My husband and I had some extremely disturbing experiences with this provider. I saw some red flags in the negative reviews but brushed them off. I'm regretting that now, because 1) the Jekyll/Hyde switch this provider seems to make when questioned even in the most minor ways and 2) she lacked knowledge of basic medical things (medical ethics, conditions for tests to be accurate, that over-testing can be harmful, what is a screening test or not) and had inflated her education and experience (claiming Univ. North Florida was 'highly competitive" when it accepts more than 70% of applicants and is nowhere in top 100 BSN programs). It caused us to lose trust that we want her anywhere near our health. She told both of us at different times for raising concerns about non-standard, even recommended-against tests she was running on us that if we had concerns, we should find another doctor -- her way or the highway. In both cases, we were asking her to follow established medical guidelines and ethics -- not asking to skip anything truly required. I have a mother with narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) and have had to learn about the condition. The things I experienced as a patient of this clinic reminded me a lot of those experiences with my mother. I didn't like that this nurse had tested me for pregnancy without my knowledge or consent (considered medically unethical) and was concerned to hear she did this to all her female patients, and she viciously turned on me, incorrectly telling me it was standard and a required screening test and then saying if I didn't like it I should find another provider. Months later, her staff sent my husband the wrong tests to have done in order to get a refill. He had no way of knowing this was a mistake and thought the nurse was asking him to do unreasonable tests to maintain the prescription. He contacted her with his concerns and offered to discuss them at a future appointment. It came out that there had been a mistake, the correct tests were supplied, which my husband said he had no problem with and got done. Then the nurse told him she would no longer fill his prescription in the future, gave him a prescription that the pharmacy can't fill, and has been unreachable by us or the pharmacy to fix it for days, so now he has no medication. There's honestly a lot more -- grandiosity, talking frequently about how she is better than other doctors and medical providers, claiming in her yelp bio that her medical experience is "vast" (being a nurse in different settings for 10y is not vast experience). In my experience, she tests patients for too many things and without regard for the proper testing conditions, possibly hoping that something will come up positive (even if it could be a false positive) and give her the rush of feeling she caught something that others would have missed. Once you run 6-7 tests, the chance of a false positive is around 20% (read up on the harms of over-testing), so she might be racking up tons of false positives for patients, possibly leading to unnecessary further testing, specialist visits, or worse. She tested us for a lot of off-the-wall stuff she never explained to us but that we had to pay for. She didn't show good judgment in correlating tests with patient symptoms and had my husband husband do tons tests after a false-positive test came back that she might have suspected was a false positive if she'd asked him about symptoms (it was from a supplement he was taking). I don't feel my husband and I were helped by her care. She had many very strange ideas about medical care and ethics and made many questionable remarks and decisions. She said in an email to me patients should just trust what she does is in their best interest or else find a new provider, which seems risky for patient safety. Before moving to Vegas, I never had problems with my primary care doctors and had long, normal, healthy relationships with them and have an excellent multi-year relationship with my specialist. Nobody wants to write bad reviews for doctors esp. when they know who you are, but I feel I had to. It's not just a matter of feelings -- health can also be impacted by a provider who is more concerned with their ego than your care. Katie Bass is very nice and a good practitioner but ever since her staff has changed the past year I've had nothing but unpleasant experiences. (See photos). They never answer the phone (I have no idea why, anytime I've gone in the office there's literally nobody there.) Her medical assistant or receptionist / scheduler has a serious attitude problem and seems to enjoy blaming her patients for miscommunication mistakes between her and Katie. I had a rescheduled Apt. on a Monday afternoon and a week before I came down with sinusitis. I sing for a living and can't afford to be sick. (A year ago all I had to do was send an email to Katie or a Txt & she would respond immediately and or send in a ZPak or something strong without having to see me or simply set up a quick telecall.) I came down with sickness Tuesday evening, Wed I called, left a message, sent an email and a txt asking if I could either schedule a telehealth or if Katie could prescribe me something stronger than over the counter meds. I didn't hear back so I followed up and their response was she was in consultations all day and would get back to me. Friday I tried again to get an appointment only to find out Katie no longer takes appointments on Fridays, if I couldn't wait until my scheduled apt. Monday, go to Urgent Care. With no other option, that's what I did. Monday morning came and I was still sick, out of work and didn't feel well enough to keep my appointment so I cancelled it and asked to reschedule. Their response was they would be charging me a less than 24hr $35 cancelation fee!! I was so pissed. This is a business who SENT me away and NOW they want their $35 less than 24hr cancelation fee!!? I DON'T THINK SO. I received a bill the other day for $70. They're charging me the previous rescheduled appointment too. What a joke!! They can stick their $70 up their a** I don't care if signed their stupid scheduling policy contractual agreement or not. This is just BAD business. I don't need to go to a doctors office and have their medical assistant give me an attitude because "they haven't seen me in forever" and then when I TRY to get seen they turn me away, and then their immediate response is that I will be charged $35 less 24hr cancelation fee!! I'm NOT paying it. What they can do is send me my $1,750 that I LOST for being out of work 5 days in a row because they were too busy. I'll be sending THEM a BILL!! I used to recommend this office to everyone a year ago but now forget it, her staff has major issues. Maybe I should send a bill to THEIR office for the Urgent Care Visit and the online telehealth visits I've had to pay out of pocket to get medication filled while I wait for my new primary care physician Apt. this month. I'm also glad I'm NOT the only one who has had similar experiences with her rude condescending b**chy staff. read more

