I tried to give a local business my business since covid has devastated many local small businesses. I first reached out privately on Facebook messenger to check if they were open for orders. Today my husband surprised me with a delivery from Zuzu's. First, I absolutely LOVE the bouquet they put together. I know it definitely was a last minute request because I know my husband lol. The customer service here was absolutely unacceptable, which is a shame because based on Yelp reviews and photographs, this appears to be a decent florist. So after ordering flowers to be delivered to my mother on Mother's Day, I discover late that evening that the flowers were never, in fact, delivered. The problem is, I found out by contacting my mother, who told me that she never received anything. No one at Zuzu's bothered to inform me that the flowers were not delivered. I mean, you would think it would be the decent thing to do, right? Out of courtesy? Out of common sense? I guess not. I contacted Zuzu's and was informed that they could not get to my mother's gated home, and that the call box apparently did not work. Did they call her at the phone number that I provided? No. Did they call me with the phone number that I provided? No. Did they lie about the call box not working? Probably, because the call box does in fact work. Nevertheless, I was finally able to speak to someone at Zuzu's the following day. Mother's Day is, of course, over. I asked about what can be done about this and was told that they could either attempt to redeliver or to credit my account. I ask if there is anything special that can be done for my mother since she sat around on Mother's Day without any flowers which I had hoped for her to receive since I was unable to see her in person. The gentleman I spoke with, who said he did not have a cell phone the day before while out on delivery (of course he did not), said "no, we cannot do anything else," and "since you don't want it redelivered, we'll credit your account," and proceeded to hang up on me. Basically, tough shit, here's your money back, click. Nicely played. Now as a follow up, I did receive a call subsequently thereafter by a woman who was very nice, but this still did not make up for my prior experience. As a professional business, I expected Zuzu's to display at least a tolerable level of customer service. I guess my expectations were too high. read more

Let me preface this by saying I'm a typical guy who knows next to nothing about flowers. As many typical guys know, flowers can be a great way to get out of trouble with a woman quickly. That's where Deirdre at Zuzu's Petals came in. After deciding that I needed to act fast if I wanted to stay in my lady's good graces, I went to Yelp! to find a good flower shop. I was at work so I needed same day delivery, with sooner being better. I called in and spoke to Deirdre, who pointed me in the right direction after I described a little bit about what I wanted. She mentioned that the arrangement would be delivered locally in a few hours. To my surprise, I get a call from my girlfriend about 40 minutes later thanking me for the beautiful flowers. :) All was good. Overall, I had a terrific experience with Zuzu's. Friendly service and a great product. As far as price goes, it's quite reasonable. You might get away with spending a little less via 1-800-FLOWERS or ProFlowers, but unless you want your flowers showing up in a FedEx box, stick to a real flower shop like Zuzu's Petals. I was truly impressed with the result, and the arrangement looked more expensive than it cost.
