Lumbar Liquidator shoppers beware. My friend and I were both remodeling our houses at the same time and saw that Lumbar Liquidators was having a sale. First off, stay away from any odd lot stuff here...actually stay away from anything on sale here. My friend bought hardwood that was on sale and when the installers were putting her wood in, they stopped halfway to show her that practically all of the wood was warped and not installing correctly. She tried to return it to Lumbar Liquidators and they tried pulling the "as-is you can't return it" card on her but they finally let her return it. She not only had to pay the installers for their work with the warped wood, but also had to pay them to take the wood back up and she had to haul that heavy wood back to the store. I bought some more expensive wood there. $4.00 a foot hardwood and they installed fine so this place is hit or miss, but our problem is that we are still waiting for the stair nosing to come in (that rounded piece for the stairs) which we have already been waiting a month for. So now we have our living room dining room installed and our stairs look like crap because LL keeps telling me its on back order. The lesson here is that you can get good priced wood...if you are lucky. The problem with this place is that yes, it can be a good deal but all of the inconveniences you encounter may not be worth it. Also, get your own installers. We found installers for $1.50 a foot and they installed the floors perfectly. Other places and other independent contractors were quoting us 2.50 - 3.00 a foot for installation. Just do your homework, and you can save a lot of money. I would say to stay away from anything at lumber liquidators that is under $4.00 a foot. Its under $4.00 a foot for a reason. read more

Great and easy place to find flooring. Samples are free. Employees are easy and helpful to work with. Many locations and good prices. They seem to have sales all of the time, almost seems like weekly. The only negative thing is that they flooring typically isn't in the location and they have to order it. They don't delivery to my knowledge, so you have to have a truck to pick up when the flooring arrives. They sell all sorts of accessories for transitioning the flooring to another room. They sell underlayment and other accessories. Usually it takes 1-2 business weeks to get the flooring in. They are helpful and will take full boxes of flooring back, if necessary. read more

