Good beer, great atmosphere. I found the bartenders to be incredibly friendly. You walk in and there is is a bar, a fridge with canned beer, and cured meats and cheeses. They also sell pretzels/chips. As far as beer is concerned, I find that they had a very solid listing of almost every kind of beer one would be into. I really enjoyed the Puppykiss IPA. You can sit inside or you can grab your drinks and go sit outside. They have drones chairs scattered about on what I'd describe as the backyard of a farm. We sat down, watched the goats and Emu's, relaxed and enjoyed our beers. I really enjoyed my time here and I'm looking forward to going back, especially as the weather gets nicer. The bartender noted that when it gets nicer there's music and food trucks. This is definitely a spot to check out if you're looking for a laid back experience and good beer. read more

My husband and I were in the area and decided to give this brewery a try last weekend. It was a cool and rainy Saturday and there were only two other people there. The bar tender wasn't very interested in chatting with us and instead kept looking at her phone. The beer had an excellent flavor but sadly, it was not cold and it was flat. This farm brewery is a true hidden gem in central New York. They have a great selection of craft brews and a variety of craft drinks from southern tier and 1911. This place is one of our most favorite places to visit on date night. The best part is they are dog friendly! We love to go here on a summer night with our pup and enjoy the food trucks. The owners are always so nice and friendly. The farm animals are also a plus. There is tons of outdoor seating. You could also bring your own food if you like, or even your own chair or lawn blanket. There is live music sometimes during the summer. The beer is also great, they have flights and cider too. Recently added a good seltzer they have made to their menu. I'm not a big fan of beer, but the beer here wasn't that bad. They have about fifteen beers on tap. Due a flight of four it's $7.00 and they aren't just little pours either, you get a decent amount for the flight. They have a great outdoor area with picnic tables, chairs, and a stage for live bands. They have animals in the property, which makes the outdoor area a little less appealing, the smell is very strong. The decor on the inside is simple and it works well in the space. read more

Stopped by Local 315 on a recent weekday night. Were greeted as we walked in and quickly digested the beer menu they had prominently displayed over their taps. Our server was very knowledgeable and took his time to explain the intricacies of each variety. For example, they had two versions of their Retribution IPA on tap- one having more of a caramel flavor to it; while the other had more hoppiness to it. They offer flights so you can try - and choices this evening extended from Milk stouts/IPAs/Browns/House Ales/to Reds and Ciders. Their staple/award winning beer at the moment seems to be the Soul Kiss IPA. Pints are $5 each- no matter which beverage you choose. They also offer growlers and cans($10 fills) which you can bring home. I understand that they occasionally get local area food trucks to pull into their parking lots. They have a decent sized tap room, but offer a much larger seating area outside where you can enjoy the many live bands/performers that often play here. The more popular alternative, however, is to sit in one of the Adirondack chairs on the front porch- watch the numerous farm animals as you enjoy your draft while the sun sets. 315 sits near the bike/Canal path so you will find it often frequented by cyclists- as we did this evening. The brewery has come a long way in the past 2+ years and has already established a footprint in some of the local bars. Look forward to returning to #315 in the future. read more

Then I checked their social media and saw they would be here today. The Local 315 Brewing Company is a farm based microbrewery located in Camillus on Warners Road, not far from Rt 690. The setting is part of a farm located on a hilltop. The entry from Warners Rd. is uphill and leads to generous parking areas once you pass the sheep and donkeys. Everything appears to be newly constructed. The primary red steel building accommodates the brewing facility and the bar area. Outside the entrance of the barn like building is a porch with seating. To the left of the building is a beer garden, for lack of a better term. Even though I write this 2 days prior to Easter, it was cloudy and 34F degrees in tropical Upstate NY. There is also a stage like structure under construction so, I speculate that entertainment may be offered in the future. I briefly entered the bar area. There is bar and table seating in a clean brewery environment. The brewery itself is open to view from the bar area. If you want to eat and enjoy your brew, Toss 'n' Fire Wood-Fired Pizza was available this evening. People were drinking the beers and going outside to order their fresh pizzas to bring them inside and enjoy the beer and pizza together. Since I was driving, I don't drink and I only had the pizza, which is a separate review. They grow their own hops for use in the brewing process and seem self sufficient. I'm a carnivore and I wonder what plans they have for the sheep and other animals :) Just based on the setting, I can give 4 stars yet I haven't sampled the beer. Went to the ales and tails event here and it was our first time visiting the brewery. It was a great family event, tons of people brought their whole family including dogs, lots of booths selling pet-related things and a CBD oil booth too, and obviously great beer selections. Ramen from armory square catered the food which was good too. We got mainly fruity ales- all were delicious, would try future events here. read more

While visiting family for Thanksgiving we decided to try Local 315. Really nice place with great beers and nice atmosphere. Went on Friday and bought 2 flights and tried 6 beers and 2 ciders. All very tasty! My niece and I loved the Winter Warmer. Tastes like Christmas gingerbread and 12.5% but who's counting! Brought the rest of the family on Saturday for more flights and to buy growlers. The guy pouring was really nice as were patrons sitting at the bar. Bring the dog! We grabbed a corner table but there are also chairs outside to watch the goats, donkey, chickens and turkey. Fun place! read more

