Pier 36 port is right next to Pier 42. Located on 299 South St, New York Pier 36 port dock several cruise ships. The pier is famous for their public swings. It's attach to a building and over looks the waters. There was about four large swings and they were taken at that time but you can get in line for a photo op or to get the experience. The pier is pretty dirty (the steps had bird feces on it, old drinks that were spilled on it) and at that time only one food cart was available. There is a porter potty available on the side of the building but I do not recommend it; the porter potty was smeared with feces. Yuck! Thank God Pier 42 is right next door within walking distance and have clean bathrooms for use. Manhattan bridge and Brooklyn bridge is very close to the pier. A lot of photo ops. I booked the Majestic cruise ship for a tour of the Statue of Liberty and the surrounding area. It was a nice experience to be on the waters and see everything.

Mayor Adams' office pulled together a huge and varied event for small businesses. Everyone was helpful, they had table after table of guides advising people who want to start a business in NYC. There were speakers (they are really pushing these legalized cannabis opportunities btw) and workshops. Really a class act by everyone involved, very kind and patient people, especially considering how long a day it was. All the city agencies were there from DOB to FDNY to Parks, Law, even the Office of Nightlife (yes, it's a real thing, created by DeBlasio's administration). Always sign up for and read your NYC emails, this is how you learn about events like this.

This review is for the Beyond King Tut exhibit with Yelp Elite. This pier has a large space for the immersive experience that I enjoyed. The Beyond King Tut utilized visual and auditory programming to immerse the viewer into the experience. Before I got to the Pier, I took the subway, and it took me a good 10 minutes walking to get to the pier. I went to the Yelp Elite event during post-sun don hours so, some of the areas walking towards the exhibit where without light. I made sure to keep my phone on my person and pay attention to the location I was headed towards. Outside of that, it was challengings difficult to walk in the dark. Plus, I was initially confused on how to get inside. The reason is that the pier has a gated area for NYFD, and I was hoping I didn't have to go through the gated area to reach the pier. Besides this, I found my way to the exhibition and back to the train station.

This review is for the Van Gogh Exhibit and the convenience of getting to the pier. I took public transportation and used my phones GPS to guide me to the pier. From the time I stepped out of the train station, there were stickers on the ground of the Van Gogh exhibit and which way to walk. It took about 12 minutes as the blocks are really long, but I arrived safe & sound despite all of the sketchy characters in the area. Upon exiting the Van Gogh exhibition, there's a huge poster/mural on the back of the building in which you can see it from the D train and also if you were on a boat on the East River. There a vendor outside who's affiliated with the Van Gogh exhibit selling snacks upon exiting. Even without attending the exhibition, there is plenty of seating if you want to just hang out by the water. I have to do some research as I'm not quite sure what else is in the area, but now I'm curious. This was my first visit to pier 36.

When a friend told me about this pier, I didn't believe him. There is a place where you can swing and see an amazing view of city. If you want to surprise someone, this is the place to take him/her.

So I realized that a long time ago this area was part of the NYC sanitation garage. While now the area has been revitalized and it is looking fabulous. I came in to pier 36 because i was just walking towards south street to meet up with friends from out of town and he though the area was perfect for photos of the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridge scenery. Believe me, i had never been here either and i live in NYC, so i was even more surprised than he was. I found a good moment to take some beautiful pics, as well as to clear my head, have lunch and meditate as the boats move up and down the river. Truly a good spot for a sunrise. I think this is a hidden spot outside the seaport area that deserves some love.

An amazing place for sports and recreation I am here for the first time but I was already impressed by this wonderful place such a voluminous view high ceilings and a rack of platforms Where we just appeared and we will play basketball very friendly staff and a convenient location it is incredible on the river and not far from the metro. Thanks a lot to the owner! And who built this building!

NYC is just beautiful has so much to see and so much to do and definitely a lot of places to eat haha. It's turning into every Sunday trip that we are venturing out to explore our own hometown. This weekend we went by pier 35/36, they have built these metallic swings where you can sit relax and overlooking the beautiful waterfront and the iconic bridge, I can just imagine the view during the sunset must be priceless. The spot is also used for exercising.

I attended the "Halloween Goes Hollywood" boat cruise this past Saturday at Pier 36. This was a big deal and was looking forward to this because I haven't celebrated Halloween in years, maybe six or seven. It was my first time at this Pier, and it was wonderful. Great boat (Cornucopia Majesty) and the security were helpful and informative. They have two Halloween boats departing from the same pier, and the guards at each step would let you know which direction to walk to your boat. The Cornucopia Majesty was a three tier boat that had two separate individual parties going on simultaneously. The people on the boat were extremely friendly, the boated departed a bit later than the ticket said they would, but that's quite already. The negatives were drinks were a bit ($14 per drink that was mostly ice) and they had food for sale, that wasn't exactly great, but its a boat, not a gourmet restaurant. Overall, Gordon Shumway (Alf), had a great time aboard the boat, meeting some nice people aboard the time, enjoyed the music that was played, and hopefully get to be aboard next Halloween.

The parking is ungodly expensive, but it's Manhattan so.... The Van Gogh exhibit is nice and I'm sure they have other interesting events in what is a pretty large space in downtown nyc.

I recently attended one of their free yoga classes as part of their Winter Fitness program. The space is pretty large and comfortably held the 40 or so attendees the night I attended yoga. We all were informed beforehand to bring our own mats and towels as these would not be provided. The yoga sessions are run by different yoga companies and the one I attended was by Sputnik Yoga and was a silent headphone yoga session. We each were provided, free of charge, headphones to wear during class. This was my first time attending a session like this but had a blast! The headphones took a bit getting used to, but I loved that you could clearly hear the teacher during the class. They also played some cool music while helping to block out all other sounds. This really helped me focus on the movement and the instructions. The class was an open level Vinyasa but the movements and flow were slightly advance. It was quite a workout and I was sweaty by the end. After class, we were each given wipes to sanitize the headphones and our mats. Then we all took selfies in this beautiful space and one final group picture, which they posted on their Instagram account. This was by far the coolest yoga class I've ever taken. I've been telling all of my friends and co-workers about it and have already signed up for some of their upcoming classes. Overlook offers other types of activities like Meditation, Ribbon Dancing, Barre classes and Story time for kids. It is a great place to watch the skaters below and enjoy Bryant Park's free activities. I highly recommend trying them out.

The event location offers sweeping views of the Hudson River, the Vessel, and a good deal of Manhattan and New Jersey's Gold Coast. The areas are supposed to be customizable, and I recently attended a party on the 21st floor. The space was more limited than I had expected, but I think it might have been configured as such. For instance, according to its website, it could fit up to 150 guests for a cocktail party or 20-120 guests for a seated dinner, but this setup held about 60-70 patrons. However, it was able to accommodate a coat check, a bar, a DJ station, a photo booth, and a few couches, while still allowing room for attendees to gather in groups and servers to pass out hors d'oeuvres. The party I attended was catered by Abigail Kirsch, and the food was fabulous in both taste and quantity. So, while the Glasshouse Chelsea is pretty far west and not the most convenient, its ability to set the scene for a great event makes it worth the trip, either as an organizer/planner or as an attendee.
