As the owner of a business, stay far away from this incapable and unprofessional "business". Me and my wife hired Little Wedding Works, as we were referred to them by Chadwick's Steak House (a very reputable restaurant). We were having a wedding dinner with our families and placed a very simplistic order, 5 center pieces w/ balloon clouds. We provided Little Wedding Works with a realistic time frame and placed our order two weeks prior to our event and paid in full, in cash the day we placed our order. The day arrives and our order is no where insight. Both sisters, Barbara and Gina are totally unreachable and we do NOT have our centerpieces. Since their shop is not to far from Chadwick's, I decided to leave my wedding dinner and walk all the way over to their place of business, to find the shop is closed! Still, I am unable to get in contact with the owners of this horrible shop. Our dinner was less than perfect thanks to these incompetent sisters. There was no apology issued, not even a sorry, their response was as follows: "Come on Tuesday and we will issue you a refund... miscarriage... with baby...we open @ 9am on Tuesday... Thanks for understanding." One, my wife was pregnant at the time, not once did any sister say they were having a child as well, so I know that is a COMPLETE lie. Two, you just said you had a miscarriage to a woman who is pregnant and she even knows it's a complete LIE! Third, where the hell is your decency to offer an apology?! Still until this day, we have not received any apology! Me and my wife were beyond pissed. I have NEVER, especially in Bay Ridge, dealt with such a scab of a business like this one here. So, I do hope my words would discourage any person seeking wedding or birthday arrangements to please look elsewhere! I went to the store the last weekend in October to discuss an order for a candle centerpiece for my cousin Manny's Sweet 16... this was my birthday gift to him. I confirmed everything with my aunt and placed the final order on 11/3/18 for PICKUP on 11/16/18 BEFORE 5pm. I was told in January when I emailed them and then again in person 2 weeks prior to this that I had "plenty of time" as long as I gave them a weeks notice because everything has to be cut out, spray painted, apply glitter and dried by section and that takes about a week On November 16 I sent my mother to pick up the order since I was told they close at 5 and I wouldn't be home from work until 6, and she was told the centerpiece was on a truck and they had nothing for us. They stated they were not sure when the truck would be back and they would make another. They called me back less than 2 hours later to tell me my new order was ready and my mother should go pick it up. My mother sent me photos and i promptly called the store but it went to voicemail. I emailed the store explaining that I was u happy and it was not what I paid $150 for and they responded with I got what I ordered and they were not opening until 2pm the next day. What is indicated in the receipt is that it is for a boys sweet 16 movie theme, red candles in holders and one candle to light. I was also shown the foam clapboard in a larger scale which would have "Manny's Sweet 16" and pictures of the other foam pieces that would be included (popcorn, movie reel, Oscar) also in a smaller scale as these were individual centerpieces and would all be on one centerpiece, party colors red black and gold. What I received instead was 3 clip art photos of the above mentioned on card stock, 14 silver candles, 3 red candles, none to light, no holders and not packed for a 600 mile drive as was verbally agreed (I asked if it would be ok for the trip and this was her solution), and the only foam with glitter was sloppily cut letters which were spray painted and touched up while the clip art was in place. The clapboard was there but had a SEVENTEEN not sixteen on it and was reused from another piece bc it had crinkle paper on it. I had to spend another $100 at michaels and 3 hours the day that I arrived to Rochester after driving all night and getting there at 530 am. I responded to their only email, firstly noting that it was for a sweet 16 and had a 17 on it and have yet to get a response. What is most aggravating is they forgot my order and threw this together in less than 2 hours and pushed my mother out of the store with no apology no partial refund or contact to rectify the situation. I know this is something trivial in light of what was most important which was celebrating my cousin turning 16 when he was not giving much hope to make it to 6 years old. However, I wanted everything to be perfect on that day and be able to spend some time with my family who I rarely get to see due to the distance. Gennaro's a pretty room; but the decorations that they did transformed the room! Every guest commented on how amazing it looked. Do not waste your time and hard earned money purchasing anything from this hole in the wall!!!!! The two sisters Barbara and Gina are the most disrespectful and unprofessional human beings on the face of the planet! I have never seen someone pay for a service and get a side of nasty attitude with it! Myself and my family have used them multiple times. Each time we used them, they have screwed up