It really doesn't look like much at first glance, however inside is where the magic happens. This Summer My son who attends a Magnet/Stem school got invited and accepted to the young makers club, normally he does 3d printing in school as an elective however I want him to build on that knowledge for college ( I know I'm waiting on my ascap application(writer) lol) so I was very excited when the DOE partnered with this group. He will be doing hands on activities like hover boards, sling shots, possibly robotics and definitely 3D printing. The goal here is to make sure he has every tool imaginable to build a future unimaginable or beyond anyones imagination whichever floats your boat Thank you Young Makers club for this opportunity

    Building #2

So there is this monstrous building on the west side of Brooklyn called the Brooklyn Army Terminal. Once the largest US military base for supplies its now a commercial/industrial complex housing dozens of company offices and artist studios. Why am I talking about this place? Because, architecturally, it's a gem, and y'all need to know about it. :-) Now the exterior alone is not worth driving over to Sunset for, it looks like many other warehouses in BK. But inside.. inside the BAT is something remarkable, specifically the atrium. Anything I write here is so not going to do it justice! A grid glass ceiling, dozens of balconies marching up the side of the building like steps, the brick, the concrete blocks, old train tracks. And then, pending the time of day you go, the light is so dreamy. There are so many pockets of shadows, I imagine it would be amazing to do a photoshoot there. I first had the opportunity to visit for work and then later for Open House NY. Sooo worth the trek across BK to see this buildings interior. If you have the opportunity to go - do it!

Never saw Ferry so empty loving it

As a resident of Bay Ridge for 15 years I'm ashamed to say I have never visited this area in Sunset Park. Now I marvel at this place and all that it is bringing to Bklyn residents. It's a surreal feeling when you get off the B37 bus on 58th and 3rd Avenue and start walking to the Terminal. It feels like an industrial city surrounded by water. As you get closer to the Terminal you see old railroad tracks as you cross over to the entrance. As you enter you see mammoth buildings: these buildings are now offering space to artists as I learned from a recent spot in NY1 news. Then you see the beautiful skyline rising from the water. Then there are these beautiful party boats that are docked: the Tennessee and New Victory. There are separate lines for Rockaway Beach, Wall Street Pier 11, and Bay Ridge pier. The parking is free and ample if you drive to the Terminal. BAT is becoming my home away from home as I am loving the new Ferry system that is transporting us to The Rockaways. It is accessible by train: Take R or N to 59th and walk about 15 minutes to BAT. By bus: B 11 leaves you in front of terminal entrance B37 leaves you at 60th and 3rd.

An old run-down military building. Still, it's a Brooklyn landmark, so there's credit in that.

Each area has its own set of bathrooms. Valet Parking The venue is in a residential neighborhood and they do not have a designated parking lot. I arrived way too early for my event, it was pouring down raining and the event before mine was letting out. The young men were overwhelmed with trying to get the cars for the departing guests. They didn't have any real organization to how they parked cars. I heard one say to another something like, check on 75th street. I watched them hit the button on many cars to try and determine where it might be. When I asked about parking I was told that they wouldn't be able to assist me anytime soon then I was asked to be patient and wait while they disbursed the leaving guests. I waited, not realizing that I was holding up a FedEx truck which ultimately held up traffic. Fortunately, my wait paid off and a valet was able to park me across the street. Train/Bus I'm sure there's a bus close, but I don't know which one. As I was leaving, when I approached the light, I noted the R Train Station. Ginger Ale/Sprite Venues are quick to give you cola and water and I always ask for Ginger Ale. Ginger Ale isn't available but they offer Sprite, upon request. Staff They're wait staff was full of young people and they were pleasant and did their best to make sure the guests were taken care of. The real question, would I go back? It's not someplace that I would make an effort to return to. If I had to park my car and walk the long block back to the venue or park on another block, I wouldn't be able to do it. Watching the young men look for cars to return to departing guest didn't bring me comfort. If the venue is convenient for you, go for it. However, when choosing this place, consider your guests ....

