Three years later, our kids - almost 8 and 4.5-year-old- are so much better off with AZ&A than without. AZ&A has helped us get to know our kids and ourselves as parents as well as it has been one of the most impactful support systems in our family life. The leaders and the counselors are beyond amazing and feel a part of our family. I am forever grateful to the wonderful spirit who introduce me to AZ&A and said, "there is a better way", try AZA - the hidden gem of Lincoln Park for kids and parents. We started coming…read morewhen our youngest was an infant, she had some delays due to being cord wrapped in utero, and Karen has been wonderful with her, dealing with the eventual emotional delays and really teaching us how to help her regulate. Karen has given us a lot of support with parent calls, articles and tips for us to help her. We eventually needed to bring our oldest because she was having difficulties with her emotions and being able to regulate. We work with Katie, who has also been wonderful and the key to our child's progress has been regular parent meetings with Katie. I found I had to work just as hard on myself and understanding my reactions. This was fundamental to helping my child progress. Katie has really pushed me in a good way and has also been supportive with podcasts, articles and goals. If you are looking for some place to be passive and hope your child improves, this is not the place for you. If you are willing to get in there and play with your kid and get a deeper understanding of his/her struggles to boost yours and your kids emotional intelligence - this is the place. They are really good about helping you with insurance as much as they can. The physical environment is like no other clinic, it is much more like a home and less like a clinical space.

Between the nurses, the CNA's, the home health coordinator, the physical therapists and the occupational therapists we have been able to breathe easy knowing she had kind, empathetic, knowledgeable professionals available at a moments notice to help us through some very trying and emotional times. Melissa met with us literally a few hours after his birth and really helped me figure things out and get into a routine. when I later had problems with an oversupply/fast letdown preventing my baby from latching at all- forcing us to switch to bottles- I texted her at night and she responded within the hour with assistance. she then met with me first thing in the morning and literally within the call he was back to latching at the breast with no issues! haven't needed to use a bottle since. I would HIGHLY recommend Melissa, she really knows what she's doing, makes herself available for you, and is so positive and reassuring about the process. many thanks to her!!

I contacted this practice to request an **in-person** consultation. The first question I was asked was not my name or concern, but rather, "What insurance do you have?" I was then informed that **all initial consultations are conducted virtually**. Despite expressing multiple times that I was only comfortable with an in-person visit, I was repeatedly told to proceed with scheduling a virtual appointment and to check with my insurance about coverage. After setting an appointment, I again inquired about the earliest possible date for an in-person follow-up. I was told that most clients don't need in-person visits and that one might be possible the following week if they decided it was warranted. I felt dismissed and somewhat embarrassed for asking--despite my request being both personal and reasonable. For many, myself included, the idea of being partially undressed on a Zoom call is deeply uncomfortable, especially when discussing something as sensitive as breastfeeding. I also had concerns that a virtual visit might rely too heavily on generic recommendations, many of which I've already tried. Lactation consultants need to be present to help the mom maneuver their breast. This is supposed to be (to the extent a mother wants this) a hands-on experience. When I decided to cancel my appointment, **only then** was I offered an in-person visit the very next day. At that point, I no longer felt confident that this provider would prioritize or listen to my individual needs, so I chose to seek care elsewhere. While I do believe this practice could be a helpful resource for others, my personal experience fell short. From the initial focus on insurance over care, to the lack of flexibility or empathy regarding my comfort and preferences, it became clear this was not the right fit for me. I'm seeking support from someone who genuinely wants to help me meet my breastfeeding goals--not someone who sees me as just another appointment on the schedule.

Lindsay immediately connected with my daughter and has made OT such a fun experience that she actually counts down the days until she gets to go and brags to her preschool friends when she's headed to OT. As a parent, this level of enthusiasm goes a long way in my book. Additionally, Lindsay is an extremely talented therapist who has not only helped my daughter make significant strides in mere months, but also proven to me the value of OT (which says a lot since I was previously pretty skeptical). I also appreciate that after my daughter's initial assessment there was a clear plan for treatment. We've had good follow up on the PT side (which was deemed a lower priority) and good communication between therapists. It's nice to have a more comprehensive approach rather than carting between multiple therapy appointments, therapists, and clinics.

She called my Dr's and told them to stop all my medications including medication for Epilepsy because after seeing me two times she was worried about liability and not what was in me "the patients" best interest. I was left with no primary during a very serious health crisis and all three Dr's who she called could not believe what she was doing and saw no reason to stop my medications. Update 2/07/13 It seems a little out of proportion all the funny click-throughs for my review and useful clicks on the new review. All I can say is my Doctors that I still see to this day always comment to me every time I come in they could not believe what this DR. did to me in trying to cut off my medications without fully understanding the scope of my other conditions that I see specialists for. I am permanently disabled and for a Dr. to do that during a medical crisis is devastating to say the least.

I am a registered nurse and when I switched jobs I was referred to her by some of my coworkers. She is so incredibly sweet and understanding. I feel like she really listens to me and she cares about patient input. I never have to wait more than 5-10 minutes to see her. Even if you don't have a appointment they take walk ins and the wait is never long! We are going to be with her for a long time to come!
