Pros: Its…read moreimmaculately clean, the standard workout area free for residence of Tara heights and supposedly open 24hrs, has enough barbells and dumbbells up to 100lbs for all strength levels. Cons: It is 62 degrees in this gym, better bring a jacket. They have some rearly great additional rooms such as a CrossFit style room, cybex room, trx room, but they cost $59/ month to get access. If you are a Tara heights resident, they will not let you pay the difference from the included standard membership to upgrade and will charge you the full rate. The premium membership does not seem to include classes either, not sure of additional costs for those. The Regular gym room used to have enough free space to do pushups/core/small HIIT workout without being in the way of others however they have since filled that space with rowers and bikes to supplement cardio equipment for their CrossFit studio, a studio which the standard members are not allowed access too. This significantly cuts down on the available space as it's already a small gym. Its ok for a quick close to your apartment workout, but I don't think I would spend the money for a membership if it wasn't free. This gym could be a hidden gem, but it isn't there yet.

My company had a corporate membership with Gateway Hills Health Club before we moved from Nashua to…read moreSalem, N.H. in January 2015. In earlier this year I spoke with Matt Dispensa SR. about returning to the club. He said I could pay a monthly fee of $29.99 since I was a former member & I wouldn't be taking any classes. In early June I went there and joined. I gave a young man (Matt jr?) there my info & a credit card to put on file. He gave me a keycard, he showed me that it worked and all was good. I went to the web site to get info for health insurance reimbursement purposes & discovered that my account wasn't up to date. I emailed Matt and found out that they were not taking out the monthly fee and they needed a credit card to settle the account. I offered to come down on a Friday to get this resolved but didn't hear back. A few days later I received another email repeating the need for a credit card to settle the account & that the amount due was $359.88. I had been at the club for 5 months so I was a little shocked at the amount and questioned the additional $209.93 ($359.88-$149.95). I was told that my company owed them money. I told them that I was an employee and not responsible for the money. We continued to exchange emails to try & resolve the issue (the additional money was not brought up again). I offered to come to the club to give the info desired & was told that I could give the credit card number over the phone. I gave my cell #. A few days later I received an email stating he had called me twice & the calls weren't answered. I apologized for not answering, explained my actions & offered a solution. I twice called 603-809-6756, got the voice message service, left messages & didn't receive a return call. Another email or two were exchanged then on 10/1/17 I went to the club & discovered that my keycard was deactivated. On 10/2/17 I called 603-821-0084 to settle the issue. I spoke with Matt (Sr, Jr?), provided credit card #, asked if my keycard was active & was told that it was. The following morning I went to the club & found, to my displeasure, that my keycard didn't work. I went home, sent an email stating I wanted the keycard activated or I would demand October's fee returned & find another club. On 10/3 I was told to find another gym & that my fee would be returned. My fee was returned on 10/6. So to summarize if you want a health club which is incompetent & disingenuous Gateway Hills is the place to go. I am also canceling the credit card given to them because I don't feel comfortable knowing they have that information. Also don't say anything negative about them or they will threaten legal action.

Very unusual encounter here…read more.. I am temporarily in the area and had been looking for a gym membership. A friend had suggested FitLab as it is smaller and typically not as busy as some of the larger gyms in the area. I was going to swing by and get a workout in / sign up, but decided to check their office hours online first. Online they were offering a 30 day free membership, so I figured I would sign up. Knowing I would likely have to pay something if I was only planning on getting a month membership. I quickly received a text from FitLab Hudson asking to schedule a time to come in. Since I was literally right down the street, I popped in. The woman who had texted me, Tara, was working the desk. I told her who I was and she replied with "oh but you didn't text me back.." in a rather off put tone, which took me back. Nonetheless, I don't know her and this could just be her demeanor, which is totally fine. I was there to workout so it's all good. I explained what I was looking for, a one month membership. She said the best she could do was a two month membership for $49/month. I told her that really wouldn't make any sense since I'd be paying for an extra month... She stared blankly back at me until I said "okay, I guess this isn't the gym for me. Thanks." lol... Having been to many small gyms in the past, I know that they are frequently more than willing to accommodate and meet your needs in exchange for your business. They also will often encourage you to get a workout in and see if you like the gym itself. Well not FitLab Hudson. I did have good luck at BestFit, which is only a few minutes away. They were very welcoming and accommodating people who appreciate your business.
