MiBoba is a hidden treasure in the Kalamazoo area! Never knew I liked BOBA but now Incrace the yummy, beautiful and tasty treats from this place. Surprising to know how close this Boba cafe was to Costco and Trader Joe's which is convenient after getting gas and shopping, makes for a quick stop for bubble tea easy. Bubble tea was reasonably priced from $5-6.25 and the size is pretty good too, but they do charge extra for toppings, Boba apparently is not included unless you ask for it. They also have options for vegans, I pretty much stick with the fruit smoothie menu which was dairy free and you can also choose the assortment of lemonades they have on menu. They also have rewards and points that you can earn towards free Boba. (Which should be standard for every bubble tea place if they want repeat customers). Cafe is clean, nice for hangout out and lounging and is located along a strip that has other restaurants. People working there were friendly and good to customers. Only draw back is the bubble tea cups have tops that have a lid with an opening on the top which my son accidentally spilled in the car and on his shoes. Typically most Boba comes with a seal top to avoid such spills. read more

Such sweet staff working the counter last weekend! We stopped in for the first time and they were greater though with recommendations! I got the frappe with chocolate and tapioca boba: so good! I like this new business! The staff were nice and friendly. I tried the strawberry boba was mango stars jelly and you know what? It is now my favorite!! The strawberry is mixed with milk so you can get that creamy taste! The mango stars jelly is so sweet and chewable. The large bobba drink is for 6 dollars only! They also have bubble waffle , macroons and cupcakes. The cupcakes decorated in a cute and nice way. The macroons are $3 dollars for 1 piece, I think the macroons are pricey. Great service and selection of teas here! I ordered an iced lemon chiffon rooibos tea after dinner. One of the employees patiently took her time to let me look through the tea selection, open the tins to see and smell them, before making my selection. It was exciting to see her passion and enthusiasm for tea through the conversation. There was a really cool black tea with edible gold glitter mixed inside. According to the description when brewed, there are swirls of sparkle/gold in the tea. If it weren't so close to my bedtime I would've given this caffeinated gem a try. I can't comment on the authenticity of the bubble tea and waffles since I didn't try them, but I would definitely be back here next time I'm in Kalamazoo! read more

Atmosphere: the cafe is located conveniently at the costco plaza. Plenty of parking including accessibility. The inside is colorful and neat. Clean and organized. Service: They were nice, unfortunately had to wait an excess of 5minutes due to the cashier's lack of experience in dealing with problems... not gunna blame her for management's lack of training. The lady in front of me had issues were her payment method and the cashier didnt know what to do. This locally owned business is ready and waiting to give you an amazing experience by providing our community with refreshing drinks and amazing desserts! I failed to take pictures of all the macarons, cupcakes and other desserts available for purchase. What I was able to try was their bubble waffle with cream cap...was that ever tasty! ($6 for bubble waffle, available in different flavors ((I got the pumpkin)) and $1 for the creamy topping...that was Beth's personal suggestion) I also tried their Thai tea with regular boba. Not overly sweet, which is my preference, and refreshing. Bought my daughter their Kalamazoo cooler honey boba, made with real honey, and added brown sugar boba and honey crystals (basically a less dense boba that's vegan). Both super tasty and her little bobas were explosive with flavor. Owner was extremely pleasant and helpful (they are associated with Kalamazoo's very own Chocolatea) and had several suggestions for those of us that are usually lost upon entering any boba joints. We know Caitlin from Chocolatea in Portage and visited her new shop next to Costco. They have a delightful little shop with very functional and sturdy chairs and tables. The inside is clean and bright, the staff are very friendly, and it's the first time I've had Bubble Tea, Ube Mochi, and Bubble Waffles. It's all quite wonderful. Sweet, satisfying, and the little poppers in the bubble tea make for quite a pleasant surprise when they go up the straw, pop! We went today as a family because ever since my boyfriend's daughter had boba tea (from another business out of town) she has been begging us to go. She had her heart set on having the exact same thing at the other place and well, there was extreme disappointment when it wasn't available here. We ended up getting her a drink that we thought she would like and while it was satisfactory, it wasn't the same. One of the employees overheard us trying to find something for her and took it upon herself to create a drink that while it wasn't the same, it was a clear winner to daughter. I've been to MI boba only a handful of times, but every time has been unfortunately a waste of $. The customer service is poor, i've worked at a coffee/ tea place myself so when employees (on more than one occasion) say things such as "we can't do that" or act like it's a huge inconvenience when it's a matter of blending or putting no ice in a drink- i know it's just a matter of ignorance- laziness maybe? The pearls are insanely small, hard as a rock and flavorless. Not to mention a boba place with skinny soda straws... as you would assume that doesn't work. I would recommend Kung Fu Tea which is less than a mile from this place, where they let you customize drinks based on your preference without causing a fuss or denying to accommodate. read more

The cup of hot caramel rooibos tea was perfect on this chilly winter day today! I'm going to have to come back in to try it as a tea latte - the recommendation sounded delicious! I have loved everything I have had here so far. My favorite drink by far though has been a lychee flavored bubble tea made with boba and papaya berry herbal tea instead of the traditional black. It's hard to find places that make bubble teas with caffeine free herbal teas, and MI Boba makes a fantastic caffeine free herbal bubble tea.