Ceremony was beautifully decorated. There was a water/lemonade station set up but it was abit too cold/windy for that. It got dark real fast mid-service and wished there was lighting available. Good thing the photographer had 1 light pole for pic to shine on the couple but other than that, it was cold and dark sitting there for the ceremony. Spacious and clean hall. Cocktail hour was also in the same space as dinner. I believe the ceremony started late and ran late; so the passed hors d'oeuvres was already available for us hungry guests. Trays of hors d'oeuvres and champagne greeted us when we stepped inside from the ceremony. Dinner was good and decent portion size. I believe the staff was short staffed as they weren't available to refill water glass and check on the table as much. They did a few initial check (before/and after meal) but not visibly seen as much. Overall, I enjoyed my evening here. Oh yeah, only noticed the next day that we never got the platter of cookies/brownies for the table at the end with our slice of wedding cake. Noticed it on the menu but none was given. Left 10min before party end and nada. Maybe they packaged it all up and gave it to the couple.

She made herself accessible to any question via text leading up to the event and the two staff that helped us with the set up were very kind. I had 17 kids and 24 adults and the space fit them all comfortably. The adults were able to sit in the area outside the party room and eat while peaking over the half wall to check on their kids. The kids had pizza, fries, and honest juice. I love that the package came with cupcakes for the kids too. If you want outside food, there is a $85 fee so we just opted to order catering through them and had zero regrets. Everyone raved how good the food was (spinach pie, penne a la vodka, buffalo wings, and pork slouvaki). Turned out I over ordered and there were left overs. Probably only needed one full tray each instead of two pork slouvaki trays. The only downsides were their no refund policy for no-shows and they should of had a bigger coffee dispenser so the adults didn't have to wait for it. Otherwise, it was a fairytale party for everyone to enjoy!

I was told no and no. I show up, a 3rd birthday party is in full swing, and it was JAMMED with kids ages ranging from barely walking to pre-teens. I was PISSED. Now I've hit the point of no return because I'm parked and here at the counter with my son yanking on the gate to get inside. There is really ZERO supervision here; I still have no idea who works here and who doesn't since no one has a name tag or a shirt on to tell the difference. Kids are running around, eating donuts in the ball pit, and screaming. You must watch your kids at your own risk. Yes, I understand it was a rainy day, but can you enforce some rules? My son likes it here because the music isn't "too loud" and he's right about that, but most of the toys are broken, old, or missing pieces. Can't even imagine when they cleaned down all the toys last; this place is showing its age.

The space was beautiful, the scenery amazing, and the overall vibe was definitely on point. What stood out the most, however, was the attentiveness and professionalism of your security staff and a gentleman I believe to be the manager or possibly the owner--Hasim or Hassan. A member of our party was not feeling well, and the staff responded immediately and with genuine concern. Security approached quickly, checked in, and asked whether an ambulance was needed. These are standard procedures, but as we all know, they aren't always handled so smoothly. The manager came over shortly after, took her vitals, brought water and ice, and even moved a large commercial fan to help her cool down. He returned with candy and remained attentive throughout--kind, responsive, and truly caring. It didn't feel like he was doing it out of obligation, but from a place of genuine concern. It's easy to overlook these moments, but I wanted to say thank you. Your team turned what could have been a scary situation into a moment that highlighted compassion and professionalism. Much respect!

I had my baby shower at Sunset Social and paid an additional $400 on top of their $1200 fee. I also added a throne chair for $150. When I got to the facility, they did not set up as they agreed, leaving us (including my pregnant self) to have to set up late. They gave me my paid-for throne chair at the end of our baby shower after having to ask them for it. I paid the $400 for the 360 photo booth, but they never provided the service because their photo booth operator got drunk and broke the equipment. (as I was told via phone call from JOSE RIVERA, AN ABSOLUTE LIAR WHO SAID HE WOULD REFUND MY MONEY) I was still charged for the service after Jose called to let me know he would not be charging. Both Jose & his gf came into my party, ate our food & drank our liquor (for our guests), all while looking high on drugs. I was mortified having my party at Sunset Social House!!! After I realized Jose was ignoring my messages about my $700 refund, I disputed the charge with my credit card. This is when Jose would reach out to try to "fix" things after initially ignoring me. When we spoke, we decided to let the dispute go through; however, Jose would then tell the credit company that he had already paid me, so my dispute would end with me being responsible. 3 TIMES WE WENT THROUGH THIS SINCE JANUARY. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!! I did not get my $300 security deposit back (after we cleaned up after our party), nor did I get my $400 for a service I did not receive. This only gets 1 star because I have to give it that minimally, I give this venue 0 stars.
