In a rare moment of clarity, I found a way to get this done, give business to a worthy photographer ( ahem, and friend) at the same time. I posed the idea to Tom, to do a photo shoot of my kids as a present for my wife and his energy and enthusiasm made me immediately think I made the right choice. We discussed locations and concepts based on what I had seen of his work. Tom had some fantastic ideas and was very receptive to my own ideas. Tom feels that the comfort of the subjects is important, so we decided to do an outdoor shoot at the park in the neighborhood where they grew up. The day came and although Tom had nothing to do with the weather, I couldn't help but feel that with the most beautiful fall day I'd ever seen, Tom has an in with Mother Nature. The shoot went flawlessly. He worked great with usually difficult kids and I could tell they felt at ease. My kids are into cosplay, where they like to dress up as their favorite characters. They loved that Tom incorporated their costumes into the shoot and couldn't wait for the pictures. And what pictures they were. I've never seen my kids look so good. The shots were classy, true and fun. I am more than pleased with the results and they were a big hit with everyone who got one. Tom uses an easy method for getting you your pics. He sets up a web page where you can view all shots and order them however you wish ( mugs, cards, photos, digital, etc) . With one click, a picture will be in your hands within hours. The overall experience with Tom, was one that I can't say enough good things about. If you have the need for such services and you are in the greater Philadelphia and South Jersey area ( or even beyond- it's worth it) make sure you check Tom out. He even made me look good...and that's saying something.

The picture that says Friday, is the day that they delivered the wreath for the wake. I got this picture directly from the owner. The first thing that was said to me was....That wreath is kind of puny, don't you think? This was a catholic mass funeral so the flowers were not displayed in the church the next day. I want to be fair, Its a very nice arrangement. I was told that they started at 300 so i told her lets do 350. What would this have looked like for $300? Its extremely small which is my main complaint for the cost. The outer Diameter was 22". The reason why i have pictures of it on my door is because she was interred at a mausoleum and they were going to throw it away. For a total cost including 15 dollar delivery and 20 dollar tip...we figured we would bring it home. I never said it was not a nice wreath, my complaint is the size. Lesson learned.

I have friends and family members who used other wedding studios and it's the same over there too, they have even more people you have to tip so I don't know what the complaints are about. I had a very large wedding (close to 500 guests) and I wanted EVERYTHING perfectly done and I still saved money compared to the costs at other wedding studios. All in all, this place made my experience so smooth from planning to the actual wedding day. The makeup artist that did the bride's makeup had amazing skills and also followed the bride throughout her wedding ceremony to touch up as well as change makeup style with the different outfits she rented. The photographer from thus studio really helped us loosen up and have fun while taking pictures together. My dress was too tight on the day of the wedding and they allowed me to switch out to a looser dress last minute. I don't know what the price was but the bride told me it was a more budget friendly option and it included everything in the package. Just need to book appointments to come in every time and no walk-ins allowed. Also they didn't all speak Cantonese which made it a little harder to communicate. Only one person spoke English well enough to communicate with. It's best to speak mandarin which I and 1 other bridesmaid couldn't really.

My DOC (not Carla) bailed on me for the venue meet, and made me feel like I was panicking for no reason with a timeline that will be formulated week before wedding. (Again not Carla) Thanks to my maid of honor coming through with an amazing recommendation, I was given Carlas's number after feeling defeated and upset with my previous DOC not supporting me or showing up for me when necessary. After 2 hour conversation with myself and my mom, I immediately felt at ease with Carla. My concerns were validated as "No way should a timeline be started 1 week before event". With many tears had during our initial conversation, that night I slept the best I had in all my wedding planning with Carla coming to my rescue and the rest is history. Details Made Simple is just that, Details Made Simple. From hiring (DMS) that August evening to my wedding on October 7, 2023, I was in The best hands Possible!!! We did use a day of coordinator through Pop the Knot as well and Mike was amazing!! We only met him in person day of but his energy was great and everything went off without a hitch. He helped set up the space the way we wanted, made sure our guests were where they needed to be, helped with my entrance, and controlled the music. He also made sure he came out to introduce himself before I made my entrance so I wouldn't be meeting him in person when I walked into the space which I thought was a nice touch. From the getting ready pictures to the couple and wedding party pictures to the family portraits, Adena did a great job of corralling so many people to efficiently get the shot. I just felt like I was in really good hands the entire time, especially given that the weather forecast introduced some unpredictability to the day. Despite that, Adena always had a plan and had an amazing eye for getting some incredible shots - sometimes planned and sometimes impromptu. Her candid shots were also everything; they really captured the energy of the party and so many of them bring a smile to my face that I know I'm going to have a bear of a time picking which ones to put in a photo album - it might just be all of them. There are a ton of options to get a simple head shot taken, but after working with Sarah, I experienced the difference between someone snapping photos and a true creative professional who knows how to efficiently get the exact nuance of expressions and gestures that make a profound difference in the finished product. The turnaround time from photo session to looking at proofs and being able to use our photos was less than 48 hours, which was outstanding! Despite the fact that our need was quite small compared with event photography, we were treated as if we were a large customer. The downstairs neighborhood is probably worried about us.
