My first time at Siricos and it was a perfect experience. I attended a Christmas Party and the venue was wonderful. I drove into Bay Ridge Brooklyn from Long Island and was lucky enough to get a parking spot in front of my friend's house who is just up the block from Siricos. Walking trough Bay Ridge itself at Christmas is an experience. So many houses lit up so beautifully. This made for an extra nice walk to Siricos. This is a beautiful venue for a party and the big room we were in was clearly in a 'Christmas theme.' There were plenty of hors d'oeuvres circulating (pigs in blankets, meatballs, spanakopita, and more) as we were all coming in a finding our tables mingling and just enjoying the holiday spirit. It was a large-bright-comfortable setting with plenty of dance space and walking room. There was a DJ along with a photo booth that kept everyone busy for the night. We all sat down for dinner after some brief announcements and opening ceremonies. The serves were wonderful coming around taking our orders of the usual beef, chicken and fish. We started with a pasta and salad. My chicken was hot tasty and tender. My wife truly enjoyed the beef. Jim Sirico Sr, and Jim Jr have heard the masses loud and clear - give the people what they want - good food and a great place to have a reception - and so it was done! Both of these gentlemen were more than accommodating and gave us a lot to think about when sizing up the other possibilities for a wedding venue. This place has definitely gotten renovations underway within very recently, and it's made a huge difference in the overall feel of wanting that wedding hall you've been looking for. Yes, the outside is still the same, but you're not having your venue outside are you? My fiance and I came here for a tasting, and we were amazed at not only the prices, but what you actually get to choose from! We tried fried rice balls, penne ala vodka, NY strip steak, salmon orgenetta, and much, much more! Everything was tasteful, beautifully presented, and cooked to order. Our families and friends are big on food, and we knew that we weren't going to get this selection any where else. The room we chose was when you first walk in, to your immediate right, is what I like to call the "sunroof room" which has these amazingly high skylights that flooded the room with sunshine. Mirrors are all around the room, helping to give it depth, and the dance floor was wood flooring, which around it was an ornate carpet. The dais table was the focal point, and we were assured we can arrange the tables at a diagonal to fill the room up more since we would have about 80-90 guests only. The food selection: - 18 choices for cocktail hour including carving stations! (I'm talking bakes clams, pasta, cheese boards, quiche, even sushi (at an extra cost)) - 5 entrees to choose from (fish, chicken, beef, pork loin, and vegetarian) - cookies and pastries on each table - wedding cake from Aunt Butchie's - Premium liquor ('cuz that's what everyone wants on the side of their dinner) Deposits can be made in cash, check, or any major credit card. You will need to take a good look through my pictures, and I'm sure you'll see that you can have a party from any size, and know you will be accommodated. Attended Disco Night w/DJ Eddie D and guest Carol Douglas. The whole evening seemed disorganized. We presumed that the buffet would be open @ 7:30 followed by the DJ and Carol Douglas thereafter. We asked about the status of the buffet and was told it would open @ 8:30. Suddenly, we heard the DJ speak something inaudible and then people started heading toward the food stations. Table #s were being called at random but no one could understand him. The sound system was extremely poor. Someone should have gotten everyone's attention and then called table #s. It was so chaotic. Also, no one could see Carol Douglas because people at the front tables were standing. She should have been given a platform/stage so everyone could sit down and enjoy her performance. The dance floor was too small for the amount of people. There was more room to dance when Disco Unlimited was there in 2019. Now to the DJ. He was terrible. The music was far from 70's disco - it was more like techno music. Now to the restrooms. Having the restrooms on a lower level is not practical. There were a lot of people with mobility issues who were not able to use the stairs. For a while, they could use the bathroom near the kitchen. However, after a while, we were told it was being locked and we had to use the lower level restroom. The stairs are much too steep even for the able bodied. Needless to say, my friends and I said if Sirico's has another event like that, we're not going. read more

