I came for a small intimate wedding the other day for a family friend. Team bride. It's been years since I step foot here and I enjoyed the evening well. Ceremony was beautifully decorated. There was a water/lemonade station set up but it was abit too cold/windy for that. It got dark real fast mid-service and wished there was lighting available. Good thing the photographer had 1 light pole for pic to shine on the couple but other than that, it was cold and dark sitting there for the ceremony. Spacious and clean hall. Cocktail hour was also in the same space as dinner. I believe the ceremony started late and ran late; so the passed hors d'oeuvres was already available for us hungry guests. Trays of hors d'oeuvres and champagne greeted us when we stepped inside from the ceremony. Dinner was good and decent portion size. I believe the staff was short staffed as they weren't available to refill water glass and check on the table as much. They did a few initial check (before/and after meal) but not visibly seen as much. Overall, I enjoyed my evening here. Oh yeah, only noticed the next day that we never got the platter of cookies/brownies for the table at the end with our slice of wedding cake. Noticed it on the menu but none was given. Left 10min before party end and nada. Maybe they packaged it all up and gave it to the couple. read more

Call a spade a spade. This place is hands down the worst muni in NYC. The only thing they have going for them is the free cart that's included, granted you don't mind sharing with a stranger. You'll probably be backed up about an hour as-well but as long as you're not paired with two 15 year olds infants, it should be decently good time. Fairways and greens being in good shape this time of year was the only shining light and the reason why this review got 3 stars. Gotta call a spade a spade. read more

Went out today... had someone almost hit my friend in the head... then proceed to hit into us two times. We told the pro shop but they let him keep playing after he hit into another group. For $70+ around would expect some enforcement of dangerous behavior... but this is straight up criminal. Haven't had this issue at La Tourette, Forest Park, Silver Lake, Van Cortlandt, Marine Park, etc. read more

We had an affair there on July 13, 2025. We were supposed to have a champagne toast, and nothing was served. They had the champagne, but nothing was put on the table! My grandson's meal was supposed to be free because he is under 3. I was never told that, and I was charged $45!. We were supposed to have gluten free brownies in pre packages. This is a terrible course. They didn't even have full sets of clubs for rent. Our men's set was missing a putter and a sand wedge, and our women's set was missing a pitching wedge and 6 iron. The golf carts were in terrible condition. The seats were torn and the windshields were broken. We got in line to tee off and found out that at least two groups are booked per tee time. We had to wait 35 minutes to tee off because of how backed up the groups were. When we started golfing, we had to wait at least 10 minutes per hole. The course is in horrible condition - most of it is dirt or dried grass. There were fallen leaves everywhere. The highlight of the course was the kind woman working at the burger stand. The burgers and hot dogs were great. read more

I have never been to a golf course that has such disregard for pace of play. I understand it's a muni, but marine park is excellent in this regard and less expensive. Once, I booked the first tee time at sunrise hoping to be the first group out (as it was the first available reservation, and the sun was not up yet). When I arrived, there were multiple groups in front of me and was told to tee off on the back nine. Making the turn, it was an hour wait to tee off on the first. Another time I walked off the course after 5 hours: on the twelfth hole. The course is... fine. Decent shape generally. But it's not worth spending your whole day there. read more

We attended a wedding of about 200 here in September 2025. It was very nice in all aspects. The service was outdoors ... lucky day on the weather...the cocktail party and later dinner were all very nice. We would recommend it as a place to consider. Getting there and staying/leaving can be tricky, especially for people not familiar with the area, but can be overcome with some planning.. read more