our orders! We sucked it up because we didn't know where else to go. A few years ago, I was throwing a party for my son and i went to Gina and asked if I could order several balloon arrangements, she ignored me and had one of her new girls try to help me. She said since we weren't planning on spending a lot of money we should just go to Party City and get our arrangements from there since it wouldn't be worth it for them to help us!!! That was the last time i set foot in there! I would not go back! My sister had a christening for her daughter and ordered ice cream scooper's for favors, what actually was delivered was a cake cutter that fell apart!!!!!! Horrible!! Do your research there are plenty of other Wedding professionals in Brooklyn and Staten Island now. Don't waste your money here! read more

Well let me start when I read reviews I understand different people have different tastes that seems to work more with restaurants but want it comes to private businesses please listen to the reviews which I didn't I seen more bad reviews than good ones with this business and I went against myself and still went there let me tell you it was the worst decision I ever made first of all as the other reviews say they are very mean it seems whatever you say they listen to what they want I paid over $300 for balloons which they wrote the number 60 in magic marker on top of a balloon instead of the ones I ordered that will print it out when I asked her why was this she said she made an artistic decision where that came from I have no idea it was more like a kindergarten decision they were other things that I paid for that they didn't do I really don't want to get into everything. But if I can help one person to be aware of their unprofessional business decisions maybe They don't need the money or there so full of them self's I can't understand how they stay in business I didn't listen to the reviews I just hope I can change somebody's mind and let a listen to mine. read more

I have no idea why this place has such negative reviews, I honestly cannot recommend this place enough! I did my wedding invitations with these ladies and they were SO accommodating and helpful. I showed Barbara a picture of exactly what I wanted from Pinterest, and she made it come to life PERFECTLY. Mind you they had 100s of beautiful options to choose from already. They can do anything! They were very knowledgeable on the subject and able to go through every detail with me, they touched on things I would've never even remembered. They give you a draft of it to review and sign off on, so there really is no chance of mistake. They also do printed calligraphy & only charge $1 for it, and it came out beautiful! Both Barbara & Gina are down to earth, fun and easy to work with and best of all, they do a phenomenal job. I then used them for bridal shower centerpieces and wow, they took what I wanted and truly brought it to life! The centerpieces were gorgeous and they even threw in extra rose petals to put around the centerpiece. Prices are extremely fair compared to competitors and I couldn't be happier with their work or recommend them enough!! read more

The owner is a racist and nasty! My sister and I ordered invitations for my parents anniversary at this place. We ordered the invitations approx 5 months before the party. We were assured they would arrive in 4 weeks once the sample was approved. After placing the order, on Week 5 we went to pick them up and they had not arrived. On Week 6 and week 7, they still had not arrived. The owner kept giving us excuses or would send an employee out to speak with us - yet we knew she was in the back because we had seen her running in. At the beginning we were very courteous and understanding, but then realized she (the owner) was simply not being honest and had apparently placed the order late. To our disbelief, when we returned on Week 8 to either get the invitations or a refund (we paid over $400 for the invitations) she boldly said the following: "I knew you were trouble since the first day you came here, these Spanish people..." It is unfortunate that we did not record what this ignorant, racist and irresponsible merchant said to us and reported her to an advocacy group or with the Commission on Human Rights. We contemplated cancelling the order, but since we were pressed for time we couldn't order the invitations somewhere else. Little Wedding Works does not deserve the business of any group! She is a racist and one of the rudest people I have ever dealt with! Go somewhere else where you will be treated with respect. Do not give them your money! read more

The folks at wedding works were so unprofessional. We ordered birthday invitations. We were told we would have them in 2 weeks. Whenever I called I was given excuse after excuse. After 4 weeks and no invitations, we cancelled the order. No apologies, they just said come get your deposit. They have no attention to detail and have no clue regarding customer. read more