A good neighborhood joint, but I suspect if there are other options should definitely shop around. Came here for pre wedding festivities. The dance floor and decorations are solid, and food is diverse in choices (salmon, steak tips, lemon chicken, eggplant parm), but flavoring is lacking in depth and umami. Being that they are in my neighborhood and they already have the shitty ratings and reviews, I'm just going to say what this place needs the most: Rennovations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then after making that point perfectly clear, lets up the anti with the wait staff, and hire some professionals and dress them nicer. Get nicer furniture, chairs, tables, and dinnerware.That will make the place feel more important. Carefully edit the menu, because certain things were very tasty Italian staples, and some things could be dropped. Last of all, instead of that cheap, generic soda, try to show some class and use quality products. If you blatently use crap out in the open, what do you expect people to think goes on in the kitchen? I think you can do better Siricos, show Dyker Heights some respect! read more

It would take a milestone event to get me to take out a second mortgage to cross the Outerbridge and then the Verrazano and shlep into Brooklyn. And it was: my xxth High School reunion, held at Sirico's last weekend. It's a little hard to separate the venue, food and service provide by Sirico's and the actual event set up by the planning committee, but overall, I think Sirico's did a very good job. A cocktail hour with an open bar was fairly well stocked. Waiters passed hors d'oeuvres - meatballs, pigs in blankets, individual crudites with dip in tiny glasses, spanakopita triangles - nothing unusual or exciting, but mostly tasty, except for the piggies, which are usually my fave but tasteless here. The room was freezing, but it was a very uneven temperature. Unfortunately, my table was right near a heavy blow hole. It was an attractive room, with oval tables for 12. They were a little chintzy with the bread: not that I needed it, but I didn't see the bread basket until after the meal was over. That size table should have two baskets, not one set at one end. Dinner was served buffet style, with a pork scaloppine, chicken marsala, pasta, carving station with roast turkey and brisket. Mashed potatoes went almost unnoticed, set out in individual glasses helter-skelter among the pans. Weirdly, salad was at the very end of the serving line, so many of us, with no room on the plate, skipped it. The food was good. Dessert was make your own sundaes, with the usual toppings. Service was decent, although coffee was served while I was in the restroom, and I had a hard time getting a waiter to bring me some. All in all, it wasn't quite as lavish as the two earlier reunions I had attended, both of which were in a fancy catering hall then owned by one of our fellow graduates, but it was a good choice for us Brooklynites to catch up with old friends in a town that's sadly not the Brooklyn of our youth. read more

Came here for a friend surprise party. Didn't know what to expect after some reviews. The place was well decorated and the staff was friendly and respectful. They really know their food and drinks and made the whole time there really enjoyable. Their penne a la vodka was delicious as the rest of the food. Attended a sweet sixteen this weekend and the bartender was so rude !! Limiting drinks to everyone when it was open bar and clearly paid for! He had rude remarks i asked him for a beer politely and his response was "oh yeah cause I'm a mind reader and can tell what beer you want" rude terrible service from this guy even saying the bar was closed.. Only one thing some of the guests got the wrong table cause I didn't assign them to that table and I have to make some arrangements. My sister in law celebrated her 50th Wedding Anniversary at Sirico's Caterers and we had a great time, "Happy 50th" Family. My first impression of Sirico's from it's outside appearance was very impressive. The building it self has great curb appeal and charm. However, once you enter the main foyer you're met with that old style banquet hall feel and smell. The hall where the event was held was spacious, somewhat modern, and in my opinion very well decorated. The dance floor was a little small but not a good size, if many people wanted to dance. I would like to give the servers a very special shout out because of their service to detail and attentiveness. They made sure you were happy and received everything you needed during your time there, again the servers were great. We were offered hors d'oeuvres, choice of pasta, and a main course. The hors d'oeuvres were not very good accept for the vegetable tempura. The Penne Pasta was mediocre, i thought the gravy could has been much better considering the ethnic history of the area in which we were in. My main course consisted of Salmon, vegetable medley, and roasted potatoes, and it was horribly plated and tasted very bland. The drinks were typical, watered down and not Top Shelf quality. If someone needed to use the rest room or powder room they had go downstairs, which i though wasn't convenient for older guest. I would have given Sirico's a much higher approval rating had things been different. I think moving forward Sirico's should learn from this review and make several changes to their Banquet Hall, if they are to stay competitive in this business. Many people today are looking for a more modern approach and updated halls to celebrate special occasions. They want Good Food, Good Service, Convenience, and most of all ambience with a modern twist. Sirico's will not withstand future success in the long term if this isn't done. Sirico's should consider making substantial changes to their venue. read more

