The food is now well worth the trip, utilizing local ingredients across the menu, and with great attention to detail in the kitchen. The burgers are spectacular. New additions include the Canadian Bacon Cheese Burger layerd with piles of peameal bacon, and the More Bacon Burger with three different kinds of bacon on the burger with all the fixings. Add to that the amazing views from the massive waterfront patio and the Duke has taken a poor concept and completely turned it around.

(Sandbanks wine when we visited, unfortunately no local beer) Unfortunately, the restaurant was very understaffed and there was obvious miscommunication between the kitchen and the servers. (Although the servers were nice) We waited 30 minutes to hear that they were out of what we ordered. Overall, this could use some additional servers and improved communication between those who are working in the restaurant.

However it took over half an hour to get our food, at one point having to ask for an ETA which apparently annoyed the bartender/server because the service after that was horrendous. No wet naps or extra napkins with the wings, didn't ask once if we wanted a refill on our drinks. Also had the unfortunate view looking directly into the kitchen expediting station and were less than impressed with the hygiene we observed. Lastly after having to flag down for our bill because the server didn't come by once to clean up plates, he just handed us a machine although we were intending to pay by cash, still gave a generous tip but weren't even asked if we wanted change, nor did we get any sort of goodbye. Will not be recommending or returning.

The first thing that really intrigued me was how affordable everything was. We sat on the patio and got the steak and ribs. I personally really liked the food, though it is something like "you get what you pay for". The servers were nice and attentive and they also make some pretty good drinks.

The waitress must have noticed our confusion because she asked if we were waiting for out friends. We stated that we were and she brought us down the hall to this second room which was very open and definitely had a more bar feel to it. We initially picked this place due to it's cheap prices and variety of food. Service was great! Despite only one lady being both the bartender and server she was friendly and attentive and had no problem with our big group. At one point one of the plates of food she was carrying out slipped and crashed onto the floor. She quickly replaced the meal and apologized to the person in our group who ordered it. The reaction to the food from the people in our group did very from it was ok to it was great. Everyone agreed it wasn't bad and that the service and drinks were great though. I ordered spiked pink lemonade drink, and Chicken fingers with medium sauce and fries with gravy on the side. I was initially worried the sauce would make the chicken fingers soggy but thankfully it didn't. The sauce was just the right mix of kick and flavor. The fries were great, similar to a new York style of fries and the gravy was delicious. My pink lemonade drink was awesome! For only $6 it was definitely a good choice. Tasted just like pink lemonade with just a hint of alcohol Overall if your looking for a cheap place to eat with delicious drinks and decent food, this place is worth checking out!