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with the sisters who work at little wedding works! I had them wrap wine bottle favors, with name tags, and fill up comes with petals all for my wedding and they did an awesome job! They were helpful when I wasn't sure what I wanted, showing me different options that are available. Everything was ready when they said it would be and the favors looked gorgeous! I had heard good things about this place so I thought I'd try it out.....The girls that run the shop are not the friendliest. I was told that my favors would be wrapped within a week and that wasn't the case. I really needed them in time because my wedding venue was giving me a hard time about when I could drop the favors off. When I called to see if the favors were ready(already after a week), Gina spoke to me like I had ten heads and acted like it was impossible to have them completed because they are closed all weekend and on Mondays. Needless to say, I had to harass them and call them three times to have them done, messed up my timing for drop off at the venue. If your looking for hot air and unprofessional this is the place for you! There are two sisters running this place, and I used them for my wedding. Unfortunately what we had discussed and what I had paid for, and what was on the final work order was not what occurred. My wedding bouquet had dead roses on them, my cones with flower petals had fake flower petals in them and received only 25. My flower girl got a flower ball that was bigger than she was and looked like it was ordered online. My throw away bouquet which was supposed to be made up of silk flowers with according to Gina will have 'long flowing strings that when the photographer takes the picture it will look amazing', ended up being real roses that didn't even match my décor. Upon calling the shop, I get Barbara on the phone. I told her I was disappointed and wanted to know what happened, she gave me a song and dance that she didn't know what I was talking about in regards to my bouquet, and I should have paid for a second bouquet. (My bridesmaids bouquet stood the test of heat and time and had non dead flowers on them) so clearly they put dead flowers in my bouquet. For my throw away bouquet, first Barbara said they didn't have it, then she said she forgot it, then she said she brought roses at a florist near the venue and that it was free so I shouldn't be questioning what I got. Not once during this conversation did she apologize, instead I got "What do you want me to do?" My response was at least an apology and not an argument of you defending yourself for not doing what was ordered. After I said that she apologized twice and said there is nothing I can do for you and hung up the phone. These two sisters who run this place have no brains. Long story short, they put together an invitation for my wedding with little input from me (every time I wanted to talk she would interrupt me and tell me "I'm the professional, let me handle everything"). Well, after this "professional" produced my invitations, she left out the TIME of the ceremony! When confronted, they didn't acknowledge the mistake, they just invited us to take them to COURT instead of offering a mutually beneficial fix. The girl Gina actually said "don't waste your time, we always win in court". I supposed they get taken to court often for their negligence. They lost a repeat customer. I got my Engagement invitations done there and I would have been getting a lot more done which they will lose all that business. I'm so passionate about how badly they treated us, I will be telling EVERYONE i encounter in the Bay Ridge area about them. I went to Little Wedding Works yesterday to look for centerpieces for my upcoming wedding in June. I told the owner about my theme. She very rudely rattled off what she has done for this theme in the past and pointed to the centerpieces that she said we "have to have" and that it would was going to cost at least $85 just to rent the base for the center piece. I told her that I thought the base wasn't my style and I wanted something more simple and elegant. She replied that with my theme I wouldn't be able to have a less extravagant base. I then said I had some pictures from Pinterest that I wanted to show her. She said don't go with pictures from pinterest because they are probably from some celebrity event that I would never be able to afford. I never told her what my budget even was. As I was looking through my pictures she started attending to a customer who said her wedding wasn't until August 2018. When I found the picture and was ready to show her she wouldn't make eye contact. She just continued helping the other bride. I respectfully waited a few more minutes until she was done. She walked back over and continued to talk to another bride right over my head and wouldn't look down at the picture. I then just walked out. My mother was with me and told me that she had gone in to little wedding works the day before to inquire about favors for my shower and received the same horrible treatment. We walked over to Henry's Florist on 5th Ave and was treated to the best customer service and provided me exactly what I wanted. Little Wedding Works lost out on not 1 but 2 parties that day. May 2011 - Not the first time dealing with t hem we were always satisfied. Their work was just what we ordered it was great. One problem Gina should take a course in customer service. I think she is bipolar. They might have a new policy. You