Cozy find! I felt like there wasn't a ton of seating and I wish they stayed open later but this spot has a lovely vibe and very friendly bartender.

I finally stopped by Liz's Book Bar to relax a bit and read after my pilates class. It wasn't too crowded with most people seated at the bar. I was able to grab a seat on a small, comfortable couch in the back and read my book in peace after ordering a lemonade. There's a pretty decent selection of books to browse and purchase. This is a great place to unwind peacefully and enjoy a glass of wine or coffee as you do it.

My friend lives near by and has talked about this place for a while so we met up here on a weekend. The bookstore and cafe are not so large but there are a few seats and bar seats. There is a decent book selection as well. We ordered two drinks and a cheese plate plus chips. After we ordered, the person who took our order disappeared. After 10-15 minutes, our drinks had not been called so I asked a different cashier about it. They had no idea what our order was but said they would make it. I had to reiterate the whole drink order to them. I am confused why there wasn't a print out of our order left on the counter for the baristas. I tried to ask about the cheese plate but this other cashier was dismissive. 5 min later our original cashier came out with the cheese plate. I think they had been preparing it in the back. When I ordered, no one explained how the drinks or food would be served, so it was confusing. No one also gave us a heads up that they were making the cheese plate in the back and it would take a few. After the cashier dropped off the cheese plate, they then came back to drop off the chips we ordered without a word. Overall, the customer service here was dismissive and unfriendly. I felt like I was bothering the staff here just by simply trying to get my order. The cheese plate was very good, as were the drinks and overall, this place was nice so I will give 4 stars. However, communication with customers needs to be improved as well as staff attitude.

Visiting my friend in Brooklyn and she mentioned she walked by this cute book bar and we had to try it. Relaxing music and vibe, areas to sit and read. Either bringing your own book or one on the wall, this place had it all. I got the wine flight to try and just overall had a wonderful time! (They have small bites to eat cheese board, olives, etc.) I know my friend will be a regular here.

Really great bookstore with a pretty good selection but also pastries, tea, and coffee! We came early but there's also a wine menu for later. There's a lot of seating but almost every seat was taken, so just know it gets busy on the weekends! Love supporting Black owned businesses.

I love this new trend of bookstore bars and this spot will now be added to my list of favorite ones. There is ample seating, good wine, and a great book selection. What more could a book lover ask for? I didn't get a chance to try any food because they were out of most things on the menu but I look forward to visiting again and grabbing a snack. Next time I'll be sure to be there early.

Books. And a bar. I can't ask for much else. A friend and I snagged some seats in this adorable coffee shop/bar/bookstore and relaxed, read, and browsed.

I don't remember how I learned about this book bar but I faintly remember the owner getting interviewed or mentioned on Instagram and I decided to visit in the future. After a busy day, I was finally able to go. On first inspection, I can see the place is well loved by locals and new people alike because while it wasn't packed it was lively on a Thursday evening. There is different types of seating including along the bar, near the front window, a nook with cushion and a few in the back. I did bar side and it has hooks underneath to hang bags. It serves as a cafe mostly so there is a limited food menu with a more extensive drink list for the morning, noon, and night. The menu is on the wall but they also have paper copies. I had a non alcoholic spritz which was decent. They do have wifi available so you can theoretically work there however, from my perusal they have limited outlets and they have a rule about no laptops after 6 pm (they have a sign near the register but you could miss it) I do believe the service is sweet and very accommodating. They checked to see if I was alright which I appreciated. The book variety is typical of many of the small independent bookstores I see in town. They do have events which I signed up for. Overall I think it is a great place to have in the neighborhood and I got much use out of it and I will be back

I was visiting Brooklyn and knew I wanted to come in for the Incardi mini print vending machine,…read morebut once I was there, I was just loving the vibes of the store. Everyone was so kind and there was a lot of things to browse! I am not even a physical book girlie but I really enjoyed the selection they had and if I lived in the area, I would be coming back often to continue to support. It was a short walk from the Brooklyn Bridge and allowed me to explore more of the area, which was a huge plus for me!

I visited this Brooklyn Heights location of Books Are Magic this past weekend with some friends…read more I'd been to the shop's first location (Carroll Gardens) before - it opened in 2017, but I hadn't realized that this location opened in 2022! But we were wandering around and just came upon it. The store is a good size; you can definitely lose time exploring and browsing. It doesn't feel as tight as many independent bookstores can either. Founded by author Emma Straub, both Books Are Magic locations have some really wonderful touches: lots of recommendations by booksellers on the shelves, a large section of translated fiction, and merch for bibliophiles. I had to be dragged out - but not before I picked up a book that I hadn't seen on/in any tables, endcaps, pyramids in any other bookstore in the last few months. If you love to read, Books Are Magic is well worth a stop to browse and get inspired by a new read!
