Everything was moved and unloaded within 5 hours, which I was really impressed by. They treated our furniture with care and nothing was damaged. There were no hidden fees. My daughter attends UCSB and needed to move her furniture and belongings from one apartment to another in Isla Vista. Since we live over 6 hours away and since we knew some of the heavy furniture would be hard to carry from her second story apartment, I started researching movers in the Goleta and Santa Barbara area. Out of all the movers I called, LoadStar was the most reasonably priced with lots of very good reviews. (LoadStar charges by the hour and did not have a minimum fee, whereas several companies had a two-hour minimum. Also this company starts charging when the movers arrived at the apartment. Some companies said they start charging when their movers leave their facility. ) Once we decided on LoadStar, it the owner Joe was very responsive about setting up a moving date and time. (However, be warned that this company is very popular and luckily there was an opening late in the afternoon on the day my daughter wanted to move. If my daughter moves again, I will call LoadStar as soon as I have a moving date.) On moving day, his men called my daughter to confirm arrival time and they showed up when expected. My daughter said both men were very nice, professional and worked quickly. They were able to move her things from one apartment to another in 1 hour and 15 minutes. (She did have all her items boxed up and her furniture was ready to go .... drawers were emptied and boxed, sheets off bed, etc.) After the move was finished, I called Joe and was paid by credit card. This was my daughter's first time moving on her own and she was very happy with the experience. She told me she'd recommend that we use LoadStar again for any future moves she may have. Finally, the cost of the movers was about the same as the gas cost for my husband and I to drive to SB and back and with no risk of throwing out our backs, hiring LoadStar was well worth it! read more

i have nothing but great things to say about joe and his guys at loadstar movers. i called over 7 companies in town before choosing this one. i only had a single room to move with a twin bed and a desk and around 40 boxes. most places were telling me it would take them a minimum of 4 hours which is crazy for the small amount of things i had. most places had minimums of 2-3 hours plus driving fees and all were over $150/hour. loadstar moved me in two hours including driving time, two guys came and very carefully & efficiently loaded all my stuff and walked most of it up the three flights of stairs at my new place. they were respectful around my desire for them to wear a mask due to covid which was also super appreciated. i cannot say enough good things about this company. being a business owner myself it starts from the ground up and Joe was super friendly, helpful and accommodating and his pricing is super fair and reasonable. i have recommended his company since and will continue to refer and use his services whenever needed. so glad i found you!! read more

LoadStar Movers was great! Tina was extremely efficient helping me pack our kitchen and laundry room prior to the move and the guys ON the move were phenomenal. They were of course strong and very careful with all of our furniture and boxes but were also some of the nicest movers we've met. Our move was complicated with many stops but they were extremely efficient. Also, there was one small outdoor light fixture that was damaged in the move and instead of doing the standard insurance rate, which would have come out to a few dollars, Joe proactively offered to give us more than enough to replace the light. I also never had to bring it up. The team lead told Joe about it and Joe called to ask how the move went, and I was so happy with the day I had actually forgotten about the light. We had a large move recently. Both houses involved narrow driveways with tricky turnarounds. We also had several heavy, bulky and expensive furniture pieces to be moved as well as some fragile items. Joe and his crew provided excellent service to us and tailored their vehicles to our needs, in some cases using pickup trucks to get large expensive pieces in and out. Joe was on site for part of the move involving the most fragile items. He and his crew are polite, patient, honest and professional. When I recently moved, I received a referral to Joe Vaccaro's Loadstar company from my realtor, who is well-respected and has extensive knowledge of who provides good service in the community. When I first met with Joe, he was friendly, reassuring, and presented me with several options for the best and most cost-effective way to get the contents of my apartment moved. I was impressed with his attitude that he and his crew could work with my specific needs and be flexible. The price quoted was more than fair. He was easy to communicate with when I phoned prior to moving day with a couple of questions. On the day of the move, the crew, which is personally led by Joe, arrived on time with Israel, his excellent team leader, and 3 more polite and efficient men. They were very careful and respectful of all my belongings (in fact, not a thing was damaged in the process.) My furniture was being moved into a 3-story townhome, and included an oak upright piano and-queen sized beds which were to moved up to the top floors. Though the piano was extremely difficult to move up the narrow staircase, the crew was very persistent and uncomplaining and were able to get it moved. When the queen size boxspring absolutely would not go up the stairs, Joe was able to get his handyman friend out to the house right away to cut (and repair) the wood frame so it would go up! This was all done within the agreed-upon time frame and within budget. A few days later, when I realized there was one more heavy item (a fireproof small safe) which was still in the apartment, he got that moved to the new place without any hassle for me. This Sunday I had to move, yet again! I called my favorite guys, Loadstar Movers to help me and thank goodness I did, because I had no one but a three year old by my side! The Loadstar guys are beyond amazing. They are fast and so careful with all my things. I had to move most of my stuff into storage because I am still looking for a place right now, and the guys were kind enough to wrap my breakable furniture in their blankets. Loadstar did a fantastic job for us. We scheduled a quote, Joe came by and gave it. I considered the pricing for a couple of days, comparing with friends. Loadstar seemed an average price. We scheduled the move and I changed my mind on the time, they accommodated the change without a second thought. I was concerned about the upcoming rain, Joe assured me it wouldn't be a problem. It wasn't! The guys came in, worked fast - even with some rain and came in at the expected price. The crew wrapped some items in plastic for extra precaution.