A brewery should never charge bar prices, so $6/pint just seems excessive, especially considering the styles being made here are exceedingly basic and not well-executed at all. I thought the Townie Session IPA was fine, but everything else lacked - the pumpkin beer was a straight-up cinnamon candle, the double IPA lacked body and had way too much of a prominent malt flavor (where's the hops?), and the Oktoberfest was flat and one-dimensional. Raspberry sour just tasted old and stale, not particularly sour. I realize they are transitioning to a larger brewing system, hence a "learning curve", but it's very apparent that this business should not have been opened until they mastered how to brew with larger equipment. Every beer possesses the same watery, thin characteristics; they need to crank up the body, hop prominence, and overall taste of their beers. Good atmosphere and a hard-working staff can't compensate for non-brewery pricing and a sub-par product. read more

I love stopping up to this brewery, in the summertime it is amazing as they feature lots of live music and food trucks. The winter also offers lots of beers to choose from. They have staples such as the townie, soul kiss or dark stout. They also have a guest tap that usually has cider on it. The beers are generally very good, once in a while you get one that is not great, but that is part of the process of trying new things. If you like IPA's, stout, or even the occasional lager...stop out to this place, you will be glad you did...and bring a growler or two...they also have crowlers available. read more

Charging $6 for a pint of beer when you are going to the source is not very local.....but seriously even in the high-cost of living area I live in NJ breweries charge between $4-$5/ pint and we're talking bourbon barrel-aged stars, not amateur Oktoberfests. I want to love this place because it's local, it's beer, it's my 315 roots, however, the focus of the brewery is clearly on profit and not on passion. If you want a trendy place to bring a date, this is a good place. The service was nice (although they should make an ordering line), the space is new, farm-house chic, and there are lots of photo ops for instagram if that's what's important to you. If you are a craft beer drinker and looking for a good brew, this is not the place. I am rooting for them because I want CNY to become a craft beer destination, but I got bad vibes from the focus on branding as opposed to product. Good beers, everything is pretty solid from these guys. Location is great, just outside the city but close enough. Small quiet tasting roo. But plenty of space outside. No food but they do keep the pretzel bowls full! Few guest taps, had some ciders on that were pretty damn good as well...... Looks to be a pretty big hop farm next door so thats pretty cool. Animals and stuff on the property. All in all this is a pretty cool/chill spot to come enjoy some beers. read more

I came here early on their opening day and will definitely be back. My husband and I shared a beer flight and then each got a pint. For the flight, we got 2 IPAs, the Red Ale, and the Oktoberfest.The first IPA we had tasted a little weird and flat to me, but the second IPA in the flight was pretty good. Overall, I wasn't a huge fan of their beers, but I really liked the atmosphere and space. We sat outside at one of the many picnic tables and were able to enjoy the beautiful fall weather while sipping a beer - can't get much better than that. The day we came here they had a pizza truck out front, so we also grabbed a pizza. I don't think they will always have that, but I think it is a great idea. It made the experience more complete. The do crowlers (can-growler), though we didn't get one. The owner and staff were all so friendly and welcoming, and they have goats and a donkey down by the parking lot. I adore all animals, so it made my day to pet the goats. I love supporting local businesses, and I am already looking forward to coming back. read more

3rd time coming back to this place. First time was during their soft opening. Their beer was some of the worst I have tasted in the craft brew department. My credentials are somewhat decent since I have been to 80% of the craft breweries along the east coast as well as part of the Midwest. Went back a 2nd time because I felt there was something majorly off with their brewing equipment and it was the soft opening. Beer was still awful. They made a statement on heir Facebook that the problem was they weren't used to the larger brewing system they had to jump up to. Ok cool I will check back in a few months. Low and behold 5 months later the beer is still some of the poorest brewed craft beer I have ever tasted. Word of advice. Get a new Brewer. You have a great location, why ruin it with horrible brews. Your double IPA isn't even an IPA let alone a double. Take a little trip and go try brews and get an understanding of your own industry. Your way off. But I'm sure the Budweiser drinkers looking to "get crazy" with their beer palette along with friends that won't give you an honest opinion will keep you in business. 3rd time beer is still horrible. Grand Opening! Today was the big day! New local craft brewery, family run and owned I believe. After an hour in line, we were finally we able to get a flight of 4 samples for $7. They had 16 beers on tap! My favorite was their IPA and took home a growler for $15. I also tried their chocolate stout, red ale and Oktoberfest. They had live music from 4-6pm and food trucks. I wish the food trucks stayed longer. By the time we finished getting our samples, the food truck was all packed up to leave a little after 5pm. In the future, it might be nice to have them stay longer especially when there is an event going on! Service was a bit disorganized too. After the line grew past the goats down the hill, they added a few tap lines outside to help decrease the crowd inside and wait time for purchasing pints. We were able to find a picnic table easily and enjoyed our samples! Next time I'm in the area, I plan stopping by to enjoy another flight of samples with less of a crowded bar and learn more about their beers on tap. read more