Dyker Beach Golf Course Review: I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to play here at this course. It was the most worthless $80 I have ever spent. Every fairway is dirt. The greens and tee boxes have the greenest grass on the entire course. It's absolutely terrible. The view of the Verrazano bridge was not as good as expected. I would never play this course ever again. I can't even bring into words how unsatisfying it was to play. The only good view was the cart girl and the hotdogs and burgers after the seventh hole. The seat in my golf cart looked and felt like Frank the Tank from Barstool sat in it for seven years straight. 100% will never even think about playing here ever in the rest of the 72 years I have left on this earth. Great day with the boys here last Friday. We were able to play with 5 players which was an appreciated. Pretty busy morning resulted in a delayed start as there weren't enough golf carts so started about 20-30mins post tee time. The grill had great food options. The chef Bobby was awesome and prepared one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I've ever had. He even hooked up and pulled pork on foot long hot dog option that was insane! When I first moved to Bay Ridge a few years ago this course was a gem of a find, an oasis in a desert. Now, this place is just a mirage... I usually only play this course a few times a year when I don't have time to drive out to New Jersey, Westchester or Long Island. It's a nice little course with tight fairways and a good backdrop of the Verrazano bridge. This was the first time I came here since the start of COVID, and the entire place is thoroughly run down. The club house looks a bit of something out of a horror movie. The bushes and hedges have not been trimmed all summer. The practice putting green looks like a wasteland and is unusable. The blue tent at the front was an eye sore at it completely collapsed and had rain water, mud and leaves scattered all over what is now a tarp. The course itself is in bad shape. Tee boxes are full of sand with hardly any grass. The sand traps look like the beaches of Normandy during WWII. There are tree branches and fallen trees everywhere on the course. Looks like Hurricane Sandy hit again. And the kicker, the older gentleman who usually handles the start was MIA. As my tee time came up i joined my foursome as a single and then out of nowhere the old man zips up in his cart and yells "Who are you!?" Incredibly rude and unprofessional. I asked if he was speaking with me and he again said "Yeah! Who are you!!?" I gave him my name and asked where he was this whole time and he exclaimed that he was driving around the course. For a business that's in the hospitality industry they should train their staff on some manners. I won't be returning to this course this summer and probably will strike it off my list forever. read more

Golf course is rough. I thought a man was sleeping in a Golf cart under a tree until he Told us to pick from 3 carts full of garbage, with seats missing foam. Picked one , cleaned it, thought it was going to break down for 18 holes. Brake pedal didn't always work had to sometimes press it 3 times to stop. Starter 2 was also not very welcoming, takes it very serious, although everything leading up to that point was poor. Course plays slow. If you're looking for a place to hit multiple balls and really just mess around, this is a good course. For the cost was expecting a different experience. Rented clubs for one person in my group, they were dented and just dogged. Not a pro golfer but would not play there again until had zero other possibilities read more

Arnold Palmer once said, "Success in golf depends less on strength of body than upon strength of mind and character." He's probably right. I possess none of the strengths mentioned, and I have had very little success in golf. That doesn't stop it from being one of the best things you can do on a nice day though. And on this last outing, I didn't break anyone's windshield...so I'd call that a win. If you are into golf at all, or if you just like drinking beer outside, I'd give it the Dyker course a shot; it's surprisingly picturesque for being smack in the middle of Brooklyn. Yes, it isn't the cheapest hobby to pick up, but they often have deals on a round, a lunch,* and a couple beers if you're willing to play at off times. FYI: It's considered 'bad etiquette' to run over someone else's ball with your cart. Even if they are winning. (I know, right?) ______________ *Decent food, but call ahead from the 7th green to avoid a wait. read more

First time playing a round at this course. 3 out of 5 stars overall Pros - beautiful back drop of the Brooklyn Bridget. The starter is good.. plenty of help, and a cart girl that made her way around to ensure hydration was on point (beverage/liquor) of choice. The course was in good shape, the greens were running 10-12 on the meter no crazy undulations primarily flat greens and big to land your ball on. The rough was okay, not your typical 4 inch PGA nonsense but was rough in it's on sense. Cons - pro shop had limited supply of gear. I wanted to buy my wife something and all he could offer was a visor. Not a good look. Overall would I play another round at this course. Maybe if I'm the area and planned with a foursome but not as a two some it'll take too long for 18. read more

Playing a short, but relatively challenging 6430 yards, Dyker Beach Golf Course once was strictly a members only private club. Anyone whose been a member of a private club can identify that Dyker was once a respected and storied club. Par fours have some interesting twists and turns, long hitters need not pull out the driver, really longer guys may even consider playing for position with a long iron. The view of landmarks really never did anything for me while out playing, not the cliffs of Torrey Pines nor the bridges of Brooklyn, I'm looking to post a low score, not see the sights. Fun par threes that are mainly all carry, nill too running up a mis-hit hosel rocket, picture the shot, commit & carry the ball. read more

