Not a bad pub for a small town, especially if you're in a group enjoying some karaoke or some nice weather on the patio. The service used to be hit and miss, but has actually been quite good over the last year. I have found the female owner less than friendly on occasion. Food was good but menu very confusing. You would think that fish and chips meant a fish and some fries. Wrong. The fries are considered a side dish and there is no option for coleslaw. The turkey club was OK but the Henry 8th roast beef was very hard to eat as kept falling apart. Fish and chips better at Pilot House or Rose and Crown. They come with fish, chips and coleslaw on one plate, no extra charge. Service was fast. read more

We arrived for dinner greeting was friendly. Service was ok. Food I would not recommend. We ordered penne with vodka sauce and shrimp. Instead we revived plain unflavored marinara sauce with shrimp thrown on top and looked like it was an after thought. The chicken Alfredo was dry and overloaded with onions. We did have wings which we enjoyed. So if you want drinks and pub food I say try it. Stay away from the entrées ! read more

1) Blatant Fraud - Slide on Digital Video Sign visibly on display in restaurant clearly states "Get your dinner free on your birthday when you dine with at least one other person. When server took order (for 4) and I presented my ID indicating my birthday she advised that was actually not the case - that I could order a free appetizer or dessert (which I did not need or want) up to $15.00 I pointed out the sign, we read it together and she agreed that what she was telling me was not what the sign advertised, but completely balked at the suggestion that they actually honour what was advertised. The best I got was a shoulder shrug and a "whatcha gonna do?" half giggle. Ended up ordering nachos nobody needed or really wanted just to not get completely took. In retrospect we should have just picked up and left at that point. 2) Blatant incompetence - Out of 4 orders 3 of them were delivered wrong in some capacity - One salad with no dressing, one side of mayo I was charged for and never did get, and one dish with a side of onion rings instead of fries. When we called the server over to straighten things out, she had the gall to challenge us, saying "No-you ordered the onion rings. I remember..." When it was asserted again that the order was indeed for fries, she (snottily) offered to get some fries on, but by then we said we would just take the rings. Server took this opportune moment to remind us that the rings were AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE over the fries!! No, young lady. Just No. The food was reasonably prepared and was served hot, but overall mediocre at best. Similar to what you could expect at any number of the soulless franchises usually found around movie theatres. As the coup de gras, it took us an extra 15 minutes to pay the bill and leave because we had to track down and wait for the server to credit the birthday nachos she hadn't taken off the bill. Bottom line - Worst birthday dinner ever and the last time I'll ever see the inside of that place again. ***The following to this review from the Owner Derek Valentyne on a different review site says it all about this establishment's adversarial approach to customer 'service' - At no point are any of the complaints addressed or even acknowledged, nor is any accountability taken. They have the usual Alexander Keith's beers, Guinness, crappy bud & bud light, Stella, and my favourite Steam Whistle. I did not try their food, looked like standard pub fare. Free wifi (ask for the password). Most importantly, this place _seems_ to be the only pub that's open late in downtown Napanee (note the LCBO closes at 6 on Friday's) The bartenders are pretty hot and curvy! read more

My fiance and I are in town for work for a few days and inquired about a patio reservation for this Pub. We were rudely told on the phone that they are serving locals only. When I asked if they were checking drivers licenses at the door, the server did say no, but that they were taking phone numbers and would only be serving people that have local phone numbers. I guess it's a shame we didn't get to try it? I guess they have enough business locally that they don't have to worry about tourism? We will be back in Napanee often and definitely won't forget the way we were treated nor will we dine here. We didn't choose to travel here for work, but we do have to eat! read more

What an experience. The Waitress was all alone on a Saturday afternoon so it took 25 minutes to get a glass of water....which came with a brown tinge to it. Sent it back and ordered an ice tea. Nothing on the menu is really Gluten Free which SUCKS...and for Vegan options you're better off just not eating here. I ordered the Veggie Stir-fry....Talk about gross. The veggies were so overcooked that they were mushy, the sauce tasted like some sort of paste AND There was a Black hair in the dish....GROSS! My waitress offered to get me something else....I ordered a Salad and French Fries.....which came with Gravy when she knew I was a GF-VEGAN. Also when she first came to drop the Salad the kitchen sent her out with the wrong one which before dropping the plates at the table she realized and fixed it right away. The Salad which I did eat was okay...dressing was nothing special and some of the veggies tasted bad. My Husband got the Chicken Caesar Wrap which had little to no Chicken in it. It was basically lettuce in a wrap. He was not happy about it....but ate his lettuce wrap because he was so hungry. Total bill was around $20.....I feel like it was a waste of money for such crappy food. Their caesars are very basic, an clamato juice is served warm had to stir the ice around to make this drink slightly enjoyable, the rimmer is a basic one an they use water to hold the rimmer on, I prefer a lime juice. Disappointed. read more

Found this little local. Brewery in Napenee. Nice little place to watch a game or drink some craft brew. The food was a little a little salty and the beef I had was over cooked. They like using blue cheese is many of their dishes, if you like that then this is the place for you. I would stop in again. read more

We sat at the bar, had some pints. Servers were preoccupied. While we sat on our barstools we witnessed the bartender pour Vodka back into a bottle. We both winced in total disgust. The bartender just winked at us. We were told by a regular patron two stools over that it was a regular occurrence. A true beer aficionado would have been appalled at the lacing on our glass. Too much head, our second round we watched the bartender scoop out the head with a huge spoon! Our food was subpar. My meal wasn't anything great, burger, needed to be seasoned more. My friend's wrap wasn't stellar, he had 4 bites. By all accounts a lot better than the other pub not from this location. Will try it again, fingers crossed we get a better bartender! read more

My wife and I eat at the L&A often. The food is great. I especially love the shepherd's pie, burger and chicken wings. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. My wife can't eat anything with garlic and unlike some eateries L&A was happy to accommodate her. They have good beer selection including Harp. All in all a very good destination and if you go Saturday night you can enjoy live entertainment. read more

Always a good time to be had here, great place to make friends or bring your own. While the live bands can get a bit too loud at times, the selections of drinks and food are always great. The bartenders always try their best to please and even take requests for most cocktails if you can give them a list of ingredients. Very cozy and inviting atmosphere, a place where older folks can enjoy a beer and watch some sports, while the younger crowd does shots or sits and cackles with friends. Pub food. I had wings which were the special...one pound of wings for $6 which was a great deal. the wings came with celery and carrot sticks and some dipping sauce. I had honey garlic flavored. they were Ok, nothing special, just Ok. my dinner friends ordered the beef stew in a Yorkshire pudding bowl. They both enjoyed their meal, but it was served barely warm, (beef stew should be served hot and steamy) and the pudding was tough. read more

I have lunch or dinner here every so often, and the staff is always friendly. And are always understanding and are accommodating with my food allergies. The food is good, and i love the mixed cocktails they make. :) The bruschetta they serve is my favorite in town! read more
