It's a fun store to browse and shop although today's visit was brief. The shirt I wanted was right at the front door! It's as if they expected me!? I have trouble getting shoes that fit correctly so it was helpful to do a try-on in the shoe department. Prices were high but that seems to be true of all retail clothing stores.

My mother wanted to visit the flagship store in Maine. It was the very first L.L. Bean store that opened. It was great to see on are trip and we had a great time visiting. I loved the big boot outside of the door. The store is located in a shopping center and there are other nearby stores and shops to enjoy.

I've visited this store several times and always had a positive experience--until today. I was surprised by the number of dogs inside, many of which were not service animals and gave off a strong, unpleasant odor. While I love dogs (I've rescued many myself), I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a clean, fresh-smelling shopping environment, especially in a store like L.L. Bean, where prices reflect a certain standard. Unfortunately, I found dog hair on the merchandise, which isn't something I would expect from a premium retailer. I truly hope L.L. Bean will reconsider its policy on pets in stores. As much as I appreciate dogs, I believe customers should be able to shop comfortably without dealing with the issues that come with bringing pets into retail spaces. L.L. Bean, please do better.

Here's all you need to know: Bring your pocketbook. While this store is HUGE and has every high performance/high quality item you may need, it comes at a price. As soon as you enter, there is an employee directing customers and even more employees assisting you once you get to your destination. While browsing, there are several informative and compelling displays throughout the store. See my moose display photos. On the premises, there is a stage and lawn for their free summer concert series. Located outside is the big LL Bean boot which everyone takes a photo of. For refreshment, there are a couple shops across the street like Ben & Jerry's for ice cream.

I do not own LL Bean products, but still wanted to see the company store. It is everything LL Bean. The grounds are large and there is an area for concerts and entertainment, Ben and Jerry's and several large buildings with specific products, I.e. home, boating etc. The store is open 24 hours . It was interesting to walk around the store, look at the many displays and all the merchandise. It is definitely something to see.

This store is gigantic! I was honesty surprised with the wide selection, literally everything you need to enjoy the outdoors. LL Bean is in the pricier side, but the quality of their product is excellent. We had a lovely conversation with the cashier who gave us some great tips for lunch in the area. The entire campus is beautiful.

I just got their boiled wool slippers for Christmas and am in LOVE with them...so comfortable and padded inside and they allow your feet to breath which is nice...the soles are also fantastic for going outside on our "catio" or balcony during the cold weather to get some fresh air!

I love this store! It's had to leave Tampa so I'm visiting family. It's so cute and cozy here. i feel so safe.

Obviously I would never hold that against the store or let it affect their rating. However, when I went inside and explained to the greeter that a vehicle had been hit and asked if she wanted to check whether the victim was one of their employees, she said that employees typically don't park in that lot, customers do, and seemed very unconcerned. When I said I just wanted to let someone know in case the victim came inside and could she tell them that I called the police and gave them the person's license plate, the employee asked me if I wanted her to call a manager out. I was just really put off by that as this is the first point of contact for people entering the store and I just genuinely wanted to try and help. We did spend some time in the store and in the compound. I like that they have an entire section where you can customize products and gifts and have them embroidered. I haven't seen that before and I thought it was really neat. I didn't care for any of the products that they were offering at that time which qualified for the embroidery, but if that's something you're looking for, they offer it here. They also had dog items and the store is dog friendly. We brought our pup in with us but again she just didn't find any toys that were the right size or that she was interested in. The trip here was kind of a bust for us but I can see why some people might enjoy shopping here. We were told by another traveler that this is a great place to stop for deals, but I didn't see many of those either. There's a campus comprised of multiple buildings and that was a bit confusing. It also seems like it would be easier just to have everything under one roof, but that's just me personally.

Perhaps, only if you're seeking the smallest game on a very short trip. Is there really such a thing ever as having TOO much? Perhaps, there is no such a thing if you're a "responsible" prepper or an avid enthusiast seeking to advance yourself to handle just about ANY situation thrown your way - including the apocalypse. I definitely do not believe there is such a thing as having too much. And I can bet on it that most of the people here today at Kittery Trading Post feel the same way. Yes, the prices are mostly MSRP and sometimes higher. Yes, you can most likely (99% of the time) get a better deal elsewhere (especially online). But where can you actually have the opportunity to TOUCH everything or be likely seduced to WANT more because you weren't aware that such an item even existed? Here, at KTP, that is exactly what happens. You think you have a particular item in mind? How about being thrown more options that most other stores even dream of carrying? Thought you liked something online? How about holding that item in person and deciding if it is the right fit for just a fraction more of the price (and avoid the need to make returns for the most part?) How about being swayed into another product because you "apparently" didn't research it enough to realize there are even BETTER options that fit your exact needs (or because it's more expensive and you can justify it in person, lol)? Kittery Trading Post is definitely one of my ultimate retail spots as an outdoor enthusiast and an avid prepper (for whatever possible events will ever unfold in my fantasies). And every time I'm here, I always leave with at least one new toy for the personal arsenal. Definitely love this place even if it's not exactly the best bang for the buck.
