I'm sure if you are reading this you are probably just wanting to know "who in their right mind moves 3 times a year?" NO ONE! And I technically did not MOVE three times, but I did move TWICE, and I hired Local Moving 3 times, getting this same crew THREE TIMES, and all three times they WERE AWESOME simplified my life immensely. Sometimes, life gets.... Complicated... and and your STUFF - a lot of stuff, has to get from one place to another. Jeremiah, Joey & Dominic are my GO-TO crew at Local Movers. I will ALWAYS CALL THEM. I originally chose Local movers because of their amazing hourly rate, and no extras costs. I called other movers & they were giving me bids well over $1200 to move from a 2B 2b apartment to a storage unit & into a room in my Mother's house. I realized that costs had increased, but I continued calling around until I found this amazing local company, now with two offices, so that you don't get billed for mileage & time from some area 40 miles away from your home. No mileage at all!! So this crew, the two previous moves, with packing, long walks, two stops to unload, nothing broken- completed my moves in 3.5 hours. Today went a little longer. We're u yo 4.5 hours. This is because I had them do 1/2 of my packing. Yep. They packed my stuff. Then, when we got yo my storage unit, I asked if they could help rearrange and organize it. They DID!! It looks awesome!! I was adding a ton more to it, but they made it look so much more roomy! And super clean! Then, they helped me organize & put together some of the stuff in my apartment. I literally wish I could adopt them! They do not stop working. I have HEAVY STUFF! I collect rocks & fossils. There were no issues. No complaints. They have fun with each other & are super polite! I can't upload the photos of all of my damaged furniture. You can see it on my google review. Which I copied and pasted here. This is how my furniture was delivered. When I asked what happened they said this is the way my furniture was in my storage unit. I had been to my storage unit 2 days prior with 2 guys who helped me go through everything and arrange it for the move. None of my furniture was damaged. I have 2 witnesses. Local Moving didn't wrap any of my furniture. When I asked why Leo, the lead guy, said they didn't have the materials on their truck to do so. I immediately contacted the company and spoke to Kyle. He asked ME why they didn't wrap the furniture. Kyle told me they always have the materials on the truck. I saw my 2 lamps fall out of the box they were being transported from. I watched the mover who dropped it pick up the broken glass off my floor. I was told multiple times they would take care of me not to worry. They were so sorry. The owner said they would make sure they would take care of me and not to worry. I received the attached text from Leo the next day. I really thought it was in good faith. Also, keep in mind this move was from 2 10x10 storage units, side by side, to an apartment about 6 blocks away. It took them 8 hours with 3 guys. $2600.00 and change. Now big bully Jacob is involved. We all know how bully's speak to us and behave towards us. Jacob is a bully. I'm very sure he got pleasure out of speaking to me the way he did and telling me how things were going to go down. Making excuses for his lack of competence because he just had a baby. Also, letting me know they aren't going to take care of the damage and will pay .60 cents per pound for the damage of my approximately $12,000.00 worth of furniture. I've contacted my credit card company and disputed the moving charges. I don't care what any contract says. It doesn't apply when the job is done so incredibly carelessly. I would recommend you call anyone else. read more

I absolutely would NOT recommend this company to anyone. If I could give it 0 stars I would. The movers were nice, however, they forgot some of my containers at the bottom of the stairs at my old place in the entrance to the laundry room (containing hundreds of dollars worth of tools and electronics). Thankfully I don't HAVE much and those containers had tools in them that I immediately needed so I noticed, but that's also the thing.. I don't HAVE much so it's hard to forget something.. Also, my last place has had a LOT of theft so I would of lost hundreds of dollars worth of tools if I hadn't noticed immediately and rushed back. Which, I rushed back and picked them up and moved them on my own (because the movers were too busy to go back and fix it right then). I paid for movers to move my things, NOT forget them in a dangerous location and have ME rush to move them MYSELF.. I called asking for a refund, at least for an hours worth because it was less than an hour long job which I paid two hours for, which doesn't even done properly. The only reason I hired movers was because I had a couch and a tv stand that I couldn't move on my own. (Next time I'll use Craigslist).I was denied because the movers did offer to go back at a later time and pick the belonging up (like I should have been ok with tools and electronics sitting out in the open right by where everyone exits the building for the parking garage). Absolutely terrible management to deny me that and be unwilling to accept a loss for their employees actions. And I don't even know what to say about those who managed to FORGET my items. I didn't realize I needed to watch their every move to ensure they could do their job correctly but lessons learned. read more

