So my dad went to Livingston Firestone with some concerns about the battery in his car. He had been…read moreadvised by another company "advance motor parts" to visit firestone to get some bolt on his car battery tightened since it wasn't and could be causing his car battery to lose connection. They installed a new battery for him and asked him to visit firestone to complete the process since they didnot service that. My dad visited Livingston Firestone and tried to explain to the front desk what was done by advance motor larts and what he had been told needed to be done further. They refused to let him explain and said that their mechanic will examine the car and determine next steps. They also stated that once he figures out what needs to be done the mechanic will let the front desk know and they will give my dad details and an estimate for the work. After waiting for 1.5 hrs, the front desk called my dad over and said here is your invoice and we completed the work and you have a $92 payment that needs to be made. No one gave him an estimate, no one told him what work was going to be done. Nothing. My dad argued and said I need to see what you are billing me for. They said lets talk to the mechanic. The invoice read that a battery cable was replaced and a bolt was replaced and tightened, upon asking the mechanic he said that he didnot replace any cable and that he simply tightened the bolt. My dad was furious at this point so the store manager said that he will give him a 'store discount', and he brought the invoice down to $21, and stated 3.99 was for the bolt and rest was labor charge. My dad was frustrated and had already spent over 2 hrs so he paid the money and left. He came home and told me the whole ordeal. So I called Livingston Firestone and asked them to send me a clean invoice that shows exactly what he had been billed for. They sent me an invoice which said "a battery cable had not been replaced" so client was charged $0. Which made no sense. So I called again and said can you generate a reciept which reflects the work and the charges correctly. They said we can only generate such bills when you make another payment. So essentially come make another payment of $21 and we will generate a clean invoice for you. I was really mad by now and asked if they could send me a written note on livingston firestone papers with the exact work done if not an invoice/reciept. They finally sent me another document which said nothing new except that the client was charged $21. I would not go to this location again. The service was terrible

Nick left the car on the lift specifically so I could take a look under the car and he gladly popped the hood. He was very courteous and understanding. He disclosed anything and everything - I didn't have to question his honesty at all. He is very upfront. He allowed for me to take a test drive around the area and during the test drive he explained all of the details of the car - he also disclosed all of the improvements he had done to the car in the last month to get it ready to be sold. He provided a list as well and documentation as proof. I accepted the offer and Nick was patient enough to wait for me to go and grab a check from the bank. When I came back we had a brief talk about how to transfer the car, get a new registration and plates. This was the smoothest experience I have ever had when it comes to buying a car.
