Overall, alot of venues in Brooklyn are overrated, sure there are places to party but compared to spots like in the NY nightlife scene back to or 15 years ago it does not add up. Overall, seems like not the best people did attend that one, but also not the worst group of people in all of New York did seem to attend that one either.

I feasted my eyes on exquisite paintings but with prices that ranged from $10K to $350K I could only see and take pictures for future enjoyment. I found out that several buyers had already made purchases. Three paintings caught my eye: Orange Blossoms on a Table (1860), Indian Encampment under Trees and the two women wearing cloche hats. Lectures were held on the ground floor. There was a bar and restrooms. The lady receptionist was charming and told me all about this venue. Unlike the exhibits at the Park Avenue Armory, this exhibit was complimentary. I enjoyed it immensely.

I really loved that they did staggered seating so that the person in front of you wasn't blocking your view. Although the musicians were on an elevated platform, I still couldn't really see them from one of the back rows. It would be great it they raised the platform or created a small stage on one end of the room so that everyone can see the performers. Otherwise, great venue.

Workville changed the game for me since leaving NYC due to COVID…read more My company office is in NYC but has been shut down since March and I ended up moving back to California, but my team is still in NYC. What am I going to do when traveling back to NYC and have no office to work from? Cue Workville and boy did they deliver. The location in mid-town is central to anywhere I need to travel to in NYC. Plenty of food options around and safety is paramount at Workville. Hand sanitizer is available throughout, counters are wiped down constantly, Workville residents respect mask-wearing in public areas. Most importantly, support is on hand at all times with Sue, Sabrina, and DJ. If you ask nice enough, they will even let you play your own personal Spotify playlist so you play DJ for your office mates. I love Workville not just for their office layout, nor the wrap-around outdoor deck from the 21st floor, or the free coffee... it's a vibe. A vibe that I need and crave when I visit NYC. As "Ahnuld" said it best, "I'll be back!"

There are such cool and unique plants/flowers, a pond with koi fish and turtles, bee place, gazebos, bird houses, place with sand to build sand castles, and composting spaces. It's a true garden oasis in the city where you can retreat to for some zen and peace and quiet. There are also a lot of cool community events happening here from live music, yoga, foraging classes, and pumpkin smashing. I'm glad I randomly just bumped into this while walking around this area. It is covered in greenery and there is also a small little amphitheater-like seating arrangement. During the week it's a great place to come mellow out, smoke a CBD joint (allegedly), or just read a book. On the weekend there will be little cookouts (I have yet to be invited to one but I remain optimistic), concerts, or just cool, niche events. A lot of culture in and out of La Plaza Cultural. Hahaha see what I did there? 3) I just have a lot, and I mean A LOT, of fun writing things. I've been thinking a lot about my mortality lately, and just think it'd be cool to have family and friends read these if I ever die young. I Every time I pass Terminal Warehouse, I can't help but…read morethink about what this building once represented. Long before it became an event venue, it was home to the legendary Tunnel nightclub... one of the most unforgettable nightlife spots in New York City during the 1990s. The music, the atmosphere, the industrial design, and the incredible crowds made it a place people still talk about decades later. It's amazing that the building still stands, preserving a piece of NYC history. I only wish there were more reminders of its past, whether through historical displays, photos, or special events celebrating the Tunnel era. So many legendary nights and memories were made within these walls. New York has always been a city that reinvents itself, but it's also important to remember the places that helped shape its culture. Bringing back even a small tribute to Tunnel would be an incredible way to honor that legacy. For anyone who remembers it, or anyone discovering its history for the first time, this building will always be much more than just another venue.

The exposed brick is a cool feature which was left over from the original structure and gives it personality compared to today's barren glass, steel, and colorless palates. I had a chance to wander this space recently for an event and as it was a nice day the ability to step into an outside corridor which connects a few other small businesses to take in some sun and fresh air was welcomed.

This specific event was set up in a way where we have to go up and try various food and drinks from each table - it was great being that the options were unlimited. The downside though was how limited the bathroom space was as well as the distance of the location from the subway ... if you're in heels either catch a cab or come with a "driver".
