Had a wonderful time. I got the fish taco and would have to say it was very tasty and one of the best tacos I have ever eaten. The homemade cabbage was an excellent compliment to a perfectly grilled fish with wonderful fried chips. My sister had the chicken salad on a perfect ciabatta roll with fresh fruit and pasta. Just moved to Hoschton recently, initially I didn't want to eat there, because we thought it was outside seating. Decided to give this place a try.. To my surprise, the food was gourmet quality professionally prepared, the staff was very friendly, and did I say how good the food was.. Such a great little location in a town where time nearly stands still. I love the fact the owners have preserved the history as much as possible here. Now onto the more important matters...the food! I had the lobster roll and it was delivered with what I'll call a southern twist. The twist was being that it was delivered on a piece of thick bread somewhat like Texas toast. It was actually a pretty good compliment to the standard style. The service was fantastic and given that it is a nice day out, they open the windows and that just increases the comfort factor. Stopped in for lunch after seeing it on Yelp. I had the Grilled Cheese Special for $10, my husband had the single burger for $7. His burger with the in-house made chips looked really good for the price. My special came with soup and salad; the plus on the basic Caesar was the generous portion of shaved fresh parmesan, the spicy chicken soup was good for a cold winter's day, the plus for the Grilled Cheese was the Gouda... other than that it had what I'd guess was a slice of a "Kraft Single" and the very thick white bread seemed blandly generic. The atmosphere was nice, a comfortable industrial feel. I look forward to coming again in warm weather because they have large, garage style windows opening to the patio. Great local spot which is best on a sunny cool day so you can enjoy the beautiful outdoor seating. I went there with a colleague for lunch and it was my first time. The menu was a nice variety with plenty of options. I got one of the bowls with a choice of grain, meat or shrimp and 3-4 different sauces to choose from. It also came with a side fruit salad that had the best raspberries. Service was very good and the restaurant was quite full. I will definitely return again and try the dinner menu. read more

I've always loved coming to this place but today ruined it completely. Our sever asked us after our second round of drinks who was going to drive us home. Talk about a buzz kill first of all, but also, how inappropriate? We were celebrating a work accomplishment and had a sober driver. Lovely little upscale cafe. They have indoor and patio seating which was nice for us traveling with our pooch. Friendly waitstaff and yummy food done well. I had the single stack bacon cheeseburger and it was the best burger I've had in a long time. Fresh and good meat to bread ratio. If you like lots of beef you can get double or triple stack meat. Hubby had one of their bowls with mushroom risotto, steak and Carolina sauce and was very happy. House made potato chips. Simple food done well with nice ambiance. 5 adults 2 children. Called ahead they said a 20 minute wait. We get there, we're told 45 minutes to an hour. We still wait. One hour 15 minutes. Got our table, waitress took drink orders then food orders. Did not see her again for 45 minutes except to serve people who had been seated after us. She then came by, reordered more drinks. The other folks who came in after us actually ate, paid and left before we got served. Waited over an hour to get served. Three of us had burgers. All were so overdone, they were hard to eat or cut (did that for the kids). Toppings thrown on the burger, one side tomoatoe, pieces of lettuce and the godawful pickled onions bunched up. The others had fish tacos. Unedible. They said the fish tasted bad and evidently they have a lot of pickled onions because they loaded up the orders with them. All tacos were left on the plates. The waitress comes back and says "ready for your bill". Didn't look at the table, didn't ask what's wrong. I was going to complain, but she wasn't around long enough to talk to and I really believe it would have overwhelmed her. She didn't ask if we wanted dessert, just took my credit card. She was quick to process that however. It reflected in her tip which I shouldn't have given her, but I did feel sorry for her. No clue about waitressing. As April C. said, "worst service". Hello. As stated earlier, I could not be reached until after 8pm although you called about 6pm. I'll be glad to relay our experience from yesterday. I arrived about 4:00 alone as my husband was helping the ambulance drivers with the woman that fell near the grate on Brassie Ln. When I came in, there was no one at the host stand. I came through the bar area to the tables and looked for someone. No one to be found. Two older women seated at a table told me the young girl would be back in a bit as she had gone to the kitchen. She came back - she was short with long dark hair. I told her there would be 2 and she said 'Hold on, I have to clean off a table'. I waited a few minutes and she took me to a table near the restrooms. I sat down and noticed the table had water rings on it, food on it, and had only been wiped down in the middle of the table. When our waitress came, I asked if she could re wipe the table as it wasn't clean. She passed the shorter girl and said - the table is still dirty - and came out from the back with a spray bottle and some paper towels. She sprayed the table, which sprayed me, my glasses and my shirt and then she wiped down the table. She never apologized - I truly don't think she even noticed. The hostess came out and wiped down the other table but left the dirty napkins on the floor. She also wiped down about half of the table instead of the whole table and didn't bother with the chairs. She didn't even place them under the table. There were dirty napkins underneath the table and she just left them on the floor. I ordered an appetizer while I waited and had to ask for napkins and silverware. Our waitress was quite perturbed we didn't already have them. Another table was seated and they had to ask for silverware as well after they got their appetizer and realized they had no utensils. I was told brisket was unavailable as it was too hard to get so the dish I wanted would be pork. I ordered it and my husband ordered a burger. We were never offered a list of specials although we asked before we ordered. I mentioned when I walked in about ordering a family meal and was told I had to ask the waitress. After seeing how poor the cleanliness of the restaurant was, we didn't ask at all. We had to ask for water refills 3 times. It was 4:30 and not crowded. The tables stayed dirty after customers left as the hostess seemed unaware and very uninterested in keeping the restaurant and/or tables clean. Our waitress was unfriendly and could not have cared less if we were there or not. Her attitude was the same with the family that came in as we were finishing. I have been following your page about 3 months as the specials looked amazing. We live near Athens so don't get to Braselton very often. We we excited to finally get to your place and have a great meal. We were both very disappointed in not just the attitude of the staff but the condition of the tables, floors, chairs and bathrooms. If there was ever a time to take an extra step in cleaning, now is the the time. A woman about 40 or so was there, I assume a manager, and never came to a table, asked it everything was okay, nor thanked anyone for coming in. Depending on young people to promote your business without coaching is such a losing proposition. They have no skin in your game and don't care if you make it or not. I noticed I could not post a comment on your page as you did not agree with my previous comment. I'm a business owner and I would never ban someone from my page unless they used profanity. You wrote I should have contacted you before posting on social media. I did ask to speak to a manager - I asked the hostess. She neither did not listen nor did not ask. We would not recommend your restaurant to anyone nor would we ever come back. The unfortunate aspect of this - if you would have called when I asked (I had an appt until 8:00) I would have been glad to talk to you and answer any questions you might have had. Instead, you took the low road, banned me from your page and ignored me. Not a great business decision in my opinion.
