Ole south breakfast skillet

The food is absolutely AMAZING!!!! The service is decent but a little shaky. I've been twice and had to wait almost 5 to 8 minutes before a server came to the table. It was worth the wait though, and the food is consistently good! Get the Ole south skillet with a croissant instead of a biscuit. Thank me later

I had the pork chop and it was very good. The place was really busy and it took a long time to get the food and even longer to pay the tab. My wife had the roast beef and while it tasted pretty good, it was very cold and soupy. The Mac and cheese was very dry and crunchy. Needs moisture. Very loud tonight.

Louisiana breakfast bowl

Came here for brunch. Would def recommend making a reservation. I was disappointed that what I wanted to order was out. I wanted the Louisiana breakfast bowl and they were all sold out of the crawfish étouffée. However I still ordered it without, it still had the potatoes and eggs and crabcake and I got it with the spicy sauce that comes on the crabcakes instead. It was very good. I would like to come back and order it again when all the ingredients are in stock. My date had the chicken and waffles and loved them. The chicken was very juicy on the inside. My one complaint was the drinks. If you order a flavored margarita do not say on the rocks. I ordered a peach margarita on the rocks but the waiter did not inform me that it is a pre-mixed frozen margarita and he brought it to me in a glass with extra liquid poured into it so it separated and was very disgusting. I had to send it back and I never do that with drinks. But he should've informed me it was already frozen. Other than the drinks, the food was very good.

we were visiting Little Rock for the first time and our hosts had suggested the place next door, unfortunately it had an hour wait so we walked over to Loca Luna and were seated immediately. The Bloody Marys look great but I have to watch my sodium so I was unable to partake although everyone else enjoyed theirs. Our friends ordered the Breakfast Pizza which I don't even think was on the menu but seems to be a standard option if you know about it. I ordered the Frenchman cast iron bowl which sounded good, buttered sautéed spinach, ham and hollandaise on top of croissant. it was ok but it was lacking seasoning. My Boo got the LA Blowout, which was delicious w/ a crispy lobster crab cake topped with étouffée on top of a biscuit. Service seemed off, it was hard to find our waitress and we had to ask others for napkins, etc. We will return and do recommend this place.

Included gratuity for two people

I've been coming to this place for nearly 30 years. It has been a staple of good food my whole adult life. My husband and I went in today (Saturday) for brunch. There wasn't a crowd at all. We were very surprised as Loca Luna has been a hot spot for EVER! In my view there were 10 empty tables and 5 tables of 4 or less. The food took longer than we have ever experienced at this restaurant and we ordered very basic menu options. The waitress kept apologizing but we couldn't tell if it was the kitchens fault or the waitress' fault. We ordered Cheese Dip, Biscuits and gravy, and a mahi sandwich. With it being so dead, we thought we'd get our food pretty quick. But no, we waited and waited. We noticed that another couple that sat just before we did got up and left. When our food arrived the normally best cat head biscuits in the world were hard and the magi sandwich was way over cooked. We were so surprised. Then we got the bill and noted that we were charged 17% gratuity for a party of two. Let me say here that I have been a waitress before and I tip very well. Typically 20%. But to be forced to pay 17% gratuity for terrible food and terrible service is not ok. A set gratuity means that the staff aren't being held responsible for their service. After almost 30 years, we are sad to say we won't be back. Very sad. We recommend this place to everyone we know!