We had been shopping around for flooring for a week before we finally made it here and I wish we had started here!! The staff were so incredibly helpful, professional and most importantly friendly! We were lucky enough that we caught the click vinyl flooring we liked on sale and Danny told us the sale was ending on the following Tuesday but he would honor the price if we called. We talked it over with our contractor and decided it would work for our condo and called Danny to place our order. When we went to pick up our flooring the price had dropped by 10 cents a sf so amazingly they gave us a refund for the difference without hesitation. We pulled around the back so they could load everything into the car for us and were friendly while doing it. They let us know about their refund policy (a month if the boxes weren't open) and sent us on our way. We ended up needing to buy a couple of transition strips which were in stock and we picked up easily. Our floors look spectacular!! We didn't have them do the install as they were about double what our contractor was (although their price was still lower than other quotes we rechecked); but the floors look great! We were concerned that the return process would be a nightmare but boy were we wrong. We walked in, gave them the phone number and they asked how many boxes; they went to the car; grabbed them all, carried them in and refunded the money right back to the card. When husband and I bought our condo, it came with *awesome* cream-colored wall-to-wall carpet, complete with cat pee stains, food crusties, and unidentifiable spots I don't want to think about. Despite the practicality of light carpet and the allure of the random spotting, our first order of business was to rip it all out. And our pipe dream was to install hardwood. Enter the impoverished, first-time homeowner's answer to flooring pipe dreams, Lumber Liquidators. I wanted eco-friendly (not to mention more affordable) bamboo but didn't want the kind that looks like literal slices of bamboo laid on the floor. I didn't want to feel like I was living in Gilligan's hut. And since this place *is* a "liquidator," we didn't want anyone trying to take advantage of us. We did a lot of research about bamboo flooring *before* heading down to LL and knew exactly what we were looking for (floated vs. glued, engineered vs. natural, carbonized vs. untreated, stranded vs. whole), how much it should cost (renewable flooring on average is much cheaper than hardwood), and the right questions to ask the staff. An educated consumer definitely has the edge at a place like this. We drove out to the warehouse to see what was new and exciting in the world of lumber. LL had a wide variety of bamboo options to choose from, including horizontal which resembles true hardwood more than the vertical. We made our selection -- a bargain at under $2 per square foot -- and ordered enough for our space after consulting with one of the LL employees. LL helped us find an affordable and reliable contractor to do the work, and our bamboo was delivered with enough time for it to season in the condo before they came to remove the carpet and lay the new flooring. After 4 long months my floor installation has finally been completed. To keep a long story short I will write mostly about LL. When ordering our floors we were told everything was in stock, however a week went by and we were notified it was actually on a 5 week backorder. Ugh! This is my only real gripe with LL. My contractor ordered way too much material, which I discovered near completion or 4 months after initially ordering. When I went to return the unused material to LL the agent at the counter was extremely helpful. The manager was not present so he was acting in his stead. He noted the 30 day return policy, but instead of acting like a mindless bureaucrat, he listened to what had happened and issued the refund. The amount refunded was only a small portion of my total purchase from the store, but he treated me the way a customer should be treated and for that I would use these guys again. The store manager promised a delivery date. An Install and sanding dates were all set and scheduled. When my delivery date came I was told by the store that the manager messed but by promising a delivery date. The manager did not contact me but one of his employees did. My install date and sanding/staining dates were all pushed back weeks because of the fault of the stores manager. Go to another store or just completely just skip lumber liquidators. It's funny how everyone's experience at any one place can be polar opposites. In my experience the Lorton Lumber Liquidators was very helpful and caring. From the guys at the front desk who correct an error that Lumber Liquidators made online going as far as to call my local store to make sure the part was in stock. Unfortunately my online experience with this company was not so good, the seemed like a bunch young no caring teenagers. When my vehicle was loaded the guy who loaded my vehicle with was very jovial, caring and quite frankly awesome at his job. LL Flooring - Lorton - Building Supplies Near Me - Lorton, Virginia

Two weeks ago, Lumber Liquidators was having their YARD SALE. We wanted to change our flooring from carpet to laminate. Mike showed us some samples, suggested something that he had in his home. The sample, was too dark, the color does not work in our home. Nice selection of materials. A few days later, the installer came out to do the measurements. Advised that a free measurement for estimate. Note there's two separate contracts, one for flooring materials and one for install. A day later we needed to revise the contract., Could not reach the installer after a text and two voice messages. Strange that we got an email that the flooring had been ordered , when clearly we came home with a sample to choose from, and had not made any decision on the color yet. The HOLD became an order, THAT WE DID NOT MAKE and after our conversation with Jessica at LL, they cancelled it. Visited the store a week later to make a final choice on the color and the installer was in the store. Alledged that his phone was acting up, SO HE DID NOT RECEIVE TEXT OR CALL. Suspicious? Now the crux is the materials delivery. Delivery was quoted by "Mike" the manager, to be $300, for delivery curbside, then another price to bring it inside the house, and finally $775!!! to place it in the basement, wher it was to be installed. I said, you must be kidding me.... I never heard of such!! Ok, every installer that we've EVER contracted had reasonable delivery charges or a minimal charge, if not free.. Most installers are in charge of what they need for the project and handle this as part of the install. Thanks to Mike, we decided not to use LL, because it is really a HASSLE to give them your business. Now the installer is calling me because he alledged that no one at LL told him that we called and decided not to do flooring, because of the POOR customer service . They really need to get it together. I would advise, that you check other FLOORing centers or another location, unless you are a do it yourselfer. Time is Money. We had a five-star experience with Mary Polk (manager) and the Lumber Liquidators store in Lorton. We are not wealthy and we have little experience with contractors, so the whole remodel experience put us a bit on edge. (know the feeling?) We visited Lumber Liquidators (and various competitors) literally about 5 times to try to pick out flooring that would work. The staff was friendly and they patiently showed us the ropes. Eventually we decided L.L. was a good value and we did put in a $3.5 K order. If you are new at this: realize that the Lorton store is a showroom, so you can't just walk in and walk back out on the same day with 13 boxes of flooring. Decide and put in your order 10 - 14 days out if possible. In our case, Mary promised the wood floor would be in-store on a certain day and she called me that very day to report it was in. Furthermore, the quality of the Bellawood solid flooring was excellent. And mid-project, when the contractors were swarming our house and we suddenly needed to put in an order for extra "stair nose" and "shoe nose" trim, Lumber Liquidators really put on the hustle to get it delivered straight to our house and on the exact day promised. Finally, it turned out we had a whole extra box of flooring and they credited us for the return with zero hassle. So based on our experience, let me say that we found Lumber Liquidators in Lorton to be on-the-ball and trustworthy. Highly recommended. read more