These guys were GREAT! They showed up a few minutes early and were ready to go. They quoted me two hours, but were too hard working-- they finished in one hour. The guys were personable, made for a comfortable transaction. They were cautious with all of the items, I couldn't find anything that got damaged. They even moved a beast of an automotive oscilloscope. I'm not sure how. If I have more to move, these will be the guys I'll call. And if you are looking for someone to move, I highly recommend these guys. I see that these guys mostly get five-star reviews, so this is just another one to add. read more

You get what you pay for. Positives: they did move the bulk of our belongings and did a lot of heavy lifting that we couldn't do. Negatives: a LOT of scratched, dented, and broken items, especially the furniture. (Side note: I don't think that just because a person can lift six boxes on their back that they should, or, more specifically, slam them down when they get inside, especially if they're labeled as fragile.) Also, expect to be ghosted when following up on missing and broken items. It's been a week, I've left several messages via voicemail and email, and not one word about the desk they destroyed or any of the other issues. Overall, I'm sad and disappointed. Things happen, but I find it unprofessional not to get a response and resolution. Update: Joseph, thank you for your prompt reply. We were able to reach someone and are working on a resolution. I have updated this review to three stars and will continue to update as things progress. Update 2: It took a few weeks of calling back and waiting, but once the claims person did reply, our issues were resolved quickly and courteously. I've upgraded this review to four stars because our issues were resolved, but communication could be improved. read more

Movers.They are necessary, but a pain. Seriously. I am not moving myself, so I need good people. Local Moving is a 3.5 star biz, that I rounded up to 4 stars. My hubby and I were making a big move from the Denver area to Cañon City (110 miles). So here was my problem, local movers wouldn't go that far and long distance movers thought it was too short (since it was in state). I literally got quotes and talked to every mover yelp suggested with their online quotes, plus a couple others. It took forever to find local moving. They will move you anywhere! Yay! I also like that they come out to your house to quote. We have a workshop and several antique items and getting generic quotes online just didn't make me feel comfortable. RJ came out and explained their process and quoted us within a day. A+ on this part. They are really pricey. Like $359/hr pricey. Yikes. However, they have a solid BBB rating and they are bonded/insured, have good reviews. Day of the move the quote said they would be there at 7a, but there was a miscommunication and they didn't show up until almost 8:30a. Then they were supposed to bring two trucks, but apparently one got in an accident last week so they only had one (that super annoyed me) and we had to wait for another one (they did take us off the clock during the wait). This was a problem, because (as I explained during the quote process), we had a VERY TIGHT WINDOW where we had to be out of the house per our sales contract. Move wise the guys were fine. They are movers. They are better at the beginning and tired and a little lazy at the end. It was a long day, I get it. A desk did break during the move (they said my husband was helping move it, but he literally was in the room when it broke, so that was BS). As far as I can tell, only a few glasses broke (which is inevitable). So that wasn't terrible. We have found that even though I marked every box with the room it went in and then put signs on every room, a lot of boxes were in random parts of the house (which means a lot of us re-moving). It is annoying, but again it was a long day and for the most part they were very considerate of our items and very friendly to work with. I hope I don't have to move anytime soon, but I would recommend and use in the future. read more

Called this business because I required a couple of mover's to assist in moving a one bedroom apartment to a 16' truck. So after pursuing movers in the area of where I required their assistance, I located this business. This was in their website so I gave them a call. How much should I pay movers per hour? The average hourly rate for movers is around $30 per hour per mover. Although the hourly charge can be higher depending on your specific location and the moving company itself. So when I contacted them I was informed by the person answering the phone that the cost for a two person crew would be 199 dollars an hour. The time would start from the time they left the office. As shown in the information above it stated 30 dollars an hour per person. I understand that costs may have increased, but 233 percent. We had this firm come and load up a U-Haul truck for our out of state move. They were great and very friendly. Things were loaded, properly secured against shifting and wrapped against breakage.
