Fabulous store. Great products and customer service. Worth the road trip if you live out of town.

You can find anything from batik to civil war era to baby fabric to solids. The staff are very nice and are willing to answer questions/make suggestions. One good reason may be that there exists on the east side of town possibly (in the opinion of those who have visited there) the country's best quilt store. Its focus is quilting, quilters, and quilts. The first floor of this former hotel, boarding school, and funeral home is now taken up by a retail fabrics and sewing notions store, a classroom for quilting lessons on one entire end of the shop, and displayed throughout on its walls, many high-quality, hand-crafted, pieced quilts by local and midwest artisans. What makes this the best of its kind is the breadth of what is available for sale; the choices of fabrics coveted by many types of quilting enthusiasts, the wide variety of sought-after supplies and equipment that modern quilters need, and a broad array of books and patterns that will inspire and guide quilters of every experience range. So if your travels take you anywhere near Kalamazoo or Battle Creek in Michigan, don't miss the chance to visit Marshall and its quilt store.
