We had a great experience with Little Steps for both my children, both PT and OT. My son thrived with Heather and grew so much.

When our then just turned one girl began at NSPT in April, she wasn't walking and barely rolling…read moreover. She was refusing the appropriate table foods, and mainly bottle fed. Thanks to her physical therapist, via both weekly office visits and get suggested at home routine, by August, she was up and walking. It is now six months later, and we can barely catch her when she takes off. We've gotten detailed progress reports all along the way. As for the feeding, the therapy was invaluable in terms of types of foods, tricks, and techniques. We have since discontinued the feeding therapy, as after the first few months, what we learned has been effective and she has been eating the appropriate foods, and it now depends on her tastes. Personal relationships were built between she and both therapists. Her big sister, who's always along for the ride seems to know the whole crew as well. One thing that I've noticed that some people don't get is that these are therapists, each with an area of expertise. This being said, they are not physicians. They can offer insight and advice regarding your child's progress, but they are not licensed to provide a medical diagnosis. Further concerns should be addressed with your pediatrician. If there's one blemish, it's the parking situation. They share a fairly small parking lot with other offices in the building. While their is some street parking, when you're lugging in one or more children and infants, and the associated supplies, it's quite a pain. It's too bad, as right behind the office is the parking lot for something (auto shop?) that's always vacant, but parking there is prohibited. That part is by no means NSPT's fault, but it's too bad that they can't buy out a portion of that lot.

Literally because we wanted to reduce hours for the benefit of my son they told us we would be "discharged". This was after frequent SIB and a neurologist suggesting to cut hours. This is after giving them over 7,000 dollars. They refused to work with us or even try to reduce hours! Also BCBA came here on Fridays for a hour and did nothing but try to push hours and talk. She was supposed to be helping us with daily living skills and she did none of that. We wasted about 8 or 9 months there and lots of $$. Stay away from Karen the BCBA and this whole place. They care about money not what is best for the child

My kids loved spending time with them and also had so much fun "playing" not even realizing they were practicing speech. Every session we saw improvement and were given the materials and insights on how to do this at home. Can't recommend them enough!

My 2.5yr old son was experiencing severe language delays and a lot of frustration. His entire vocab…read morewas maybe 10 clear words. He had started speech therapy through another agency, however he was not progressing or enjoying the sessions. We switched to this agency and the difference was like night and day! When Kate first contacted us I was incredibly impressed by her professionalism and attention to detail (I'm a clinical social worker - so my standards for service delivery and therapeutic outcomes are very high. And hey, this therapy is for my kid. And he rocks). Our first session with Kate was fantastic. My son warmed to her straight away, and from then on would stand by the window before each session waiting for her to turn up. And open and close the door for her like the gentleman he is. During the first week, we spent time setting goals and talking about how we would be able to assess his development. I also appreciated that Kate told me from the beginning, that she would be transitioning us over to a new therapist, Angie, in a few months. The transition was seamless. Both Kate and Angie have worked so hard with my son and genuinely care about him. They celebrate his successes and cheer him on as loudly as we do. Both have a freakishly good memory and know all his favorite toys, games and activities. Even his favorite color (orange...weird choice, but ok). Angie has even visited his school and met with his teacher to provide extra education for her. So cool. More than anything, I have appreciated how family-centered their practice is. Both therapists have provided us with a wealth of education about ways we can work with him at home, recommendations for schooling and invaluable support and advice. Last year, we had a grunting and screaming kid who was shy and retreating further into his shell. Now we have a little dude that is confident, can string a sentence together and has a wide vocab ("sour cream" and "mouthwash" - anyone?). The greatest joy is to see him so happy and understood by others! I cannot recommend this agency more highly!

Our child made very little progress and at no point in the YEAR of therapy were any goals or progress shared with us -- I don't think the therapists wrote any goals which is extremely poor form. The practice seems to have high turnover -- our first therapist left after a few months. Perhaps most annoying we asked for a meeting to discuss our concerns with the owner and our therapist, and we didn't even receive a response. We had to follow up a second time and tell them we weren't paying for any more therapy until we had a meeting. We are looking for a new OT . . .

We have had the best experience and our daughter has shown great improvements. If it wasn't for our OT and Social Worker we would have left along time ago due the the billing department.