have to spend over $2,000.00 in order for her to be civil with you. We spent over $1,000 in decorations. This amount does not include the invitations. The invitations were $300 for 35 invitations. When I called her to confirm our order 2 days before the party she went nuts. She kept yelling you only spent a few hundred dollars come and get your money back This was 2 days before the party. She claims that we have been calling her all week. That is not true. She kept shouting I have over 20 communion parties for Saturday. I guess she bit off more than she can chew. Because of her attitude I would NOT RECOMMEND any one to go there. She behaved like a person out of control. I was nervous that she would ruin my order, When planning a party, no one should have any added stress especially when you are paying for a service. Again FIND ANOTHER PLACE, there are plenty of them. I give them a 5 star for their work and nothing for their attitude. read more

My mother and I were planning a double baby shower for my two sisters/ her two daughters. We had decided on a baby mickey shower theme since they are both having boys and they both like disney. For the previous two baby showers (one for each sister) we made most of the decor on our own, but this time we just didn't have so we decided to order most of the decor from different places. We finally settled on getting customized ballon centerpieces from little wedding works. We have lived in bay ridge for many years and had always know about little wedding works, but had never needed to buy anything from them before. Since the store was in our neighorhood and near the restaurant we had chosen for the baby shower so it was the perfect choice. When we ordered the centerpieces the woman showed us several options and we choose light blue and white ballons with a gaint baby mickey ballon in the center anchored by a light blue styrofoam base with silver shred foil on the top of the base. Our plan was to use the styrofoam base to hold customized chocolate lollipops that had a double baby mickey image on the face of the pop. When we left the store we were both pleased...the price was great (we paid cash) and the woman was very professional. She told us don't worry we will have everything done the morning of the party and we will have the centerpieces (all seven of them) delievered at 11:30 am on the morning of the party. The morning of the party my mother and I arrive at the restaurant to set-up the rest of the decor/presents and on the tables were gold and champagne colored ballons. We were floored, so she told the waiter that those were not our ballons and he said that little wedding works had dropped them off at 11:15. Now our only recourse was to call the store, but we remembered that they were closed on sunday for deliveres and had no only number we could reach them on. At this point our only options was to wait and hope they would show up before 12:30 (that's when the party started)...so we did they other things all the while praying they would show up. 12:30 came and no ballons plus no phone call from little wedding works explaining the situation or saying we are on our way to the restaurant; nothing- no call. We were furious to say the least because now we had no where to put the custom-created chocolate baby mickey lollipops. The guests have arrived and the only decor we had was mickey head confetti, a small it's a boy mickey banner. I was devasted, but luckily my father was able to run down the block to a local florist and get on blue and white baby shower ballon centerpiece. Unfortuantely, the baby mickey shower theme we had worked so hard to create wasn't present and the lolllipops we had spent so much time and money to create were now in small bread baskets given to us by the restaurant staff. The rest of the party was great and then in the middle of dinner little wedding works calls and said the car delivering our centerpieces was in a car accident and could they bring them now. We were furious, so my mother said aboslutely not...my guests are eating dinner and if you come here you will disrupt the party...i will be coming in next week and i want a full refund. Needless to say they did not seem happy but agreed to give us the refund. Upon going to the store the following week, we were treated rudily, disrespected, and given aboslutely no explanation as to what happened on the day of our party. The woman refused to admit that they dropped off the wrong ballon centerpieces and she never said how the car got into the accident or what time this all happened. Furthermore, both owners whispered caddily in the back of the store and seemed annoyed that we were even asking for an explanation. I would NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER go to this place again or reccommed this place to anyone else for any kind of party!!! They could not even admit that they delivered the wrong centerpieces and frankly it didn't even seem as if they cared that the decor for my party was ruined! We got a full refund, but received no satisfactory answer to give us closure this horrible situation. There are so many other stores like little wedding works, so please do yourself a favor and choose another store...you will be happy i promise you. read more