I've had this spot bookmarked for quite a bit, so the hubs and I found last night to be a perfect opportunity to stop in for post-dinner drinks and a dessert! While I definitely look forward to returning for dinner and brunch, I had a blast cozying up to the bar with Heather (bartender extraordinaire)! She was absolutely great! I ordered the Cherry Limeade for Adults (as the sign reads... lol) and the hubs had somethin'-or-other and ginger ale-- not the name, but I honestly didn't really pay attention as he rarely orders off the drink menu (which is annoying to me)! I digress. As I was saying, the cherry limeade is the bomb! It's sweet and slightly sour, is served in a cute, decorated tin cup, and packs a wallop! -- It's sneaky... You'll never know what hit ya'! (Just the way I like it!) For dessert, he settled on the apple crumble! It's buttery, and served warm with cinnamon ice cream-- DIVINE! Heather brought out the dessert tray, graciously showed and talked us through the offerings, and left us to decide. While making our decision, my neighbor at the bar chimed in and shared her favorites to help us decide claiming that she's "tried them all and she would know!" Cool, worked for me! We settled on the aforementioned dessert, and I took a liking to said neighbor, so we gabbed on a on until she finally asked how I liked the crumble. (It was almost gone at this point) I replied that I loved it and Heather chimed in that it was her (my neighbor, Lynn) recipe. WHAT??!! Hers? The lady at the bar? Imagine my eyes darting back and forth from Heather to Lynn. Lol! My neighbor was the owner, who just happened to be at the bar having dinner with her husband (Mark, the other owner) right next to us. What an organically authentic meeting! Love it when that happens! Anywho, long story longer, Lynn was great and selfies were taken! I failed to mention to her that I am a Yelper and would be Yelping this entire experience, so I guess she wasn't the only one keeping secrets. She'll find out soon enough! :0) Can't wait to go back for more! Great first experience at Loca Luna!

Lobster - Blue Crab Cakes and Biscuits and Gravy
Bjorn B.

I had a wonderful brunch experience today. Thank you Bethany for the great service. The food runners were exceptional. We started with the crab cake and biscuits and gravy. The crab cake was really meaty; large lumps of crab and a crisp crust. I was skeptical on the sausage balls as I've had them not cooked evenly, but these were great. The bacon is also high quality. The eggs were great. Lots of cheese, so if you like less cheese, be sure to let them know. I would recommend getting the gravy on the side of the cheese grits, but that is a preference, not a complaint. The lady had the Croissant French Toast. I've had it before and enjoyed it as well. She prefers powdered sugar and whipped cream, so we may ask if that is an option next time. If you get the mimosas, I'd recommend just getting the bottle. Mango and pineapple juice went well with it. All and all a great meal. We will be back again.

Got there a little early and our table was ready. Since it was a fixed menu, we only had a few options to choose from. First course I chose duck and pancetta, meatball, and my wife chose the Ahi Crudo. Ahi Crudo - flavors were good, just wish they would have gone with a sashimi cut over the thicker cut of tuna. It had a little chew to it. Duck and Pancetta meatball- probably the best seasoned bite of the evening, almost to the point of being too salty. The meatball was cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor. Second course I chose the lobster bisque, and my wife chose the strawberry and beet salad. Lobster bisque - lobster meat was very tender, and you could taste the good salty water that they boiled it in. The base of the bisque was lacking a depth of flavor. I expected it to be more pronounced lobster flavor in the biscuit itself. It was good. It was just a different flavor than I was expecting. Strawberry / Beet salad - the salad was very good. I liked the cheese that they put on the salad. Luckily I was able to steal a few bites from my wife. Main course I ordered the New York strip, and my wife ordered the lobster risotto. New York Strip - when the steak hit the table, I was very excited. As you can see from the photos, it was cooked perfectly. From the first bite, I could tell the steak was tender, but there was zero flavor. I don't know if the steak was not seasoned at all, or if they were just playing on the drizzle over the top of the mushrooms in the steak to add flavor. But the overall plate was bland and flavor. I had to add table salt, which I almost never do. Lobster risotto- lobster risotto looked amazing. My first bite of risotto that I was able to steal was pretty bland. I tried another bite before my wife finished the entire plate! The second bite was much better had a lot of of the pepper flavor in the risotto. My wife said the lobster was tender and delicious. Dessert! I chose the Tres Leches and my wife chose the chocolate pot de creme. Tres Leches - this cake was probably the overall favorite thing of the evening. You could taste the vanilla and the cream. It was a match made in heaven. The frozen strawberries on top provided a good texture contrast. Chocolate pot de creme- this was an amazing dessert also. The depth of flavor in the chocolate cream was truly remarkable. You could taste the different chocolate. Rich and decadent for the last bite. We chose to add the wine pairing on with the mail. All the ones were pretty good. Nothing earth shattering, but all paired well with the meal. Service felt a little rushed, and I understand that valentines is a big day for the restaurant. We would not be halfway through a glass of wine when the next glass of wine for the next course would show up. It almost felt like our server was trying to push the pace of our dining experience. This review will ultimately get updated. Because I never judge a restaurant based on one experience. So we look forward to our next date night, where we can stop by and try the standard menu.

