like I did today. Customer service is your number one weapon. POLITE and professional employees will go far better than tacti-coolios just looking to yell at people and talk down to them. Also didn't see much plain as day rules not in the fine print as much as this rule you have about shooting above a line on the target. read more
