Local Salad Plate with Chicken

The food is always great! The service is good, sometimes the hostess stand could be a less awkward moment? The salsa choices are the jam. I've always enjoyed anything I've ordered. Even the salad was good!!!

Salsa trio

I ordered the steak nachos and loved my food! We ordered the salsa trio but the tomatillo verde one ended up being everyone's favorite. This place is a little bit on the expensive side but I really enjoyed my food and ended up going two nights in a row to eat here!

Veggie tacos

Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today. From drinks to salsa to the meal, everything was fresh and delicious. Service was outstanding. Great vegan options. I highly recommend the veggie tacos. My friend got the quesadilla with braised beef. She loved it. The chipotle salsa is the stuff dreams are made of.

Best Fish Taco + Margarita of all time.

This is the #1 spot landing spot if I have friends in town that have never been to LR. Great food, drink, service and consistency.

Place was packed, but we were seated within a reasonable time. Waiters were attentive and informative. Food was great and authentic! We had the three salsa appetizer- my faves were the verde and three chile. Highly recommend the skinny margarita if you don't like your drinks too sweet. Ribeye taco is a must!

a bowl of chips and a bowl of guacamole

This place flirted with a 5-star despite some early rust. I will say this area is on a down swing with a lot of stores emptied and vacant. Nice area though - and of course on a Thursday night, a table for 2 carried a 30min wait. Bar was full too so that wasn't an option I could pivot to. We were sat after getting the text that the table was ready and put in a drink order. I went with the blackberry margarita on the rocks and we added an order of guac for the table. I thought the guac was standard and the chips were a combo of baseball Diamond cuts and thin strips. Good taste to them. For the meal I went with the carnitas tacos (3) and added a chorizo one Ala carte. For the two sides I ordered lime rice and the slaw. The slaw was kind of bland - but the lime rice was total GAS. Wow. Great flavor, cooked perfectly, and probably my favorite side dish to date in 2023. The tacos come on corn tortillas - every good. Meat was tender and the sauce and garnish was great as well. Chorizo had a nice spice to it, and overall this place was really exceptional. Well done. Highly recommended.

Birria Quesadilla

Some of the best food I've had in the area. Service was a bit slow but the meal made up for it tenfold!

Got there a little early and our table was ready. Since it was a fixed menu, we only had a few options to choose from. First course I chose duck and pancetta, meatball, and my wife chose the Ahi Crudo. Ahi Crudo - flavors were good, just wish they would have gone with a sashimi cut over the thicker cut of tuna. It had a little chew to it. Duck and Pancetta meatball- probably the best seasoned bite of the evening, almost to the point of being too salty. The meatball was cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor. Second course I chose the lobster bisque, and my wife chose the strawberry and beet salad. Lobster bisque - lobster meat was very tender, and you could taste the good salty water that they boiled it in. The base of the bisque was lacking a depth of flavor. I expected it to be more pronounced lobster flavor in the biscuit itself. It was good. It was just a different flavor than I was expecting. Strawberry / Beet salad - the salad was very good. I liked the cheese that they put on the salad. Luckily I was able to steal a few bites from my wife. Main course I ordered the New York strip, and my wife ordered the lobster risotto. New York Strip - when the steak hit the table, I was very excited. As you can see from the photos, it was cooked perfectly. From the first bite, I could tell the steak was tender, but there was zero flavor. I don't know if the steak was not seasoned at all, or if they were just playing on the drizzle over the top of the mushrooms in the steak to add flavor. But the overall plate was bland and flavor. I had to add table salt, which I almost never do. Lobster risotto- lobster risotto looked amazing. My first bite of risotto that I was able to steal was pretty bland. I tried another bite before my wife finished the entire plate! The second bite was much better had a lot of of the pepper flavor in the risotto. My wife said the lobster was tender and delicious. Dessert! I chose the Tres Leches and my wife chose the chocolate pot de creme. Tres Leches - this cake was probably the overall favorite thing of the evening. You could taste the vanilla and the cream. It was a match made in heaven. The frozen strawberries on top provided a good texture contrast. Chocolate pot de creme- this was an amazing dessert also. The depth of flavor in the chocolate cream was truly remarkable. You could taste the different chocolate. Rich and decadent for the last bite. We chose to add the wine pairing on with the mail. All the ones were pretty good. Nothing earth shattering, but all paired well with the meal. Service felt a little rushed, and I understand that valentines is a big day for the restaurant. We would not be halfway through a glass of wine when the next glass of wine for the next course would show up. It almost felt like our server was trying to push the pace of our dining experience. This review will ultimately get updated. Because I never judge a restaurant based on one experience. So we look forward to our next date night, where we can stop by and try the standard menu.

When ordering, we clearly stated that we do not eat bacon due to religious reasons. Despite this, one of the girls salad's arrived with bacon. The server apologized and said it would be corrected, but while the rest of the group received their food and began eating, my friend and I were left waiting. After about 15 more minutes, he replacement salad arrived -- only for us to unfortunately find a bacon bit in it again. At that point, we asked to speak with a manager. Sara came over and apologized, then asked if we had been drinking and offered shots or desserts for the table. We appreciated the gesture and opted for desserts. However, her response was shocking -- she told us not to "take advantage of the business." That comment completely changed the tone of the evening. We were taken aback, declined everything, and just wanted to finish up and leave. When we later asked her why she felt we were taking advantage, she responded rudely, saying she had already apologized and didn't know what else to say. The situation was mishandled from start to finish -- from ignoring a clearly stated dietary restriction (which is not just a preference, but a religious requirement), to poor service recovery, and finally, unprofessional and dismissive behavior from management. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. I would not recommend this place based on how this situation was handled.

Plastic dishes, the mule cup - there's definitely better options. The silverware is okay. It's like midway between affordable and nice - pick a lane. So... my only complaint is the plates. We had a 2 or 3 glasses of wine ($5 each on happy hour, which is great) and a couple beers ($6 on hh) so it is not like we were drinking water and wasting her time. We ordered the Arugula salad for 2 ($13), which had cannellini beans on it. I loved the dressing, it was delicious & nicely dressed. However, several pieces of the arugula was brown and old or wilted. Size of the salad was perfect for 2. We shared the Sarah Meadows pie ($26). It was just ok. Our overall take was that the bartender could have made our experience a little more enjoyable, the pizzas are one size (huge) and expensive. I wish we could order a smaller pie since it is only 2 of us. We will not be going back.