(We ask every year) Not expecting them to honor it because it's a BIG ASK in food service - they went ABOVE AND BEYOND. We were given champagne and they made a rum cake for us! We were crying with gratitude, the hostesses and wait staff were crying, and it will be an anniversary to remember. The ambiance and decor was edgy and modern. You could actually have a conversation while it not being too quiet or too loud. Oh and the food was fantastic! We ordered crispy rice cabbage salad () a patty melt, Khao Soi, and two cocktails. Unbelievable quality. Even better service! Our waitress, Parker, was knowledgable about everything on the menu, suggested the fries (don't skip those), and very attentive. We will be back.

Rating a 3.5 for now…read more Cool spot for a quick date night or one or two girlfriends night out for drinks. Atmosphere/Service: Okay art and cool atmosphere. No loud music so you can talk to and hear your guest. Some of the seating is family style and some individual which is cool. Drinks are amazing and staff is attentive so which made it great service! Food: Menu concept has a variety of food items. It has more Asian flare but also has a few items from other food cultures. Not quite a home run with all. The Appetizers we selected were good. I like the spin on the desconstructed crab Rangoon. It was really tasty and adding the cheese on top gave it a unique taste. The chicken wings were perfectly fried but sauce is required to develop taste. Which is fine if they were going for Korean Type fried wings. Dipping sauces were okay, chile lime is refreshing but not made for fried wings. Gochujang sauce was good and sweet chili heat were fine-Flavors were just as good as a store bought bottle. I was excited to try the crab fried rice but I found it to be dry and the flavor bland. It needed more vibrant veggies. The veggies were cut tiny so the flavors didn't come through like the roasted corn inside or the scallions. I couldn't taste they were in the rice. The "blue crab" was almost invisible. However if you use the sweet chili sauce on the rice it gives it a punch! Portion sizes were large-some too large. And usually that's a sign the food is probably not that great. Chicken Kimchi Stacker-The kimchi on the chicken sandwich was great but couldn't completely deliver enough flavor for the double fried bland chicken. It needed a special sauce to give it a kick. As for the entrees, we wrapped them up for take home. I added more scallions and rice vinegar and a touch of lite soy sauce to the fried rice. And I would probably go back to try other items. I would definitely return for the bar, and great Rangoon dip! Overall, No explosion or burst of flavors but it is well prepared and well presented food with a great staff.

So when I finally got the chance to stop by for an early dinner with a friend, I was excited. Unfortunately, the reality of the experience just didn't live up to the expectations. The two stars are strictly for the vibes--because eating outside under the stars on a warmed patio in the fall? That was beautiful. The atmosphere was exactly what I wanted: cozy, inviting, and perfect for a chill evening. Our server team was friendly, and everyone committed to us having a nice time there--including the cooks. But the food? Completely unseasoned. Everything was cooked well, but there was zero flavor. I mean, none. It felt like whoever made it had all the technique in the world but forgot to add even a pinch of salt. And because I met the cook, I'd venture to guess that's how Red Door told him to cook it. I'm pretty sure he seasons his food at home. For a place I had been waiting so long to try, the lack of flavor was a huge turnoff--especially since this spot ain't cheap. If you're coming for the ambiance, you'll have a great time. Just grab some appetizers and you'll be good to go. But if you're coming for flavorful food that makes you want to come back?
