What a great find!! We were on vacation, needed sunscreen and stopped in Locals instead of Walgreens next door It was a MUCH better experience. They have a ton of merch and great brands. Owner was there and very friendly and informative. If you need hats, bathing suits, sunglasses, sandals/flip flops, beach wear, etc this is the place!!! Was headed to another shop when I saw this one. So glad I went in. Deep knowledge ...which is what I needed. I was having a tough time using my west coast boards in Florida and Jimmy the owner explained the bottom contours that work better here and why. They also have a huge selection of Firewire, JS, and more...a huge selection of Firewire and Firewire is making some insane boards right now. After talking for a while and getting some great guidance I decided on a Firewire Chumlee. Went straight to surf and it was AWESOME ! So psyched about the great guidance. You guys nailed it! This place is a joke! I ordered a board from this place and the owner takes down my order on the back of a random business card and puts it in his wallet. He tells some BS that they are tied into some secret Firewire network and even though the board I want is completely out of stock nationwide, he can get me one from other locations around the country. 3 weeks later I visited again and he had no idea who I was, even after I reminded him about the order and told him to check his wallet. Sure enough he had forgotten but didn't have the common sense to acknowledge it. 2 weeks after that I came in and got some cock a mamie stupid story about how they are looking all over for my board. I told them that many of the online surf shops had my board in stock but again, the owner gave me more lip service. At that point I ordered my board online from bcsurf.com and got free shipping to my house in 2 days with super nice service. Never heard a thing from this place. Great job, idiots! As for other people going to this place. I've heard the owner will not stand by his products if returned or questioned. My wife and some of her friends have always come out of there empty handed which tells you that their selection sucks too. Then, just the other day my surfing buddy goes in to order a new firewire. The owner says that the board he wants is so rare that there is a waiting list but he can bypass that. When my buddy got home and told me, I told him my story and sure enough he found his board at bcsurf.com as well as catalystsurf.com.....what a joke! Even the local surf instructors from nearby surf camps say this place is a joke. But the funny thing is that this place has a small following. Bunch of blind sheep. Great place, helpful staff, and friendly vibe. I was desperately looking for a new board for winter waves and a surf trip. After calling around frantically unable to find a board, i went in to the shop to look around. The owner was super helpful and let me know he would check with his guys to see if he could get it shipped quick for me. In no time, he called me and said he had found one and I placed an order for the board right away. Within two weeks it was in! The owner called me right away, understanding that I was super anxious to try it out with waves on the radar. In addition to all of this the owner spent time talking over two different sizes of that board, and ultimately he recommended the right one for me, the thing rips.
