One thing though.... two fers ala Lizard Lounge means that the bartender/tendress literally serves two you martinis at the same time. As if..... I don't give many places 5 stars but I did to this joint because of the bartender and the KJ that were there. Both were very nice. I'm from L.I. but I've been living in San Francisco for 16 years I've been home once every couple of years but I haven't really been out to any gay bars. In fact there really aren't any gay bars left on L. I., at least not like there were when I was growing up. I Googled gay bars on Long Island this place popped up and I was close by so I stopped in. It's pretty much a karaoke bar which I'm always down for and they also had video games and lots of big screen TVs. It's located in Bohemia Shopping Plaza where the CVS is. I used my Waze app to get to it and it didn't exactly take me to the exactly the right place I passed it at first and had to come back around but found it. When I walked in I told the bartender that I had Googled gay bars on L.I. and this place came up and he gave me the best response ever... He said "We're open to any type of clientele. We've had gay nights here also. But open to anyone who wants to come in." It made me very happy to hear him say that. Five star! I played a couple of games of Miss Pac-Man, had me a big tall Tecate for five bucks and had a nice conversation with the bartender. I will definitely come back then perhaps sing a little ditty as well. LOL read more

This is my favorite bar ever. I was convinced I was not a bar kind of gal until a friend brought me here. Now its my home away from home :) The owner and bartenders are kind and professional, as is the DJ. Their library of songs feels endless! They even have my favorites... Disney songs! I've been to a place in NYC and their song list did not include Disney! This is the best place to go for karaoke on the island. Worst Bar on Long Island. The staff is incredibly rude. The owner is even worse. He attacks anyone that gives his business a bad review like myself. Maybe if he knew how to treat his customers properly I wouldn't be writing this review. The bar was empty on a Saturday night. the karaoke was terrible. Be prepared to pay $3 for a glass of water if you don't buy anything. And once the owner sees that you haven't purchased anything in his establishment he'll attack you verbally. Planned my girlfriend's 30th birthday here and it couldn't have gone any better! Don't let the facade fool you, this place is actually really spacious inside. Plenty of tables, seating, and also some couches make for a comfortable and accommodating venue. A few good beers on tap and also drink specials throughout the night. Music videos, TV, and video games as well. The karaoke setup is really awesome, a big stage, laser lights, strobes, fog machine, and huge selection of songs. The owner, Jay, is a great guy and helped to ensure our experience earned its 5 star rating. If you like karaoke then you MUST get to Lizard Lounge ASAP. Tip: Friday and Saturday are always packed, so if you want to sing a lot then try another night when it's not as crazy. Highly recommended! read more

I had no expectations when I came here this past Saturday night. All I knew was I wanted to dance. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Although there was a much smaller turnout than expected for a Saturday night, those who were there all seemed to be having a good time. Those who sang karaoke seemed to be regulars and boy were they talented! Drinks were well priced and there were tons of games to play on old school consoles including Sega genesis. How fun! Tonight was my first time at this bar and I'm never ever going back. I was denied a glass of water because I hadn't purchased anything. The bartender was a complete snot. So I wrote them a 1 star review on Facebook. I wasn't able to leave because my friends had drove. While sitting and minding my business the owner comes over to me and gets in my face and kicks me out. After words were exchanged and the situation got heated the owner then insulted me, made fun of me, and my financial status. He proceeded to tell me that I have money to dye my hair but can't afford a water. I haven't dyed my hair in months and even if I did who the hell is he to judge what my wallet looks like. The owner is aggressive and nasty. Staff extremely rude. Karaoke sucks. I've been a waitress for 10 years. Ive had so many people sit at my table and order nothing. And never once charged them for water or asked them to leave. The owner is a greedy money hungry POS. So if you'd love to be denied a water and verbally abused and insulted then the Lizard Lounge Of Bohemia is the spot for you ! read more

thought it was a cool place.. karate was cool everything was cool.. until me and my girlfriend went to pay our 101$ tab.. i simply asked the bartender who i think was in charge because he was training two other guys why our tab was so expensive .. he said our tab was actually 86$ because he gave us a drink on the house .. i asked him how much each drink was because we only had 6 (3 each) and he got extremely frustrated and started yelling at me telling me he heard me tell him im a bartender 10 times and hes sick of and this is the price so deal with it ... yes im a bartender and yes i did ask if his dirty martinis come from brime juice or real olives and yes i asked him if he can make me a peanut butter and jelly shot but i still dont think i deserved the attitude he gave me ... so i simply told him okay im just asking prices because it seemed like a lot to me i put a 20$ tip on the bar and he told me that i need it more then him and gave it back to me!! so i took my 20$ and left.. ill never be back.. terrible bartenders for ur all male bartenders with customers who tip 20% read more

I've already posted a review but due to owner's reply I felt the need to post a follow-up. I'm not promoting "my" business. I'm a patron who has gone to many karaoke bars in the last 30 years and whatever you think you have there that's good, is fine. However, what I wrote in my previous review is 100% accurate. Drinks over-priced, fruit for drinks was old and not fresh, bartenders were not friendly, karaoke DJ did NOT have four or five songs requested. NOTHING ran smoothly, the guy still uses paper and pencils to write song requests on. State of the art equipment?? How bout using a computer and keeping track of singer's songs so the next time they come in, the song is in their file?? That's state of the art! Get with the times! Bragging about being on Oprah and best Karaoke on Long Island...seriously! The bar was so full of out of control drunk kids that they ruined the whole night for us AND the DJ kept putting them up skipping over other singers. The kids were so rude that they were going on stage with people as they were singing (unwelcomed), jumping on each other's backs for piggy back rides, and yelling while the singer's were singing. Not one owner or bartender did anything to control them. Just kept serving them more alcohol. Obviously you weren't there and it took you weeks to reply to my review so don't pretend to know what was going on when you weren't there. The sound and set-up of the karaoke was awful that night and if the DJ was doing his job, he would be moving the singers along quickly instead of chit-chatting. He'd also have songs ready to be played as soon as you get up there rather than have you standing on stage waiting till he figures out what song you asked for. It should be a steady flow. I've been to other places and I've seen karaoke run much better with a DJ who sings good, interacts with the crowd and gets the crowd excited. Sorry but your place sucks and karaoke is not the best on Long Island! read more

I had my birthday party here last Saturday night and we had an amazing time! I called ahead of time to see if I needed to make a reservation and they just told me as long as I got there before 9 PM I could have the platform tables. Sure enough they were reserved for me when I got there which was so nice! The karaoke is super professional, sounds great, and the staff are very friendly. Bar staff were also very accommodating and drink prices were reasonable with drink specials announced each hour for $5-6, not too bad! The only downside was that a rush of people came in around 11 and we had to wait for all the new people to sing before we could sing again, which took about 2 hours. Some of my friends couldn't wait that long so ended up leaving. I completely understand how they run the show though and that Sat is the busiest night. If you want to be able to sing more than 2 songs in a night, I would recommend going on a weekday night or Friday. read more

Went with a friend and had a nice time. Drinks were good. Kaoroke was fun. Very deceiving from outside. Looks like a normal bar, but inside is very cool. Video games at bar, music videos on flat screen tvs, good music played, kaoroke stage very cool with lights, fog, great sound system. Bartenders very nice and helpful. Owner made sure my drink was to my liking and tweaked it a couple of times until I was satisfied. Will come back again. Go check it out. read more

My girlfriend and I came in for the Karaoke on January 1,2017. The crowd and the experience we both had was amazing. The bar tender Jay and the DJ was very nice and Jay was a really great bar tender.