I got married here august 5th, 2017 and it was absolutely amazing. The weather was perfect so we were able to use the patio, overlooking the golf course during cocktail hour. Actually I never got to really enjoy it because after our church ceremony, my bridal party and I were busy taking professional pictures but I heard good things and seen the pictures of my guests. They looked like they were having a good time. They also told me the food was amazing. The reception was beautiful and easily fit in my guests of 150 with a lot more room to spare. Lila was the first person I met when we were looking for a venue and she was exceptional with our questions and concerns. She was friendly and put me at ease, I knew right away I made a good choice with this place. The other staff were exceptional as well. Vicki (the wedding planner) awesome. My bridal attendant (I want to say her name was Lorraine?) was awesome. Nick, the maitre'd was awesome. There is nothing bad I can say about anyone. My wedding was simple and elegant, exactly how I wanted it to be. Dyker Beach Golf Course definitely gave me precious memories of my special day. Now I want to be invited here to a wedding so I could enjoy it as a guest. :) read more

My company sponsored a South Brooklyn CSA event last night at the club. My hats off to all staff members. Whatever assistance we needed, we got immediately. We needed a larger table, Done. We needed a screwdriver to put our TV monitor on its stand, not only Done, but it was done for us. These folks couldn't have been more accommodating. My thanks to all. Came here for a wedding earlier today and the place was almost perfect! Minus the lack of signs for directions but that's okay. The snow made the entire outside really pretty and the inside was also really nice. I feel like the banquet hall was quite small to the amount of people we had. This review is for their catering hall. Apparently they are under the same name. I have done several fairs at that hall, and I must say that it is very well maintained hall. At times, catering halls are dilapidated with aging bathrooms and smelly carpets. This place is very clean and well maintained with beautiful amenities. Even on a gloomy rainy day, there is a lot of sunlight in this place due to large windows. Simply beautiful grounds. read more

I just had my baby shower at Dyker for a brunch on a Saturday afternoon. The guests that did approach me told me the buffet was delicious, which I was happy to here. It was my first time hosting a party here and was extremely happy with the service. Lila was so professional and flexible with me that her service alone is something that would make me return. There was a mistake, but she immediately made it right which is something I appreciate as a client. Andre, my maitre d, was so great during the party as well working with myself and my event planner for whatever we need. The rest of the staff were very accommodating to all my guests and vendors. They just needed a different valet company to work with, but other than that I had a good experience and wouldn't mind hosting another event here again. read more

This review is for the clubhouse for a wedding event. My sister in law had her wedding here this past month. I loved the look of the room - very classy and elegant. Minimal decorating is needed on your part. You'd just need to work on the table settings for added classiness. For me, the food was standard wedding food, but nonetheless, still tasty. They start you with a salad, then a bowl of pasta, then the main course. The beef that I had for the main course was really tender. So I enjoyed that. Sadly, I didn't get to taste the cake because I was very much enjoying the chocolate fountain that they had for dessert! It was a standard fountain with bananas, strawberries, rice crispy treats, etc that you can dip into the fountain. I think, they also had a crepe station. But I didn't pay too much attention to that. The attendants at this establishment are so attentive. I was very pleased that they looked after the bride and the bridal party with care. The groomsman had a problem with their bow tie and the attendant pulled out a sewing kit and started sewing the bow tie back together! *thumbs up*! I understand a lot of the negative reviews about the conditions of the overall course. However, my bad review is about the absolute unprofessional, negative, nasty remarks made by the older "gentleman" who assigns golf carts. He also does not use a face mask and gets extremely close when speaking to you. He drives around the course smoking a cigar, puffing it close by. As a female golfer, I personally feel very unsafe around him. I always try to limit my distance and my words with him as his energy is extremely off putting. I do enjoy playing here, but the workers here make the game so uncomfortable. read more

I had my wedding here April 2013. Dyker was the first and only venue I looked at. I looked at a few others online but nothing compared. Bruno was very hepful with everything. I thought the price was really reasonable. Our food tasting was really nice. We felt very catered to. Eman was really sweet and gave us a lot of good insight. She was my bridal attendant and did an amazing job. She even sewed me a new bustle. Eveything was organized and professional. The wait staff did a great job, especially Jordan. Food was delicious and everything looked very classy and understated! My pictures came our gorgeous!! You have the brick walls, nice land scaping, golf course greens and Verrazano bridge as backdrops. Overall, I'm very happy I had my wedding here. I have not one complaint. read more

