It was decent but nothing really special. So why four stars. Because their Deli Sandwiches made with Boars Head Cold Cuts are fantastic. My wife brought home two Roast Beef Hoagies that were packed with delicious Boars Head Roast Beef. The bread was crisp on the outside and soft inside. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and tasty. The only thing I would recommend is that you ask for salt and pepper in any Boars Head Cold Cuts because Boars Head doesn't add salt to their meats, which is actually a good thing. This is a great place to get a sandwich.

I regularly get their roast beef hoagie with extra meat and mayo, and it's always been excellent.read more

My favorite of the 2 was the Red Hook - pink roast beef with melted mozz, eggplant cutlets, lettuce and aioli on garlic bread. I just wouldn't get the lettuce next time as it does get soggy on the warm sandwich. The combination just worked and the sauce put it over the top. We also tried some of the to go meals from the fridge - the penne vodka was really good. I popped the lasagna in the freezer for another day. The staff was friendly and no nonsense - definitely had NY vibes.

I visit this Weis infrequently; only when visiting relatives in the Carbondale area -- but have…read morebeen visiting for many, many years. My most recent stop was only to pick up some sliced almonds ($3.29) for a recipe -- an item that the two nearby Dollar Stores didn't carry. While there, I also passed a nice display of dried chili peppers, and bought some arbol chilis on whim ($2.29 for 3 oz). Relative to the grocery stores closer to my home, Weis has a far more extensive selection of items. For example, the fruits and vegetables, and salad bar, seem gigantic in comparison. And, as mentioned, I was able to pick up a specialty item, the arbol chilis that aren't available closer to home. Prices are seemingly a bit higher than home, and higher than some groceries stores headed towards Scranton but you'll save some on gas! One odd thing. I found on my receipt that I had earned a few Weis Rewards Points that could be used for gas at Weis' Gas-and-Go, Sunoco, or Mirabiro Fuel locations. However, the points were expiring the very next day (on Nov 25). I am happy to have this store in Carbondale. Staff were friendly. Check-out was easy. Parking was plentiful.