I'm so disappointed, I wanted to love this place. Katie Bass is pretty awesome and her training NP that was working with her the day I saw her was amazing as well! I was early to my appointment but I did have to wait for quite some time after my appointment time before I was called back. There was no one else in the lobby and office was quiet but maybe there was more going on that I couldn't see. Her medical assistant is a complete NO for me. She was nice enough on the day of my appointment but she has an edge to her for sure. She struggled to obtain my blood but I tried not to judge as everyone has their days. I was bruised to high heaven for a week and a half afterwards from the fishing around in my vein/arm. I felt confident with Katie's exam, assessment and recommendations. I definitely felt she addressed all my concerns adequately. First impression was a solid 8 out of 10 and I had planned to make her my new primary care provider. My issues arose yesterday when I called to ask if Katie could prescribe a medication I had been on for 15 plus years for my migraines but stopped a few years ago to see how I would do off of it. During my appointment Katie and I discussed this in grave detail and at the time I decided to hold off on going back on it but she told me to just call the office if I wanted to restart. When I did so yesterday I was told I needed to do a tele-health appointment which I found odd since that was not what Katie told me I would need to do and I just saw her for a full physical and discussed this exact request in January. Seemed unnecessary to me but I agreed and scheduled for today. I got a call from the medical assistant late yesterday afternoon telling me there was an issue with my insurance. I explained to her I didn't know why there would be an issue but that I would have to call them. I asked for clarification as to if I even needed the tele-health appointment since I was just in and Katie told me to just call if I wanted to restart and she could get me a prescription. She copped a nasty attitude and told me "you have to be seen again if you want to get a controlled substance." I advised her I was asking for propranolol which is in fact a beta blocker not a controlled substance. Instead of acknowledging her mistake and asking Katie for clarification as she was clearly confused she rudely snapped back "well there is obviously a reason she said she needs to see you again. I will go ahead and cancel the appointment" and hung up the phone. How inappropriate and unprofessional can you be? Why would you become so defensive just because I corrected you on it not being a controlled substance? Katie, I think you are a fantastic APRN and I would like to continue to see you but due to the issues with your staff I won't be back! She was incredibly unprofessional and rude and basically told me to screw off. No offer for other options like talking to Katie for clarification, rescheduling or heck maybe I was even willing to pay out of pocket. Guess we'll never know now. I've been going to Katie for a while now. It took me forever to find a provider who actually listens and is willing to go through all avenue of care to decipher a diagnosis. I'm so thankful for her! She doesn't beat around the bush and is straight forward. I've never had any issues at her office and recommended my partner to see her as well. I did learn about their new scheduling policy with the $75 co-pay deposit, which just started this yr for me. I have no issues with it since at least I don't have to think about my co-pay for each visit. Katie is very patient and listens, and is very outgoing. It's nice to finally talk to a provider who doesn't make you feel like you're being judged. Especially since I'm also a nurse, she's understanding why I'd finally come see her since medical professionals tend to be the worst patients LOL. I'd like to start by saying I loved this office and doctor. I'm taking accountability to say I admit when I was being explained a new medication I would be put on I wasn't paying enough attention when I was told I shouldn't be taking it in addition to the medication I was already on. With that being said, because I was taking both, with the name brand medication (not realizing I wasn't supposed to) I was confused as to why I couldn't get it refilled. I mentioned to the ladies in the office that I was confused why it couldn't get it filled if I was taking it already and was told I couldn't but again I didn't realize it was because I wasn't supposed to be taking them both together anyway. So I had an appointment with Katie. She sounded annoyed from the jump and was abrasive but I didn't really understand why until I asked if after the first medication was done if she'd fill the other one again, she told me in an angry voice that she'd "think about it" at which point it clicked and I asked her if she was ok and if I'd done something wrong? She proceeds to tell me that I lied and said I hadn't been on the prior medication even tho it was picked up the month before.. I told her I did pick it up and take the 30 day supply and I had been off it for a few weeks because I couldn't fill it and that's why I wanted to talk to her.. she than tells me I said I haven't been on it for months and that I was lying and that it's all on file.. I reiterated to her that I never said I haven't been on it for months and I was not lying it has only been a few weeks due to not being able to fill it.. she than tells me because I mentioned that I felt like the new medication I got for close to $600 btw made me feel a little scammed, I had mentioned this to one of the ladies on the phone, that she was very obviously mad about that.. so after her talking to me like garbage, calling me a liar and going back and fourth with me it really left a bad taste in my mouth. It's embarrassing and quite frankly not true at all to who I am and my character. I do not lie. I admitted I didn't know that I wasn't supposed to be taking both and that I never said it's been months but I was being talked to like I was a criminal. I hate that it even had to come to this. I never said she scammed me or that they did, I just felt like it was a tiny bottle for a high price and didn't feel it was doing anything for me. Instead of addressing that with me she got on our call already angry looking to be abrasive. That's not the type of health care provider I am seeking. I don't think she is a bad person, she's actually a very very nice woman. I just don't appreciate the way I was spoken to and the manner in which it all panned out. AND to make matters worse, before I even decided to post this (because I had already had it written out) I even messaged her on her health hub and asked her if once I discontinued the expensive medication if I could get back on what I've been asking to be on she just flat out ignored my message. At least tell me no? At least tell me to go kick rocks? But nothing? This is the most unprofessional I've ever been treated in my life. Don't come here. read more
