Great little local brewery tap room. Nice home town vibe. A good place to watch a game. All the beers we tried were solid. Especially the brown ale which is a style not brewed as often anymore. Hey I love a good IPA and they do that but it's nice to have old school porters and brown ales as well. Service was great and prices reasonable.

We went on Saturday a little before 4 and despite the packed parking lots on both sides of the building we were able to park and find a seat after placing our Cousins Maine Lobster order in the app and grabbing drinks inside Freight Yard Brewery. Always ice cold and good selections. Staff is friendly and speedy. There was a birthday celebration inside but there are a lot of great seating areas and table umbrellas to be comfortable even an outdoor tent with tables. Relaxing with outdoor games we enjoy relaxing here.

Really enjoyed my experience at the Freight Yard. The service was really friendly and helpful, and the beer was great. Having. Food truck outside was a great idea and offered a different way to enjoy a bar/brewery. The brewery itself was very cozy, not too loud which was great for my group to have a conversation. They had trivia night the day we went, but we couldn't stay to check it out, sadly. I highly recommend the Hipster Elixir, it was refreshing and fruity.

The image shows a lit, circular sign for Freight Yard Brewing, mounted on a wooden planter box filled with rocks and soil. The sign features green and yellow colors with the brewery's logo and name. The background includes a street with moving cars, utility poles, and houses, with the sky indicating sunset or early evening. The scene is outdoors in a residential or commercial area.

This place is super cool! We stayed here for the night through Harvest Hosts. We ended up having a beer flight and hanging out. It was trivia night, which was busy, but we had great service. The flight was delicious and I took a crowler home. They do have a food truck onsite, but only for certain hours. There are food options nearby. We had a great time! Thank you!

I love the creative tents, awnings and covers that provide a nice respite from the sun on a great August afternoon like today!

Oh my goodness, Clay's Freight Yard Brewery was rockin' Friday night with a full parking lot, a food truck and best of all, my favorite craft brews!!! This establishment has really caught fire in bringing people together and building community with their wonderful outdoor set-up that is super dog friendly, bringing bowls of water out to the pooches! Safety is paramount at The Freight Yard Brewery! Clearly marked places to stand in line for the tap room and masks worn until you are sitting with your spaced out group create a healthy environment. My favorite part of this brewery is the beer. I am a huge fan of the Congress Lager that they sell in 4 packs at prices that are better than Nichols Grocery Store( I am not sure how they do it!). The owners are very present and attentive to needs. The bartenders are very accommodating and helped me purchase some beverages for going to a friend's camp that are sure to be a hit! I bought a Crowler of Hitch because my friend loves IPAs. If you haven't been to the Freight Yard Brewery, this Fall is the time! Bring your dog, your family and friends and a thirst for god beer and food when the food truck is there! It is outstanding to have a place like this in the historic zone in Clay!

Beer Menu - The menu from Freight Yard Brewing, a family-owned New York State farm brewery, lists several craft beers including Hitch IPA, Red Pirate Roberts Ale, Caughdenoy Cream Ale, Yard Boss Kölsch, Porter Porter, Blackberry Derailment Porter, New York Strong Ale, and Bonfire Haze IPA. Each beer description includes flavor notes, ingredients, alcohol percentage, and IBU. The menu also mentions upcoming beers and features a simple, text-based layout.

Had a few beers at Freight Yard Brewing on Saturday afternoon. They had a small, but solid selection of beers, as well as a good selection from other local friends. Quality: Ordered a Flight with four beers, Caughdenoy Cream Ale, Hitch IPA, Bonfire Haze IPA, and Porter Porter. The cream ale was not my favorite, but both of the IPAs were delicious. A mix of styles, the west coast IPA showcased a very well-balanced beer, while the hazy IPA packed in the juice. Porter Porter was the best of the bunch though. I tend to be critical of porters, rarely feeling they capture the flavor profile aimed for, but here it very much did. Quantity: Flight comes with a four samples. Value: $12 for a Beer Flight. Ambiance: Freight Yard Brewing is located in upstate New York in the small town of Clay. Right off a railroad track is this fairly large taproom. The layout is a bit strange, as they have guests order from one specific area of the bar. There is a store area towards the front corner then seating along the winding bar. Music was playing out of a small speaker in the far corner of the space, leaving that area loud, but the rest of the space very quiet. Crowd: A small crowd on Saturday afternoon, mostly regulars. Service: The bartenders were distracted by friends, and weren't particularly excited to arrange a Flight. Parking: Large private parking lot.

