    Breakfast Quesadilla

What a great hidden gem in the heart of Richland! Tried the breakfast quesadilla and it was amazing, pair it with a side of the sausage gravy DELICIOUS!

Liz's is the quintessential small town diner. With an antiquated atmosphere like you're dining in the 80's, and plenty of seating, Liz's presents a warm welcome to hungry guests. The menu is pretty big, with breakfast and lunch options, and the staff are helpful. Taylor did a great job being attentive of our needs and suggesting things we wouldn't have even thought of. They have lots of space for banquets or special groups, too. We really enjoyed our meal. The kids' menu has fun options and cheap prices. The fruity pebbles pancake was fantastic. The blueberry crunch pancakes were also a hit for the adults. All in all, Liz's is a solid option for those in the Richland area.

Michigan and Ohio Bowl that Lily served to us. Thank you Lily

Food is ok, we got the Michigan and Ohio bowl, I wish there was more of the veggies, and not overload of the hash browns . If you get the Ohio bowl ask for more spinach and tomatoes. Brett said he loved the Michigan bowl but he said it was heavy with lots of bacon. Lily was our server , she was super kind and helpful . Thank you Lily, you made our experience much better. The couple from Los Angeles . Keep smiling Lily

I have a generally dim view of the local restaurants belonging to EMA Enterprises. This group includes the Michelle's on Gull Road, on Red Arrow in Mattawan (the Old Stone Cottage), on Romance Rd. in Portage, and others. Blah. But if I had to point to a favorite of the bunch - and I use the word "favorite" in its loosest form - it would be Liz's in Richland. The menu is varied, the physical plant is big and clean, the food is good, and the service is very attentive. The prices do tend to be higher than average, however. And we have found that the kitchen always gets something drastically wrong with our order. Most recently, I ordered the Cinnamon Swirl French Toast, and the kitchen made it with Texas Toast. Sometimes the kitchen catches the mistake before we do and suddenly another plate shows up at the table. Other times the kitchen says "Oops, see if they'll take this instead" and will fix it only if we ask them to.

    Seattle Bowl

Fabulous find! We were looking for a quick breakfast place before hitting the links and stumbled upon this local gem. Wait staff were very friendly and service was great. Everything on menu looked great - had the Seattle breakfast bowl. Was everything I wanted and more! Excellent choice if you are in the area.

Decent food. Consistent. Slightly overpriced. Omelettes are average. Pancakes are humongous and delicious. Very good service.

Time to see if it was worth the stop. Y'all. It's totally worth the stop. This shop is super cute, the employees are AMAZING and the coffee and treats are top notch. My wife and I enjoyed two of their signature drinks, and our kids demolished the macarons. The menu is pretty big for a cafe, and they have their own bakers in house. When I expressed interest in ordering a cake, one of the bakers came up from the back to talk time through the cake, listing option after option. Very impressive. Let's just say I took a frequent buyer card to add some more punches down the road.

They were really good to work with as my only requirement was to have 2 birthday cake flavor macarons. The coffee was good too ;) but I got no photo. In the beginning of Covid they had a pickup/ordering window. I was slightly disappointed to see that had been removed and you must go in now, but they are requiring masks and have a table between the cashier and myself. My only thing was that because the cupcakes were refrigerated, I think that affected the crispness of the outer layer of the macarons. Last time i had one from here it was much flakier and light on the outside. Still tasted great tho!!

I'd come across them while doing my HW for the trip, but without really knowing the area, I'd thought that staying in South Haven meant I wouldn't get the chance to visit, but after stopping in to The Flying Saucer in South Haven and picking up their beans there for the house, I learned everything is kinda close on this part of the coast! This is their main location, right in the heart of Saugatuck. It's cozy and colorful, warm and inviting, and filled with some incredibly sweet people. Oh yeah. They have A LOT of great coffee too! Their specialty and seasonal drinks all sounded delicious, but I'm a purist in pursuit of the best cup of black coffee, here for the single origins and blends that are sourced and roasted by this skilled team. Walking in I was faced by a massive wall filled with beautiful bags of beans from all over the world, each labeled with notes on origin, processing and flavor profile. I set my sights on a pour over and when the cashier said I could choose anything from the wall, I was gobsmacked (that's a funny word). The range was so impressive, with great representation from all over the world, processed in all different ways, making the choice quite difficult. It's a good thing I used my time in line to look at all of the options, and I settled on a white honey processed coffee called Villa Sarchi, which was delightful. If I have one quibble it's that they didn't have an actual pour over menu and this is simply because I enjoy asking the baristas about the coffees. This spot is super hot, with a line out the door at all times, so despite the barista at the counter being incredibly accommodating, I couldn't in good conscience hold up the patrons behind me with too many questions or returns to the wall. I also tried their espresso lime tonic for a beverage to stroll with and enjoyed the slight sweet and tart drink very much on a hot day. Uncommon also has a great menu of food offerings and we had a bagel breakfast sandwich and one of their MASSIVE savory scones. I wish I'd asked or been asked about warming the scone because it definitely needed it, but holy hell this thing was packed with cheesy goodness and the perfect foil to my naturally sweet coffee. Normally I go home with one bag of coffee as a souvenir, but I couldn't help but buy two, which were in addition to the beans I also bought in South Haven! In total I think I sampled about 5 different Uncommon roasts and loved them all! I loved this place so much I looked to buy merch, but sadly they had run out of the sizes I needed. There's always next time. Or maybe they'll ship...

Incredible. Coffee wise: fair. I ordered a few specialty summer cold brews for my wife and I and they were tiny, and my wife's was well-made with cold foam and cinnamon, but mine barely had a dollop (I gave her the good one, aren't I a nice husband?) I got a black coffee on my second visit and it wasn't very good. Service: friendly but slow. I was SO glad to have pitcher on pitcher of cold brew back at the AirBNB so I didn't have to wait. The times I came, this place was popping and it (expectedly) took some time. Hours: I was out for an early morning walk in the six o'clock am hour and several other middle-aged to elderly people were circling like vultures waiting for their caffeine fix. I feel like in peak season bumping hours to 6 or even 6:30 might do numbers for them. Food: I ordered a buttered bagel for my kids the first time in and it took a long, long time. I think they forgot about it. It appeared to be a grocery store style bagel and was ok. I'm telling you, this place looks beautiful and it's got great energy. It just so happened the business and the coffee on just a few visits didn't quite land. I would definitely encourage folks to try it out, it just missed the mark more than I was hoping for.
