What was supposed to be a 1.5 - 2 week remodel stretched out to 5 weeks just to hit about 85% completion. During that time, basic contracting protocols were ignored: despite promises during our pre-bid meetings, no dust / flooring protection was installed until well into the project; beams were cut without shoring up before installing heavy material on the floor above; and ultimately, the contractor left the project incomplete and would not return calls, texts, or emails. After 3 weeks of silence, I had to hire another GC to finish the project and also fix construction errors from Ingersoll and their subs. I will not consider them in the future.

There was one riser in the staircase that still needed to be completed, but after the final payment, it seemed like a game of phone tag. I understand that it is a small piece of a much larger job, but usually a business will see their work through until the very end. Not the case with this company. I advise any parties interested in having their floors redone, seek another company. The work that was performed was very well done, but if it isn't finished, how can you admire a completed project.

We asked them to make sure that the tile we were purchasing would have that same coarse texture, and we were told it would. So we bought several boxes of tile, and lo and behold, it was smooth, not coarse. Not a big deal, we just return it, right? They charged us a FIFTY DOLLAR restocking fee to take back tile that we only bought because they made a mistake. Absolutely unacceptable. There are plenty of other tile places to go without having to risk dealing with these scumbags.

But in true homeownership fashion, we were only able to complete the upstairs of our bi-level house, leaving us to save up to finish the lower level. Thank god for bonus's and COVID money, as that day finally arrived just 2 weeks ago! At the recommendation of our neighbor, we scheduled a quote with Valley Hardwood Floors with Joe - the main lead/bossman. He made a few measurements and got our quote back to us in just under 24 hours - at a killer rate (just $2k for carpet tear up/removal/foor prep/installation of new floor, baseboards and caulk!!). So as soon as our flooring was delivered, we asked for Joe's team to get the job done, which was available the following week! Although Joe stated that the team would show up bright and early at 8am Monday morning, 8am came and went without a word. Around 9AM, we called and Joe explained they were finishing up another job and would be over early that afternoon. Upon arrival, I was surprised to see just one member of Joe's crew (Sarvino!) ready to work, and quickly realized he would be doing all the work for us. We walked him through what we wanted done, and after a quick call to Joe, the ONE man slayed the day....and the next three. Sarvino worked his butt off to rip out all the carpet, prep the floor, hand cut each floorboard for the entire lower level (closets included), applied trim and caulk - all within 3 days, by HIMSELF!! I was beyond impressed with his motivation, drive, attention to detail and ability to complete this monumental task all by himself! Despite the low rate, we compensated him for his great work and job well done! I was and still am beyond happy with the outcome, as our house looks entirely different! Thank you to Joe and Sarvino for making our house, feel more like home!

However, they didn't properly protect my house so my entire house was covered in dust including my HVAC and ducts. I notified Joe when my AC went out and he paid to fix it. Fast forward into the winter months, when I started up my heating system, there was still so much dust, it started a small fire. My heater then went out so I contacted Joe. No response this time since my bill has been paid unlike last time. Fair warning, they do a fabulous job with your floor but prepare to shell out extra cash to pay to clean your house, clean your ducts and fix your AC and heater. Joe paid for the AC to be fixed but I shelled out an additional $1000 for house cleaning, duct cleaning and heater repair.

BROTHERS FLOORING!!!!…read more My parents installed our hardwood floors over 20 years ago so saying these floors were rough is an understatement, add in that we have also had dogs the entire time... Meaning that these floors were really really bad (deep scratches, urine stains, deep ingrained grime, water damage from dishwasher/ dog bowls, etc..). I also needed the master bedrooms' carpet removed and LVP installed. I spent hours researching the best company in the area and had many come to our home to give me a quote which ranged from over $8,000 to $4,000. The lower end had the least reviews but they seemed to care the most and the most honest review of my floors. I needed to rush the work so they were able to move things around and Chad showed up 3 days later to start the work. LET ME TELL YOU- Chad is amazing. He was so friendly, honest, personable and I trust him 100% with my parents and our home. It only took 3 days for him to make our home look AMAZING (refinish the floor and install LVP) . At the beginning, Rodney showed up between 9 and 10 AM and left between 2 and 3 PM. This was discussed several times to no avail. About 3 fourths of the way into the job he began showing up around 8 AM and quitting around 3 PM. His son Rodney Jr. worked hard and did a great job, although he was slow, but not as slow as Rodney Sr. They tore out all three bathrooms including showers and tub for several weeks. This included no functional toilet for full days at a time. Neither Rodney' Sr. nor Jr. were certified electricians so with Rodney's concurrence, I use my grandson, a certified electrician, to do all the electrical work. Rodney indicated he had done a lot of back splashes so he would do mine. He did a terrible job, cutting the tiles too short at the outlets. When I told him it was not right he attempted to correct the situation, but couldn't. My grandson fixed them. Rodney left pieces out and filled the spaces with caulking. It looked horrible so my grandson is fixing them. Don't let him do your back splash. Rodney will never give you a financial breakdown. He said the prices are in the contract. There are many items in each paragraph with a total, price but he will never give you an individual cost. Rodney argued on some of the punch list items. I was presented a final bill of around $15,000.00, which went to $18,000.00. After a fairly heated discussion Rodney reduced the bill to $13,000.00. With no accountability, except for my spreadsheet which showed my cost for everything I bought, I paid him to get the job completed and done with. I certainly made the wrong choice for a contractor, DON"T YOU.
