I'd like to make a complain about the Mansion restaurant that I and my friends went together for karaoke tonight July 9th, 2025 at 9:20 pm. When we got there my friends did not have the ID with them which didn't allow us to get in, one of them had the student ID with their date of birth and when she went there to ask the guy that was asking for those he was rude and talking at her. We decided to have food outside since they had half price, when we sat we had to called the waiter because he was just ignoring us, I asked him about the wings, price and kind which he had not idea of what he was selling. So we went inside to ask for the menu since we didn't get any. The bouncer (the guy who denied the entrance and the one who yelled at my friend) he came to me (I had the ID) and start yelling at me telling me I can't be there because we don't have the ID and there is a bar, I told him to be more polite and talk to me better since we are buying food which he just respond screaming that he is the bouncer and we have to leave and doesn't matter that we are buying food. Awful experience, this was our first time going to that restaurant and this was the service that we got. These kids that were working tonight do not have any idea of customer service. read more

Where do I begin about this amazing restaurant/bar: The service is absolutely phenomenal; the bartender and servers are so friendly and always willing to serve you. The food every-time I order it is always up to par. The atmosphere, the people; it's always a great place to come everyday, it's definitely my home away from home. I've met so many amazing people here; from the regulars, to the employees, to the owners; they are such great people to get to know and to become friends with. When I wanna go for lunch or dinner or a night of drinking; I choose The Mansion. When I'm either drinking at home or out at other bars in the Kingston area I ALWAYS end up at The Mansion for last call. It's not only close to home; The Mansion is home. read more

Whatever you do, don't come here for brunch. Didn't get spoken to for 30 minutes after we sat down. Took another 45 minutes to get our food once we ordered. Then waited 30 minutes to get the bills. All in was a 2 hour endeavor for a breakfast. Also the breakfast sucked really bad. read more

The Mansion has probably one of the better outdoor patios in all of Kingston. And I really like it for a couple drinks on a hot and sunny day. I don't really frequent the place in the winter, unless someone else suggests it or there is a band playing that's worth seeing. Despite the awesome patio, service on the patio recently wasn't all that awesome. We had a kind waitress, but things moved slowly. We did have a large group of people, but it took much longer to get water for the table than it should have. Drinks selection is good, there are lots of food options, but overall the nachos were a "huge disappointment" (so says my buddy at our table). Maybe we'll opt for just drinks next time. read more

This bar is full of Fucking liars and they told us that we would be able to get a table at 7. But when we showed up they told use they were full all night. Went to this place about 2 months ago I guess? My job took me up to Kingston and there was a huge reception being held for us and the Canadians we were working with for that few days. I didn't make it upstairs at all because the whole night was buying drinks for other people and them in return buying me drinks back. The downstairs was cool, it was a big bar with some TVs and tables for dining (typical bar/restaurant). Outside was where I thought the best part was. There was a smaller bar outside to get drinks from as well as plenty of picnic tables and chairs to sit in. We even had a boat race with the Canadians that were hosting us, I'm proud to say we won best 2/3 rounds :) I personally did not participate not being that big of a beer fan but I supported my team and even helped one of my best friends to the bathroom to throw up after helping us with that tricky third and final round. The night got even better though with the outdoor sand volleyball pit! What's not to love about drinking, playing volleyball, and heckling everybody around? After a couple warm up games and trash talking from the sidelines we finally played the game of games. I'm ashamed to admit the Canadians beat us in volleyball but I would like think it was because we had drank too much, definitely not the case but it makes me feel better ;) What a night! Free drinks, too many drinks bought for others, beer chugging, and volleyball, what more could have been asked for? It was a great night and if I'm ever back in Kingston a place I'll check out again for sure. Even after the night was over at 3 AM. on my way into a taxi I got drug out to go smoke shisha with some friends and an Egyptian girl and some of her friends in an apartment near by. The Mansion has grown on me. As a concept I absolutely love it. Live music every night? Four dollar pints? Getting rid of Philthy McNasty's?- Yes please! The downstairs is setup as a large bar. They have a bunch of beers on tap (the usual fare, Rickard's, Keith's, etc, etc) and a menu full of bar food. Upstairs is where the magic happens. The "Living Room" is set up with a stage in one corner and comfy couches, tables and some stools for guests to set up around. At some shows where its gotten a bit crowded, people just plop down on the floor or curl up next to a couch to enjoy the show. My kind of place. A wide variety of different acts come through (everything from psychedelic to punk) and some bigger names in the Canadian alternative scene have (and I'm sure will) pass through (Bruce Peninsula, Malajube). But the commitment to music every night means lots of local bands, which is a great addition to Kingston's music scene. One of the things I appreciate about the Mansion is the mixed crowd it draws. Some students, some folks from Kingston, usually a good crop of musicians that overlap the two demographics. However, everyone is there to enjoy the tunes and have a good time. read more

Went with a buddy who is a vegan for lunch and they had a really good vegan and regular menu. I got the breakfast wrap which was solid and the home fries were the best I have ever had. read more

Always have great live music upstairs. Great place to grab a drink and listen to bands; best bar in Kingston.

This is the first bar I came to in Kingston April 2013. The waitresses are very nice and patient. Beer selection is good and it is nice and cold. They have food specials written on the chalkboard (just don't get any curries here, they are not very good) They have a $8.95 selection on the menu which is somewhat great for students. Getvthe chili fries with lots of hot sauce! Taco specials I think on Tuesday's but I have to warn you, it's a flour tortilla which is a no no as a Californian. You can't call it a taco if it's with a flour tortilla. It has to be CORN people! They have great talent come in to perform upstairs and they have a bar there too. The setting is very romantic. Great food, great patio, but my server was terrible. She refuses to bring me water for the four times she came around the table (not sure whether it was on purpose). The third time I asked for it she became very impatient. It also takes a long time for her to come over. After we ate, she also asked me to personally clean up my napkins and stuff, which is really strange. Not sure if she's new or what, but this place would be so lovely if the server was a bit nicer. Went here once for breakfast with a party of around 10 and took upwards of an hour and a half to get our food. There were tables that arrived well after us that got their food first but we were students so I'm sure that was taken into account. Went here again (against my will) on a pub crawl, and they asked for everyone's ID in the party several times over the course of our stay, which was incredibly irritating. On top of that they gave us terrible service from disrespectful bartenders and gave us highball glasses for our pitchers. Just overall a bad place to go. read more

Great patio, great beer, great food, great venue to catch up with friends. Service is a bit slow, but the ambiance makes up for it.

Been waiting for my whisky longer than it would have taken to smoke a cigar. Patio staff suck! I just got it now after 15 min. I've just had a sip and the Jameson is good. Maybe it just seemed that long. I was F'n thirsty. But honestly it was over 10min for a mostly empty patio. I'm going to forget my bitching and enjoy the drink. Not angry anymore. read more