Delighted to finally have the folks at Freight Yard open their doors after many months of hurdles, setbacks and permit delays . Nestled alongside the train tracks in the former hamlet of Cigarville , the brewery is located within a former feed mill (and veterinarian's Office). While they don't currently brew their beer on site, they do have plans to do so in the near future. Freight Yard offers many solid options including the traditional IPA- "Hitch" , a kolsch a.k.a. "Yard Boss", a honey ale and seasonal wheat offerings. Freight Yard also offers several local varieties on their guest tap menu. When we visited on Thanksgiving Eve they had options from Talking Cursive, Stout Beard and Full Boar- among others. They also occasionally carry a hard cider on tap, so you are bound to find something that satisfies your pallet. Flights can also be purchased to help you make your decision. The brewery has ample parking and also offers a side yard for lounging and yard games during the warmer months. While they don't serve food(other than chips, pretzels, etc.) you are more than likely to find a food truck here on the weekends. Speaking of weekends, that is primarily the only time that Freight Yard is currently open. Roughly 12-8pm on Fridays and Saturdays; 12-5 on Sundays. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and/or Instagram as they are really good about posting hours and events. The Brewery does have several TVs that typically show the sporting events or SU games on the weekends. There is also a side gift shop area where you can purchase cans, crowlers, Freight Yard hats, shirts and sweatshirts- as well as products from other local merchants. Freight Yard is definitely a chill place to hang out with friends and enjoy beverages and conversation. Looking forward to the future with this brewery and the ripple effect they may have on the surrounding area.

Entrance photo - The image shows a Freight Yard Brewing sign situated in a wooden flower bed containing yellow and red flowering plants. The background features a sunset sky with scattered clouds, utility poles, and trees, indicating an outdoor setting near a road. The scene captures a peaceful evening atmosphere with natural lighting and a rural or small-town environment.

By far one of the most friendliest and attentive brewery I have been to. I believe the owner was the one checking on everyone and even brought water bowls for dogs and bubbles for kids to hang out. The beers were great and it was a fantastic space to just hang out with the family. We will definitely be back

I have been here a few times. Good place to go and have some drinks. Will occasionally have food trucks, but you can also bring your own food. The beer isn't bad and there is cider and seltzer as well. The decor inside is creative. They allow dogs in the outdoor area.

The owners were very nice and helpful with their knowledge of the different craft beers. The inside decor was cool along with the high tables and stools! The beer was good !!

Whoever is constructing the menu has a wonderful palette! We enjoy the setting and the staff. Really personable folks! This quickly became our favorite brew pub in the area and we look forward to spending time here.

My friend and I visited the new Willow Rock location in Cicero, and boy was it busy on a Wednesday…read moreevening! There was a huge birthday party, the lot was full of cars, but we went in! The entrance is kind of awkward because you walk into this big building that feels like an office building and there's a lady to the right that greeted us and told us that the bar is all the way in the back and the food is in between there and here. That I thought felt very weird and disjointed. But we grabbed a menu on the way through and sat at the bar. It was very air conditioned and I really appreciated that. You couldn't hear the large party from the bar Even though the entrance to the greenhouse was open and right behind us. They had a 1911 cider that I liked, the mango pineapple one, so I was excited to get that. They also have a large variety of their own beers on tap. But what we came for was the food! The menu has a variety of options for shareables, delicious looking sandwiches and pizzas that I saw the cooks in the back making the dough themselves. My friend and I ordered three of the shareables to try a collection of things. And we were not let down. You can order the food at the bar, but they take your phone number and your texted when the food is ready to go pick it up at the window that we had walked past earlier. That was really bizarre, honestly. Despite the huge party going on, we got our food nearly instantly. We ordered the charcuterie, the ahi tuna, and the pork belly bites (those took a little longer to come out). All the items that we got came on paper plates and paper containers in general. We thought that was kind of interesting of a choice for as classy as the food appeared to be considering. The pork belly bites stole the show for sure. They were so good I couldn't stop eating them. My friend loves the ahi tuna, it had a lot of flavor in the noodles were very flavorful. Our batch was too saucy and almost leaks through the paper plate but it was tasty. Charcuterie was fun, it had pita chips which I love, and came with some sort of jam and mustard which complemented the meats and cheeses very well. It was an assortment of cheeses and not just the typical cheddar and pepper jack. There was some nuance to the flavorings. And who puts mortadella on a paper plate? Well, Willow Rock does. And it was delicious. The greenhouse is beautiful and there is a huge patio outside that appeared to be dog friendly. Overall, the experience was great. The awkward ordering kind of makes me not put a five star, but they did just open so I am sure that things will get smoother. I will be back! I hope they keep ciders on the menu.
