I have now attempted to visit twice but was completely turned off by the fact the owner and one other person (possibly employee) were standing right at the entryway smoking cigarettes. Major turnoff!!! It has happened twice now (once only the owner; once with two people). I tried to give them a chance. So, I went around the corner and spent my money at Rustic Market Co. I really liked the store offerings of the Jackson Candle Co. and layout of the store but until I can visit without being exposed to secondhand smoke to get in, I won't be visiting. It is small, so perfect place to stop if you do not have a lot of time. I was able to get a sage bundle that was local to Michigan, a new apophyllite stone, and some fun stickers all under $20 dollars I think. So, everything is super affordable! There were two individuals working in there while I was looking around and they both were really helpful. I joked around about one of their stickers that I had to buy. I was a bit worried what the shop might have to offer, and the lack of parking in the area (side street only and limited to only a few cars) was not a good sign. As soon as I walked through the original double doors to Elements....any negative thought I had vanished. I was immediately greeted by Kate (who also has amazing artwork available for purchase at art hop events) and welcomed into the store. The space is indeed small, but there is so much to offer! Whatever metaphysical or spiritual item you might be in search of, they have it or will consider ordering! I found lots of little Christmas gifts, some birthday gifts and many goodies for myself. I rsally love how there is a printed card for each crystal that you are able to take with you! There are plethora reading materials and quite the assortment of tarot/oracle card decks. The prices are very reasonable, and the space and staff very welcoming...I felt like family on all of my visits. They also offer special classes (times listed on their FB page) and are starting a new event for the first Saturday of each month to showcase local artistry/talents (art, music, crafts). I had seen the storefront many, many times over my years coming to town but had never gone inside so I popped in with her. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. They're a teeny shop but they have a really wonderfully curated collection of crystals and rocks, both small and some as big as the whole of your hand. There's also a fairly large selection of incense and oils, jewelry and decorative objects, books, and even a small amount of clothing. My cousin recently participated in her first craft fair selling her handmade jewelry and she dropped a nice chunk of her earnings here on some really beautiful stones for her collection! If you're into the metaphysical or just want some lovely things to smell or look at, be sure to pop in and visit them! I will definitely make it a point to stop in and visit every time I'm in town from now on.

I loved the scent blends they provided for us. The staff is super helpful and made the whole thing super fun! The most recent visit was on valentines for a date night. They were busy but we still felt like the staff was attentive and walked us through the full process. This is a luxury experience but you get both the time making candles together plus the candles, so I'd say it's worth the money. There's tons of scents and vessels to choose from and we had a blast picking and making them. Anyone with any level of "craftiness" would enjoy coming here!

I picked a base for my candle and my wife had hers turned into wax melts. They have tons of bases to pick from in all different sizes. They had so many different scents that it's honestly overwhelming. We eventually each picked a variety of scents to blend together and made our wax. The entire date didn't take very long but luckily there are tons of places to go after within walking distance. You have to come back a different day to pick up what you made once it turns into a candle!

During a recent visit to complete our annual Christmas candle shopping, my wife, children, and I had a highly unprofessional experience involving an employee named Amanda. When we asked basic customer service questions--specifically about available gift sets and whether we could check out--we were met with unnecessary rudeness and dismissive behavior. Her words and actions made it clear that we were unwelcome in the store. This visit occurred within the final hour before closing, which may explain the treatment we received, but regardless of timing, customers should not be made to feel unwelcome or uncomfortable for asking routine questions. Unfortunately, the issue did not end there. Several days later, we contacted the store to report our experience. Amanda answered the phone and stated that there was no one overseeing management at the location and refused to provide contact information for any supervisor or corporate office. My wife did not identify herself during this call, so there was no indication that Amanda knew she was speaking with the same customer from the prior visit. On a subsequent call, I again spoke with Amanda and was provided a generic Gmail address as the only point of contact for someone allegedly overseeing the location. During this same conversation, Amanda stated she was working alone, which was later determined to be untrue, as the individual whose email address she provided was physically present in the store at that time. Eventually, I did receive a callback from the individual currently overseeing the store. I was informed that the store manager was terminated earlier this year and the position has not been filled. Despite assuming managerial duties, this individual stated he is not authorized to coach employees, address performance concerns, or take corrective action. No apology was offered for our in-store experience. Additionally, I was informed that there are no formal processes or training in place at this location related to customer sensitivity, diversity awareness, emergency situations, or incident escalation to corporate leadership. This lack of oversight and structure is concerning from both a customer service and safety standpoint. Based on this experience, it appears there is little to no accountability or management oversight at this location. As a result, I cannot recommend shopping here and will not be returning.

And that is putting it mildly. My family and I were treated as almost an inconvenience, which is terribly sad as this is one of our favorite places to shop for candles and Christmas. I have worked retail/customer service since I was 16, I have dealt with everything under the sun you can think of. Our very normal shopping experience is not one that I would even remember in all my years. It is not one I could even recall. Especially with a small family business such as Swan Creek, you would think they value any and everyone coming in to spend their hard earned money on their products. One of their employees clearly felt otherwise and in front of my children made an (extremely uncomfortable to say the least) scene. Trying to talk to anyone since this incident has been like pulling teeth. I understand policies must be in place, but it has been made very clear that they do not have any procedures in place to handle something like this. Which is wonderful on one hand, meaning they don't often deal with this, and horrible on the other hand because it leaves customers on their own, with zero support from a small family business. All we asked for was follow up on training for employees, and an apology. I have never left a negative review in my life, but since no one would like to address this issue, it feels like my only resort. I'm not sure why, but I still have faith that maybe someone higher up will follow through, however it has not happened yet.