The showroom is relatively small but still has many different flooring options on display, and the staff are very knowledgable and friendly. My husband and I received great service from everyone at this store, but especially Mike, the Manager. I'm shocked to see so many negative reviews. These guys actually took the time to explain to us the difference between different types of laminate and really worked with our budget to select the right type of floor. We had gone to Home Depot several times before and the customer service was seriously mediocre. We couldn't find someone who spoke decent English to help us. The one person who sat down to "help" us was new and didn't know what she was doing. I highly recommend this place, especially if you know nothing about flooring and want to ask a thousand questions before buying anything. read more

Customer Service here sucks! Mike the store manager needs to learn to 'manage' in a nicer way. We drove all the way from Chantilly to Springfield because they had the amount in stock that we needed. We went in asking about the sale signs that were all over the surrounding streets and he said no way we were getting a sale price. IT WAS OVER APPARENTLY... yes he spoke with enough attitude capitals are necessary. Then we asked about a few different styles and if they had the amount we needed in stock (they didn't have those styles in the Chantilly store). He was so lazy! He told us to just tell him what one we wanted and he would order it. The reason we drove an hour each way in traffic was to purchase a large amount of laminate wood flooring.. that day! Not order and wait for 3 weeks. I liked a few different styles and needed to know what amounts he had available so I could choose. He was so rude to us! I had never purchased from lumber liquidators and I definitely will never go back! So then as we are looking over a few different styles another customer walks in and he was so polite to this guy! The guy asked about the signs clearly advertising a sale and Mike said yes, what did you have in mind, of course we can do something for you even though the sale is over. What a jerk! I would have happily drove back to the Chantilly store just because Mike was the rudest manager I have had the 'pleasure' of meeting in a very long time. THe only problem was, each store has different styles in stock. Chantilly seemed to have less products to choose from :-( I wish I didn't give them my money. Definitely shop elsewhere if you care about customer service, reliable information (upselling bs with Mike) and education about the floors. read more

We ordered laminate flooring here; the prices were about the same as most other places and the flooring was in within a reasonable time. However, the customer service their is poor and their employees were rude every time we went to this store. We had a ton of extra flooring, but our contractor took awhile to install it, so by the time I wanted to take it back it was past their 30 day policy. Which is understandable... and rules are rules, whatever. But when I called to see if I could return it without knowing the policy, the woman I spoke with was SO unapologetic and completely rude on the phone, it made me wish I hadn't given them our business in the first place. read more

Don't buy here. I was sold a pallet of 11 boxes of laminate wood wrapped in plastic. Once they were delivered we realized that five them were opened and the goods were falling out. There was no way we could have known that the boxes were broken open until the wrapping was taken off the pallet - it was deceptive. They offered to replace them with unopened boxes but I am supposed to take them back to the store and bring the unopened ones myself or pay for the delivery. read more