I had my wedding at Dyker Beach Golf Course on August 9, 2015 and it was great! I couldn't have done it without the help of the great people that work there. From the beginning, Eman worked with me to plan the wedding. She was very patient with me in answering all my questions and offered useful advice to make sure everything was perfect. She is a sweetheart - her professionalism really made the planning go smoothly and I don't think I could have done it without her. I love Eman :) On the day of the wedding, I was assisted by John, the Maitre'd and Karina, the bridal attendant. Both of them were very reliable and attentive. If there were any issues, I could be sure that they would resolve them promptly. Weddings are a hectic blur when you're at the center of it and these two made sure I didn't lose my head through the night! Karina even stayed late into the night and made sure we didn't lose anything and to check if we needed any help bringing stuff to the car. Dyker Beach Golf Course was a wonderful choice for venue. Many of our guests commented that the ceremony by the gazebo was beautiful and that the food was great. All my guests had a fun time - it really was a dream come true to have my wedding there! read more

A solid, classic neighborhood course. South Brooklyn is lucky to have her. I've been in NYC for a bit over a year, and I'm trying play as many of the courses in the area as possible. This course is accessible by the R train after a 10 minute walk from the 86th St stop, although the R Train can be quite unreliable. Also, the R Train is not running from Manhattan. Generally flat, with a bit of elevation change. Course was in pretty good condition, greens were fair and in pretty good shape, especially for a public course that gets a lot of play. On a Saturday morning, $48 for an NYC resident to walk, $68 to ride, similar to the other city courses. The pro shop is cramped, but reasonably well stocked. The employees were all friendly. The bar / grill-room was nice and spacious, with flat-screen TVs. The classic brick clubhouse was gorgeous. Onto the course itself: straightforward, not too challenging by any means. Well-maintained. The staff did a great job raking the bunkers, but the sand itself was quite rocky. Fundamentally, not a difficult course. The better player might get bored here. The course was only 6400 yards from the tips, with a rating of 70.5 and a slope of 118. By my recollection, there are very few risk/reward holes. This course does not have a driving range. The putting green is nice. What is awesome about this *area* is that, nearby, there is a "Junior Golf Center" run by the city (as opposed to being run by American Golf Corporation). It has a few short practice holes, and a 40-yard driving range. More courses need these!! An excellent, cheap way to introduce youth to the game. Especially if you're a child, one of the best ways to get good at golf is by repetition. Pounding balls for hours at the range all summer really will make you a better golfer. This facility allows kids to drastically and economically improve their golf game. Not every golf course needs to be a "championship golf course". Given that this is one of the few courses in a borough with 2 million people, they'll likely always have a steady flow of customers. Given the lack of "challenge" / "brilliant holes" on this course, along with the fact that it's a 90 minute commute for me by public transit, I likely won't be returning here any time soon. But, as a golf nut, if I lived nearby, I'd play here a lot. This course does a fantastic job of offering up an enjoyable golf experience. read more

The course is ok, except for the bunkers, which haven't been maintained since 2020 and are rock hard and full of stones, pipes and other miscellaneous garbage. Walked up to play 9 this morning, so why was I charged a reservation fee when I didn't make a reservation? Management is very unprofessional. Can't wait until (un-)American Golf is gone. We've been to two affairs here...One sweet 16, which was upscale and one wedding which was on a budget. Although the Sweet 16 had better food and an outdoor cocktail hour which was pretty pleasant and civilized, we had to depart before the killer dessert buffet was revealed due to the freezing cold temperature and the ear drum piercing sound system. It was nothing short of torture. My 14 year old daughter was the first to ask to go so based upon that, you can draw your own conclusions. The wedding was a bit of a disaster. We arrived early as our daughter was in the wedding party and were made to feel completely uncomfortable. Nowhere to grab a drink, nowhere to hang out and were told to wait for our daughter outside while the photos were taken. It was pouring. As the other guests arrived, we were crammed into the hallway and then ushered to holding room with a dark bar sans bartender...what a tease. This lasted an hour until we permitted to enter the cocktail hour room (which was where the pics were being taken so they had to set up.) The food was predictably bad but the service didn't have to be so rude. As for the venue...could use a major cleaning and renovation. read more
