Loved it here! Called ahead of time to ask some allergy questions and they were SO helpful!! They double checked with the kitchen to make sure I could safely eat lunch -- which was dope!! The decor is so cool and retro! It's clean and spacious, which friendly people at the front! It's not often that diner-style places understand food allergies, so I was stoked! Everything was so good - exactly what I was craving! Also not expensive either! I'll definitely be back soon! UPDATE: Went back for breakfast the next day, was sooo yum! Simple but delicious! Once again, modified my meal (eggs, hashbrowns, and bacon w toast) to include GF toast. I'm going to miss having diner breakfast when I leave! Can't wait to come back!

I have now been here several times and have become a fan. I love their omelettes; but the best I hung I have had was their June special of Taco Salad. It seemed like an unlikely place to find the best taco salad I have had, but it truly was. My service has always been great and down home friendly. It is always a pleasant experience here. I also love the 50's diner vibe that they have created here. It fits perfectly with other the location in Old Town!

Simple items. Lots of breakfast fundamentals. Older time feel and friendly atmosphere. Gets busy on the weekends. No alcohol but great orange juice lemonade and shakes.

Open faced Pot Roast Sandwich with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy

Tried this place for lunch last week. Good old diner vibe, and certainly looks the part. Ordered the open faced Pot Roast Sandwich, served with Mashed Potatoes, covered in Gravy. Generous portion, the beef had good flavor & texture. Will come back and try some other things. Service was very good and very friendly.

We love Local Diner for breakfast. It really is such a special place in Old Town Coppell. We almost always order the Border Buster, Texan or No Meat under the Pan Full of Breakfast option. They are hash brown skillet type dishes that have all sorts of delicious hearty ingredients. Their omelets and home fries are excellent as well. The ambiance here is so cool and the service is impeccable with waitstaff who have stayed on for years and if they don't know you by name, they will at least know you by your order! Wonderful place for breakfast and very family friendly!

Chicken fried chicken, white gravy on the side, broccoli, and home fried potatoes! Excellent!

Came her for brunch to meet up with my kids and their girlfriends. There used to be two of these restaurants, however, they closed one down and kept this one. The service is always spot on! The food has always been cooked to my liking as well. The ambiance inside the dinner reminds me of how old time small city diners were run! Great service and sitting in a booth you feel at home. Your coffee cup is never empty! Pretty impressive. September 2023

This diner is pretty much everything I could ask for in a diner. The interior has super cute diner vibes with cute booths and tables with curtains between them if you want a little more privacy. ;) There is also a bar you can sit at if you want as you walk in. The wait can be a little bit in the mornings on the weekend but otherwise there is not much of a wait. The food is good and comes out fairly quickly and the variety of options is just enough so you don't get overwhelmed. They have breakfast, lunch, diner, "blue plates", and even desserts. Service is nice and the staff always make you feel welcome and at home. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to try a local diner out with a cozy feel to it. The prices can seem a little high for a diner but the quality of the food is not "diner" quality and the portions are pretty good, too. Definitely recommend their pancakes. They are really big, fluffy, and have a really nice vanilla flavor!

Once again I've eaten at the Local D and their customer service is once again outstanding. Never had any issue with parking or getting a table, even though they seemed busy. This time I ordered the steak and eggs. Very tasty. Then I ended my meal with a peach cobbler. I could have easily smashed 20 of those. Don't keep the peach cobbler away from me. I want it in my mouth. I will be back.

They have some unique menu items. The food was very good as well as the service. It's in a cool spot in a small downtown area.

Whiskey Cake - A look into our dining room!

If I'm being completely honest, I would go hear and get a piece of Whiskey Cake EVERYDAY if I…read morewasn't worried about my sugar intake. The restaurant is named after it for a reason. This visit we didn't get any entrees or drinks we were there for the cake. We don't have one in our state so we were ECSTATIC to find out there were a few in the metroplex area. We did go 2 out of our 4 days there. Just get the cake, ask for a middle piece. Everything is locally sourced and the whipped cream is made fresh and you can tell. Every bite is heaven. The slices are pretty big so 2 of us share one. The service is fantastic and fast. Zero complaints. We also learned on our last visit that they ship the whiskey cake.. not sure they should've told me this lmao because I will be ordering.

Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar - Comfort, Cocktails, and a Sweet Finish…read more A quick stop in Fort Worth to visit friends during our six-week road trip led us here, and it turned into one of those "glad we chose this place" kind of nights. The space is large, comfortable, and full of life, even on a Wednesday evening. There are cozy sofa corners if you want something a little more intimate, plus an outdoor area that's "outside"... but not too outside, which honestly feels like a win. Drinks were a highlight. My boulevardier was spot on, and then I shared a smoked Old Fashioned with my friend that was just... exquisite. Smooth, balanced, and a little dramatic in the best way. Food held its own. The chicken and waffles were delicious, the chopped chicken salad was fresh and satisfying, and my friend's Reuben got a lot of love from her side of the table. And then came dessert. We shared the Whiskey Cake with praline ice cream, and let's just say, it lives up to the name. Decadent, rich, and absolutely worth it. Service was really good. Attentive without hovering, and thoughtful in those small ways that stand out. At one point, our server split the Old Fashioned for us without us even asking. That kind of anticipation earns points. This is the kind of place you return to when you're back in town. Comfortable, reliable, and just indulgent enough to feel like a treat.

This review focuses on the Las Colinas location. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Yolk - Las Colinas is located in a new area in Irving-Las Colinas with plenty of parking. Inside it's open with plenty of seating (some outdoors too), has Yolk's bright blue and yellow colors, but my favorite features are the big windows which let in the the sun's natural light. 1 Star. Service - Our server was great. She was very attentive and made sure we always had our mugs filled with coffee. I appreciated the friendly service that was all smiles. 1 Star. Food - Yolk's menu has classic breakfast and brunch options but be sure you check to table for coffee specials. I ordered an Iced Apple Pie Latte that was served in a glass mason jar. This small detail allowed the Apple flavor to start my breakfast on a high note. Speaking of which, my Breakfast Mac & Cheese caught my attention when it was served in a skillet. I intended to only eat half, but the smokey ham paired with the creamy mac & cheese under a light panko layer was too delicious for me to stop. The prices are a bit on the high side, but otherwise a geat meal. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. DFW is getting many great breakfast/brunch spots like Yolk. If you're a big fan of breakfast (and travelling on expense), it's a great way to start your day. 1 Star.

A gem in an otherwise culinary wasteland…read more This bistro is located off the main lobby of the Westin at DFW. There are multiple budget hotels in the area and the only food choices within reasonable walking distance are Denny's, gas stations and an outdoor food shed at another motel. There is a well curated list of local craft beers (8). Make a point to ask for the separate alternative "healthy menu". The food on that menu is very different from the comfort food on the main menu and it is available in half orders. I tried a half order of chicken and avocado arepas and a half order of tuna tataki. Both were delicious and visually pleasing. Staff is attentive, engaged but not intrusive. Prices for these two items were $8 each, very reasonable.

This includes a few nights at the bar and 2 nights in my room. The staff was never overly inviting but they were usually busy with a demanding crowd of hotel guests. Ordering through the Marriott app looked like a great option but it wouldn't work once they asked you how you'd like to pay. When you go downstairs and scan their QR code, it brings you to the same interface but on a website rather than an app, and that worked fine. The chicken wrap with fries was pretty good and was my go to. The house salad wasn't great and I wouldn't try it again. The half order of the tuna was decent but I loved the pickled veggies under them and would have just had a bowl of those! I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here but having this inside your hotel for convenience is nice.
