Dr. Alfreda listens my concerns and I always feel safe under his care. he is a great doctor and very knowledgeable. Once I was hospitalized for severe abdominal pain and without testing, I was diagnosed with peptic ulcer. Dr. Alfreda ordered H-pylori testing ( which was negative) and sent me to GI SPECIALIST. I had upper GI endoscopy and a tissue biopsy revealed celiac sprue . I am very hard-headed person who will never go to the hospital unless Iam unconscious. Numerous times I had very bad respiratory infection which interfered my breathing and I still refused to go ER AND AGAIN DR ALFREDA was my savior . We saw very good reviews on Google Maps and were optimistic about seeing Dr. LaBuz, but he might…read morehave too many patients in his DPC practice or he might have something distracting his attention, because it was truly difficult to get him to give more than a few minutes of attention to us, even during scheduled appointments. I think he was significantly late to every appointment we ever had with him (like more than 20 minutes late to a 15-min appointment) and in many cases we had to contact the front desk to get him to respond, and they said he had forgotten or not marked the appointment on his calendar. He said that DPC is supposed to be good for complex medical situations, but in practice, he would only listen to us briefly before concluding what test we should get and then talking about that test a lot. He was not good at listening to us and it felt so difficult to get even a few sentences out around him. One time I even booked two appointments (one for me one for my husband) to TRY to have enough time for him to listen to something complicated that I felt was threatening my heart health, and still got shut down and not listened to and just told to rebook in a few weeks for more so-called "care." He was also not the best about refills, referrals, etc. often had to follow up a lot. I felt the doctor was failing to get an understanding of our health histories and was instead just listening barely long enough to suggest a test and then that's all he wanted to talk about. for example: my husband: I've been having fatigue dr.: (no questions about when it started or what it was like) you should get a sleep study! my husband: well, i'm not sure (not thinking sleep apnea was likely explanation, given the other details about the fatigue history) dr.: you can do a sleep study at home these days! Additionally, the nurse/phlebotomist seemed very inexperienced and severely injured me while doing the blood draw. She also mishandled the blood sample, so one of the tests we paid for was voided and had no result, because it had been exposed to too much light. I had constant low-grade pain in my arm for months after her blood draw, because she must have damaged my muscle or nerve with the needle and wouldn't take it out when I said it was more painful than any blood draw I'd ever had (she just said "you're overthinking it, just breathe."). I wish I had ripped the needle out, because I've had dozens of blood draws and I know what they normally feel like, even when they're a little painful, and this was not normal. I was hoping for better but this DPC did not turn out to be what we needed. We found someone better through recommendations on r/vegaslocals.

We truly cannot care for anyone else until we attend to our basic needs, like our health. Recently, I had some experiences that made me rethink and realize the fragility of one's health. I found this little clinic from word of mouth, Gabriel mentioned it to me. They have great hours, take my insurance, and have the best team. A caring team! My principal complaint when I made the initial appointment was for pain management relief from low iron levels. My hemoglobin levels were way below average, actual at 6. Yes 6! This is the reason for the pain in all four of my limbs. The low iron was causing irregular sleep patterns or no sleep, breathing issues, and a few other symptoms. But one needs "sleep," to survive. The doctor did blood tests, and offered the use of steroids to deal with the pain from low iron issues, so at least I could sleep. I was offered the chance to have a steroid shot and another pain medicine via my vein. These shots were reasonable at $50 each with payment taken at the time of service. It's been a little over a month that I've been able to make this office work for me. The staff is again very kind. While I've had to back off the shots while awaiting my first iron infusion the little bit of relief for the physical pain that comes with "low iron," was at least partially relieved due to the staff here and their recommendations for my health. We have but fleeting moments in life, during this phase and small moments of my life it was truly life changing. Just having someone that cared while awaiting the medical treatments was a god send to me . Pain is a mind numbing experience and really shakes an individual to their core . The staff and all their ability to care truly shows in their service to helping others that are in pain and need no matter what their condition or circumstances. If you live in this area and need immediate assistance for medical treatment and are awaiting something give a call . Well, three days prior to my surgery, I found out the doctor changed the surgery time by 6 hours! So now, I didn't have a ride back which was required. I called her and even though it was last minute, she was so sweet and accommodating. She asked me the procedure I was having and she gave me a bunch of tips on how to prepare and what to make sure I had on hand. She gave me more Dos and Do Nots than my doctors office did! Then, the day before surgery, the doctors office notified me that I had to take 4 Xanax before I arrived there 1.5 hours later. I'm super sensitive to medicine and I knew I would be a mess. I was scared to ride with a stranger in an uber like that so I texted Stephanie like 16 hours in advance asking her if she could take me too. She had training until 10am and I needed to be picked up by 10:30am at the latest and she said she would make it work! She was here at 10:25am- I do not remember this entire interaction. I was seriously drugged up. If it was an Uber- who knows what could have happened?! She dropped me off, made sure I was okay, left and was waiting for me when I got out. She brought me home, made sure I was settled in. Went over all the meds and what to take and when to take them. She gave me a time chart form so I don't lose track of what I've taken because I'm on medication. She has followed up with me to check on me--I just cannot say enough good things! Her character shows through. She's exactly who should be a nurse caring for people. Shes so thoughtful and makes you feel so cared for. Do not think twice!
