It was stunning, historic, chic, youthful, high energy; lots of young women in gowns and men in suits. Great cocktail and wine menu. Our daughters had a Hugo Spritz and a "Bubblegum" martini which was beautiful and delicious (surprisingly not too sweet, tasted like bubblegum, but bit of raspberry - and had a foam that looked like a pile of bubblegum balls!) I had a Thomas Shelby - a dark rum, 20 yr port and bitters; really good. Like a Portuguese take on a dark and stormy. After eating mostly seafood for the past two weeks, we splurged on the steak a barao, potato gnocchi, rack of lamb w/ potatas bravas, and sides of fries, green beans and oven-baked rice w/ smoked sausage. Wow. Everything was excellent! Prices were not unreasonable, based on the quality. Good service. For a great meal that feels like you're eating in a stunning museum, absolutely recommend it!

Watching the chefs in their element preparing the dishes was so cool; for such a tight space, they were a well-oiled machine. Here were my favorites: 1. The tomato soup with egg. So, so simple, with only two main ingredients, but perfectly executed. I'll need to try making this at home with the immersion blender. 2. Pan con tomato with jamón ibérico. I'm sitting here writing this review and crying a little on the inside that we in the States don't have such easy access to quality ingredients to make such a stand-out dish. Grilled bread, tomato spread, and the best jamón I've ever tasted. This was an order we added at the very end and I'm glad we did. 3. The sweet rice pudding with cinnamon ice cream and toasted rice krispies on top. I was almost too full to function by this point but still made room to demolish this dessert. We also got the grouper stew, which was pretty good, but at that point, I had basically gotten the same dish multiple times and this one didn't particularly stand out. Definitely make reservations! There are two seats on the street but I personally wouldn't want to sit there as there's a ton of foot traffic in the area (plus the cars drive pretty close too so you're also breathing in fumes and exhaust). A perfect dinner in Lisbon: oysters at Rosamar one street over and then some tapas and drinks at Tapisco.

The standout--and must-order--dish is the cod with egg (their refined take on the classic bacalhau). It's silky, savory, and perfectly balanced, with the egg adding richness without overpowering the delicate salt cod. Truly iconic and reason alone to come here. Other highlights included the mussels, pan con tomate with jamón ibérico, and the seafood rice, which is deeply flavorful and ideal for sharing. Every plate arrived beautifully presented and thoughtfully seasoned. The space is chic and energetic with an open-kitchen vibe. Service was polished and knowledgeable, though it gets busy fast--reservations are essential even for a Sunday night. Tapisco is ideal for a stylish night out, a special dinner, or anyone wanting to experience modern Portuguese cuisine done right. Memorable and crave-worthy.

Both steaks were tough. The peppercorn sauce was delicious. The potato puree was similar to paste in texture along with the creamed spinach. I ordered the Argentinian steak and that too was rather tough but jute flavor of salt and pepper on the grill made it edible. Needless to say we were disappointed in our meal. The ambiance had something to be desired. The outdoor furniture was falling apart and was not what we had anticipated. We were the only people in the restaurant at 5:00pm and then two more couples came in while we were there...
