The food was prepared quickly, but once we opened the containers, the smell was immediately off--strongly reminiscent of spoiled seafood. It was unpleasant enough that we did not feel safe eating it. The odor alone was enough to stop us, and our instinct was clearly not to consume it. My husband returned to the restaurant to address the issue. The staff did not acknowledge a problem with the food and only refunded the tacos. There was no meaningful service recovery or attempt to resolve the concern regarding the lobster or crab rolls. We ended up discarding the rest of the meal and losing close to $100. Seafood freshness is non-negotiable, and unfortunately, this experience raised serious concerns. Went Saturday around 1pm. Stuffed avocado was to ripe very hard and cold. If they would have grilled the avocado to make it soft and warm and seasoned!! I've heard of Lobster Dogs food truck, but was surprised to see they have a brick and mortar in Denver! It's been awhile since I've had a roll so I was excited to stop in. I got the standard roll and added Cajun butter. It was delicious. Nice big chunks of lobster meat and claw, just what I like. The restaurant is huge and has a pub inside. Out front, a few tables where you can sit with your dog or your smoke. Mrs. had the classic Lobster Roll, which is the usual toasted and buttered hot dog bun topped with lobster. For a first timer, I suggested "cold" and it was a good portion. Different than ones I've had in Maine and Massachusetts, this had less celery and less mayo. It was almost straight lobster and she enjoyed it. I chose the Cali Dog, which is also a lobster roll but is also topped with sliced avocado and bacon bits and a chipotle ranch sauce. Tried Lobster Dogs for the first time. I've frequented Maine and this was a tough comparison. The lobster seemed a little rubbery for my liking. The bread was spot on good. I would like to see more variety of a Connecticut roll and traditional Maine roll. The service and vibe in the place was good and like that they have a pay it forward board. read more

Familiar with their Food Truck since it was a periodic feature at the Club House at Trilogy where we live. The Food Truck still exists but they have since added a Brick and Morter Restaurant on Highway Business 16 in Denver. Picked up three of four times at the Food Truck and always took it home and ate it there. We decided to try the physical restaurant last weekend and to dine in. Essentially the same menu but with the addition of Beer and Wine and a place to sit down and eat in peace. My wife had the classic Lobster Roll while since I love Avocado, had the Cali Roll. On the whole, a bit dry compared to what I am used to. Same for the Food Truck and I had hoped the Restaurant would be a bit more moist. Portion size is ample but still not worth the prices they charge for the items although there are less expensive items on the menu such as Crab Rolls and Shrimp Rolls. Let's put it this way. Have gotten fare from Lobster Dog's food trucks before and was glad to hear they opened a brick and mortar in Denver, NC. My wife and I went for lunch to try it out and came away happy. We each got a lobster roll and then I had to try even more stuff so also ordered a crab roll and one of their new hot dog offerings, The Biff, which includes "dog dip", sautéed onions and Carolina sauce. Would always recommend the lobster roll and I thought the hot dog was a tasty menu addition. Crab roll though? Plenty of crab but it was essentially tasteless so will skip in the future. The amount of lobster on the roll was a fair amount, not a lot, but not too little. The taste of the meat was good, sweet and fresh. Tried Lobster Dogs out last night. First time. Saw an ad on Facebook about cheesesteak specials an 1/2 price wine. Wife said yes, so we headed out just after six. First, just a bit confused by the ordering counter. Guess they do a lot of take out? Guy said to head over to the bar and the bartender would take care of us. Bartender came over, got our drink order. The table had menus on, so we looked as we waited for our drinks. Drinks arrived and we ordered one hot lobster dog and one full size cheesesteak. Couple of minutes later the lobster dog arrived. It looked great, but the presentation...??..sitting on a dinky little throw away paper basket? This was a $19.00 sandwich!! Bartender never brought any utensils, plastic or otherwise, so we made do with our hands. A few minutes later, guy brings the cheesesteak over. Just that though...cheesesteak wrapped in aluminum foil. Boom dropped on the table. Again no utensils, and it wasn't even sliced in two. As we were finishing, bartender came by to ask if I'd like another wine, I declined and asked for the check. She dropped off the electronic gizmo, paid, tipped, and left. Conclusion. Service was OK. Food was good. Fresh, hot, good flavor. Tried them while they were at Primal Brewing. It was ok. We had the crab roll and lobster roll. They were generously stuffed. More than 36$ for both and they don't come with a side or drink. It was nice to try but not really something we would ever crave or want more of. read more