Went to my first ever event at Sirico's yesterday for a Christening. I've passed this place like a gazillion times. I've heard so/so things about the food/decor, etc. But I have to tell you, I had a great experience. Is it the most modern catering hall I've ever been to? No. However....one of the most important things at any catering hall is the food. I've been to some really big/beautiful halls and the food was not that great. Sirico's food was DELICIOUS. I thought all the food was really good--passing hors d'oeuvres and the Buffett were delicious---everything. I thought the room we were in was pretty too---lots of great light coming through. After reading some of the reviews, I was a bit leary, but I definitely would have an event here. The staff was attentive and friendly also. Overall a great place! read more

We celebrated my dad's 60th birthday party here and the decor, service and food were exquisite. The owner Jimmy and his son made sure everything was running smooth. All my guests kept telling me how nice the hall was. They also loved the food! The open bar had top shelf liquid unlike these other places that give you cheap liquor. I recently had an 80th Birthday for my Dad at Sirico's. I never read the reviews as it had been recommended to me by friends who had previous parties. I was looking for a location central to NYC and NJ. I disagree wholeheartedly with the reviews posted here. When my guests arrived the valet promptly assisted them with their cars and parked them securely in a lot owned by Sirico's. The maitre d immediately approached us and attended to our every need during the affair. The food was delicious Italian, fresh, high quality ingredients and great presentation. When we entered the party room the room sparkled and looked fabulous. Its been about two weeks now and I'm still hearing how exceptional the food was. I would recommend Siricos to anyone who wants a party to remember. read more

Although the service was good,the entertainers (dj,m.c.) were awesome, and the food was delish. I had the salmon (salmon in Italian), which was well cooked. The waiters were attentive, and ready to assist you if you needed anything. The atmosphere was wonderful and although I was there for my GF and her family, I had a wholesome good time. My wife and I chose Sirico's for our wedding (~150 guests) this past August 2011 and we are extremely happy we did. Despite what some other reviews say here, having been to many weddings in the NYC area, I can say that the food here was even comparable if not better than the much more expensive Russo's. My wife's family is from the mid-west, my family is local, and our friends are from all over the world: EVERYONE loved the wedding and the high quality and magnitude of food served was the most talked about aspect. The only reason I can think for the negative food reviews I've seen are that perhaps the quality of a party differs from that of a wedding-- the other reviews do not specify what type of event they were attending. On the flip side, the hall is fairly nice but nowhere near the most gorgeous of the halls in the city. The waiters, attendants and bartenders were extremely good, but the maitre d' wasn't all that great and there was one older woman that we found out later on was just miserable to everyone. Of course, these minor issues are largely overlooked with the good food, the included premium open bar, a good DJ keeping people dancing (we used Extreme Rhythm DJs, who take care of many events at Sirico's). The last point I need to make concerns the value: you simply will not get anything near this quality and magnitude in Brooklyn or the rest of NYC for the low price you pay at Sirico's. The quote here was far below most of the other halls for what we were offered-- it seemed too good to be true. I kept waiting to hear about hidden fees, service charges or whatever, but they never came. The managing staff and owner are extremely honest and give you exactly what they say they will and more. To me, this is my top reason for recommending Sirico's to others for your wedding. read more

