There is NO cafe in Michigan quite like this family-owned gym. I bumped into this treasure while filling up gas one day traveling from work back home in metro Detroit. The owner went out of her way to make me feel like a member of the Marshall family. She was professional, charming, and a great role model for her plugged in employees. I will never intentionally drive through Marshall without supporting this cafe with spectacular drinks and treats, but more importantly, MVP level human beings. I was in Rome and Paris in 2024. Logistics. On the main drag of Marshall on W Michigan Ave (Business 94), and about 3 blocks west of the Kalamazoo Ave roundabout. Vibe and First Impressions. WOW. Clean, welcoming, and chic. I chose to check this place because we love trying coffee shops, and it was a gift shop too. Hospitality. Super friendly and accommodating. Some tables inside at front, more in back, and one table outdoor Offerings. Standard coffee shop and upscale gift shop with Michigan made and vendors. There were unique gifts for entertaining, kitchen, stationery, and whimsy things. From the barista counter, we got an iced mocha and drip coffee. The condiment station had mini moos, but the barista offfered to give me real cream from a local dairy, Moo-ville Creamery. Good cream with the delicious coffee, Jamaicain Me Crazy. We also got an apple danish and egg bite. Sadly, they forgot the whip for the mocha, and heat the food items. Thankfully they fixed the issues when I brought it to their attention. Cute cafe and friendly service. Serendipity was one of the few places I found open in Marshall on a Sunday morning. A worker kindly offered me a sample of their amazing cheesecake. I don't drink coffee so I ordered a delicious refresher. Lots of cute things were for sale at the cafe. This is a great place to hang out for a drink and snack when visiting downtown Marshall. read more

The place is really big, surprisingly, and filled with lots of local merchandise to purchase. The latte I ordered was tasty. It wasn't overly sweet and I could taste the turmeric, which was nice. Everyone was very friendly and the drink came up quickly. My only reason for not putting a fifth star was the baked good situation. I asked if they baked things in house: she said no. Not a big deal. Not every coffee shop has the want or capacity to handle adding such a huge overhead. BUT, with all of the Michigan made products inside, I feel like a local or regional baker would be better than "Sam's Club," which is the answer I got as for where they get them from. Now, I am a Costco person and their baked goods are fantastic so I can imagine, Sam's Club might be similar. I just feel like there's an opportunity missed here. read more

This store is absolutely adorable! At Serendipity you will find an amazing variety of gifts, gourmet foods, home decor. Located on the main strip in Marshall, the place was a bit hard to find because they don't have the large sign on the front of their building like the pictures I saw online, but they do have a sign on the door. You can find anything from coffee mugs, candles, soaps & other body care products, and cute decor items! I could have shopped here for a while! If you are looking to treat yourself or find a gift for a friend, I recommend stopping in here! In all honesty, what drew us to go to this store was actually our search for coffee.