Lumber Liquidators sells poor exotic hard wood and uses a bargain rate installer. I first purchased mahogany. To save money, I removed our laminate flooring and I picked it up myself. I pulled my truck around to the back of the store and my wood was laying in a puddle, in the middle of the parking lot. I took was want wet and made them provide replacement boxes for the wet pieces. When I made the complaint the worker that helped my load the wood gave me a hard time about it. We let the wood acclimate and had the lumber liquidators installer begin the installation. After an hour into it, I noticed gaps in between the boards. I asked them to stop and contact a LL rep to inspect the wood. The product was mismilled. They blamed in on the mill in Brazil. LL attempted to make it right and offered any other species as a substitute. We chose blood wood, a slightly more expensive product. We waited for the order to arrive and acclimate. I schedule the same installers and wouldn't you know it, this product was misfiled too. I again called the LL rep. They said I could either start again, get a refund, or continue and they would provide more boxes. Since my family had walked on plywood foes for about 2 months, we decided to go with option three, proceed and order more boxes. The installer broke a lot of board and blamed the unusually hard but brittle material. They used lots of putty to cover the gaps which was not initial apparent to us. They had to order even more boxes be as there was so much waste. LL made me sigh a waiver to proceed so I did. After a few months and a change in seasons the gaps became very obvious. I contacted LL but they washed their hands from me because I signed a waiver. Two years later I replaced the floor because it was so bad. This was a $35,000 mistake. The new installer said the the old installer, ALLWOOD, of MD, didnt use staples but cleats because it's faster. LL also recommended a under floor laminate that is supposed to reduce noise. My new installer said this is not recommended by the the hardwood experts NWFA and NOFMA and likely attributed to the gaping and difficulty of installation. LL getting and up charge. The new installers also said the ALLWOOD didn't even nail down some of the boards. Altogether, a terrible product and installer working together. To make a buck and not provide a fair product for consumers. I'm quite the expert on floors now, guess I learned a lesson as we'll. My tip to you is no not use Lumber Liquidators. Why do you think they call it liquidators...getting rid of substandard product. ALL WOOD installers out of MD rely primarily on LL for business soothe tip is to never use the product sellers installer. Good luck to you, please don't make an expensive mistake. read more

Went in the first time with very little idea of what I wanted to do. Sales person listened and made some suggestions. Didn't think she was right, but we took a sample home. Ended up that she was right on and we chose her suggestion as the best option for us. Went back to purchase the wood and tried to estimate in some extra boxes. The sales guy actually talked me down to a lower amount. He was right on and we only ended up with two extra boxes. Was easy to return the extra items. Only issue I had was their 20% restocking fee on the extra items, but the good customer service and experience makes up for it. We recently changed an entire level of our home from carpet & old hardwood to new hardwood. The team at this location is great. We were working on a tight budget & they made everything work within it. They gave us great advice on the types of floors & we are very happy with the final outcome. After the floors were installed we had a lot of extra wood, nails, etc & they returned them with no problem. We just bought hardwood flooring @4.19 per sq ft. It was Pinot Oak which is a reddish brown like cherry. We got a lot of damaged wood where the forklift drive rams into the boxes and scars up the wood. It is usually on the bottom of the box where you don't see it until you get home. Also they are pulling pieces out of boxes to make up for damaged wood in other boxes. So don't be surprised if your box is open that pieces have been robbed from them. Make sure that if before you sign the paper you don't accept any boxes that are damaged. If the box is damaged the wood is damaged and once you sign the paper it is too bad so sad. I asked the manager to make sure I got 4 undamaged boxes as the other 3 times I went I got damaged wood. He assured me I would and then the guy who drove the forklift brought me 4 of the worse boxes he had. They were the end of a pallet and he didn't want to open a new one so he told me they were the last 4 boxes. I refused to accept it this time and asked for the manager. He raked the guy over the coals and said it is BS since they had 1000 sq ft of the same flooring. He said give him 4 good boxes and I ain't gonna tell you again.