I had given them a heads up that I would have someone coming with a walker. I was told not to worry about it that it would be taken care of..... it wasn't. Been having parties at Sirico's for more than 40 years, and the one constant has been the quality of what's on the plate, it's always excellent. I have been to affairs in bigger, more glamorous and higher priced venues, but the food is dismal when compared to the meals served at Sirico's. They are always "tweaking" both the menu and the hall, so every time we attend a function there, there's something new to see or taste. The owners have always been gracious and the staff is always top notch. To me, this is Brooklyn's best deal for a catered affair. read more

What a nice venue to host an event! I go to so many of these all over the place, as far north as Poughkeepsie, as far south as Staten Island, across the river in New Jersey and out east. Going to one tomorrow in Massachusetts! But the event this past Thursday night was so wonderful I had to grab Jimmy Sirico and tell him how great it was. I asked him to give the staff raises as they were exceptional. I understand the people who have complained about the bartender in their reviews as he was a bit gruff but hey, this is BROOKLYN, not Bedford, Briarcliff, Bridgehampton or Bedminster. Get over it LOL. The food was sumptuous and I even got four plates to take home. The service was impeccable. The atmosphere is elegant and there's no "old style banquet hall smell" or whatever that person whined about from last month. I live fifty-five miles north and am rarely in Brooklyn but it was worth it. I hope next year's gala will be held at Sirico's again! read more

I can't believe what I am reading here. We have had two parties at Sirico's and both have been PERFECT. We had our children's B'nai Mitzvah at Sirico's on 11-17 and it was fantastic. Hercules and his staff were accommodating, attentive, and the food was wonderful as usual. The service staff and attention to detail were exceptional. Everyone who attended had a fantastic time and are still talking about what a great party it was. Many of our guests had also attended out Wedding at Sirico's years ago and were thrilled to be going back. Thank you to all at Sirico's for a memorable day ! read more

We recently had our wedding at Sirico's. First of all the room that we held our reception in was absolutely gorgeous. From the plants to the natural light (huge skylight) to the elegant chairs and linens, just beautiful. Second, my guests are still telling me how great the food was, which was very important to me. Lastly, the wait staff and our Maitre d, Todd was both attentive and polite and seemed like they genuinely wanted everyone to have a great time. I'd like to give a special shout out to Hercules who took care of us throughout the whole planning process. He always made himself available to answer questions or provide advice. He helped us create an amazing menu and kept this panicky bride calm and happy. Sirico's was incredibly accommodating and just made the whole process fun. I have never been to Sirico's before....needless to say, I will never go back! The place looks nice from the outside, but as we sat for dinner my opinion changed. The waiters try hard, but the inexperience is very obvious! Some of their uniforms were too big and others were stained and filthy. As our waiter served the pasta, he stood right over me and didn't notice that he was dripping pasta sauce on my pants. I didn't want to make a big deal, so I just kept quiet. As I picked up the silverware to eat my pasta, I noticed that the fork was old, greasy, and deformed as well as my knife. I had to clean them thoroughly with my napkin. I ordered the steak medium rare, but when it was served it wasn't to my liking. For desert cake was served. As it was brought out the waiters carried them one plate on top of each other. As they placed the plate on the table they didn't notice that the bottom of most plates were covered with cake frosting. There was cake frosting all over the tablecloth. I feel that if more attention is placed to the details most of these deficiencies can be corrected! read more

After searching Catering Halls in Brooklyn and Queens my daughter finally decided on Sirico's. The wedding was held a month ago and both bride and groom were very happy with the choice. The staff was professional and courteous. Management catered to our every desire and was quick to correct anything we brought up as an issue, although there were only a few minor ones as will happen with any large event. The in house DJ had the party rocking and few of our guests remained in their seats for very long all night. The food was better than we would have imagined and got rave reviews from most of our guests. Not your typical 'catered event' prime rib...it was top notch and not meaty. The fish was fresh and juicy, the calamari was outstanding, and the rice balls were more like a meal than a side. At the end of the party, as the person paying the bill, I couldnt be happier. The only negative was typical of a city catering hall but they get around that by having valet parking and their own private lot to keep cars safe. I highly recommend and will use them again in the future. read more
