We got married in October so needless to say this review is long over due. Lanie did an amazing job on everything from talking me down off the ledge during my wedding planning to making my dream wedding a reality. I waited 57 years to get married and like any bride, wanted everything perfect. It turns out the only thing I didn't stress over were my flowers. I knew from the minute I met Lanie that she understood exactly what look and feel I wanted and that look and feel would end up being exactly as I wanted it. What I didn't know is that her talent and attention to every detail helped to make my special day even more amazing than I could ever have imagined. I couldn't be happier with the professionalism, communication, creativity, and execution of Lanie and her floral arrangement art. We hired Little Thistle Design for our wedding and asked for boutonnières, bouquets, centerpieces for guest tables and couple tables, and welcome table arrangement. Lanie was very responsive and she helped to calm my nerves knowing that I could count on her. I had a broad sense of what I envisioned but she focused in on some key elements and really brought out the beauty and unique character of my dreams. Seriously the best decision I made for my wedding (aside from marrying the groom, of course!) Lanie was there every step of the way. She calmed me down when I started getting stressed and she and I would text ideas back and forth at all hours of the day. I wasn't sure I would find someone that would be able to bring my ideas to life, and Little Thistle went above and beyond--everything looked even better than I could have envisioned! They say "something always goes wrong at a wedding, so prepare in advance for any bumps in the road," especially considering how long I waited to start planning, but this was not true for me. My entire day went smoothly from start to finish and I truly believe I have my vendors to thank for that, most notably Lanie. I have been asked SO many times who has done my flowers and at this point I am shouting "Little Thistle!" from the rooftops. I want everyone to know about Lanie and the magic she worked. Since my wedding (less than a month ago) I have already referred her to another bride who still did not have flowers one week before her wedding, and Lanie made it work beautifully and did it on a small budget. Lanie is a wonderful human being. I found Lanie via Yelp. She was one of the few florists who didn't turn me down or stop responding after I asked if they were able to work with my budget for my wedding. My venue was also not at all close to where she works, however, she charged a VERY reasonable price for delivery to my wedding site. From the beginning to the end, Lanie was always super responsive and accommodating- she takes your ideas, provides her input and makes it all come to life (and more!). It really helped to have someone as helpful and resourceful as Lanie because we had a short engagement (4 months). She was completely supportive of the fact that this was my wedding and that she will work within my budget to give me the most bang for my buck. She was constantly taking on roles beyond being my florist... offering to support me in other areas as well. I had little details in addition to my centerpieces that weren't related to florals and she took on that responsibility too without hesitation. There were absolutely no point in time where I felt neglected or concerned that her creation would be anything short of amazing. The week before my (outdoor) wedding, we had gotten news that there would be a rainstorm. For the whole week, we were closely following the weather forecast and holding off on making changes unless absolutely necessary. Lanie consistently checked in with me to see how I was doing and feeling. She was so flexible with 11th hour changes and rolled with them with great stride and so much positivity. When she found out how much our wedding renters were charging us for a tent, she went ahead and tried to contact a few vendors to see if there were any that would be able to offer me a better pricing. She even went and bought more flowers than promised because she knew that the weather was a big damper on our wedding. Lanie is so sweet and a truly compassionate individual. Because of the weather, we decided to change our ceremony to take place under the reception tent. (A change that we made the night before our wedding). Lanie arrived early to set up on our wedding day and laid out each center piece so that it was easy for our helpers to set up after the ceremony. The whole floral decor for our wedding was far better than what I had dreamed and more than what I was promised. I was blown away by how everything turned out. After the wedding, my now-husband and I left the next morning for our honeymoon and wasn't going to be back for over a week. Lanie was really understanding and wanted me to enjoy my honeymoon rather than thinking about cleaning up after the wedding. When we did arrive back, it was difficult transitioning between moving in to our new place and sorting all the wedding decors. Again, Lanie does not live close to where I live, but still offered to come and pick up the items from us! You know a truly genuine person when you meet one, and Lanie is definitely that. A few of my friends have gotten engaged since and I've always recommended them to Lanie. If you're reading this, don't hesitate to reach out to Lanie! The best. Planned our entire wedding. Not only did Little Thistle do the floral design for our Echo Park wedding, but they were also our wedding planner. It was pretty much the best decision we made, ever - aside from deciding to get married obviously. Lanie of Little Thistle, even though 7 months pregnant at the time, was running around coordinating every detail of the day. Details down to adorable floral crowns for my nieces to wear as flower girls and making our cake really pop with a colorful floral garnish. She handled everything effortlessly so my husband and I could simply enjoy the day and each other. Little Thistle worked with us, the venue, our photographer, and our cake designer to ensure that our vision for the day was carried through in every aspect of the wedding. Chupah design? Oh yeah, they've got that covered too. Lanie is the easiest person to work, so down to earth, and she has the incredible ability to take your idea and make it ten times better than you ever imagined. My first Yelp review! We had high demands for our wedding-a 1950s/60s Palm Springs Desert Modern theme, to be transported back in time. Little Thistle brought our idea alive. They delivered big. Flowers were desert blooms and succulents, in bright oranges, yellows, and greens, that popped and were perfect to the Mid-Century Modern period. Little Thistle took care of every detail, down to boutonnières and bouquets for the wedding party and design extras for the entryway tables, for guests' gifts and seating cards. All of it was perfectly fitting within and creating our 1950s/60s Palm Springs Desert theme. Little Thistle's creates weddings that are simply beautiful. They listen.
