I had a locksmith service two weeks ago and paid cash for it. I forgot to ask for a receipt and I have been reaching out for a receipt so I can get reimbursement from my insurance company. I noticed he block my number because it went to voicemail right away. Wouldn't recommend doing a business with him. If you do, don't pay cash otherwise it's hard to follow-up with him. read more

The guy is awesome. Due to winter clay soil shift in DFW area, my front doorgot stuck in the 'locked' position. When I tried to force to thumb knob on the bolt lock on the door to turn, it broke! I called lock-it-down and they came and opened the stuck latch, replaced it (just the latch which was all I needed, which saved money - did not replace the whole lock assembly), and adjusted both strike plates, AND reset the hinges on the front door with longer screws so the door/frame are attached to the house itself, not just the door to the frame. Price was very good - the man took two hours but only charged for one. It normally takes an hour, but since it was stuck so bad he had to work really really hard to get the latch out but he only charged for the one hour. Came on time, kept me informed when en-route. Do NOT use this service! Chris was friendly on the phone and fast to arrive but has now become a nightmare! First, he took long to make a key and was very disorganized (perhaps he was drunk) but we Gave him the benefit of the doubt. When he opened the door he hit the other car and did not flinch at doing so. He took an hour to make the key. Second, he stuck a stick through our sunroof to unlock the door and in doing so broke our windshield. He became upset, cursed profusely, and said it was due to being Friday the 13th. Chris promised to fix our windshield the next day. We paid him for his service ( IN CASH WITH NO RECEIPT)and he said he would call to setup a time. Now he does not answer his phone. He avoids our calls. We have left numerous voicemail and I have emailed him through his website. When my husband called him through his cell phone Chris answered and pretended we had the wrong number. I called him from my work phone just now and he answered even though my husband had just called him one minute ago. I told him who I was and what I was expecting and he said he did not know anything about that and hung up on me. PLEASE BE AWARE YOU ARE DEALING WITH A DISHONEST BUSINESS PERSON!!! read more

I called Chris late on 10/06/2016 with a door lock that would not catch ahold of the strike plate. I sent a picture of the strike plate along with a description via Thumbtack. Chris called me back within the hour and we set up an appointment for the following day around 10:30-11:00 am. Chris arrived within the time frame he stated and came prepared with the right tools to handle the job. He knew exactly what needed to be done and I could tell he was not satisfied until the door lock was fixed properly. He was efficient and the repair was made timely. Chris is the WORST contractor I have dealt with! Like one reviewer said he definitely seemed like he was under the influence of something! He shouldn't even get a star. We informed him prior to hiring him he would have to bring tools to put a dead bolt on a metal door. He showed up and acted like he had no idea he would be installing the lock on a metal door, so without the proper tools he was unable to install the lock. Next up installing a lock on our bedroom door..talk about complete disaster!! He drilled a hole through the freaking door!?! Then when he was trying to install the strike plate and he managed to destroy that too! It looked like he took a freaking hatchet to it! He split the door frame and made a random drill hole in that too! Sooo instead of getting a project off our list done this weekend, we now have an extra project on our hands and still have to hire someone else to install the other dead bolt. Do not use this guy..he has NO idea what he's doing! *Yes, the 2nd lock was installed but the door and frame were damaged in the process, resulting in us now having to hire someone to fix what you did. All that was said after you were done was to send you the bill to repair the damage(hence the reason you were not paid) but from the previous review, it looks like it might be difficult/impossible to get reimbursed for that. The point of hiring someone to do the work is so it is done correctly. Bottom line it was terrible work and don't recommend you. read more
