It is painful to say the least seeing your child's confusion and frustration that despite his best efforts, he is not being understood. I remember clearly the first time I realized that I was in the midst of the longest conversation I ever had with him. I knew then he'd be okay and we owe that to Ms. Katie. Her approach is great. My son does not see his sessions as work. He looks forward to going to "Ms. Katie's house". She sits down with us and the end of every session to let us know his progress and/or where he's struggling. Her at-home exercises are practical and easy to follow but effective. I see my son applying her techniques daily on his own, without prompting. The location is great and very easy to get to. Parking is always available in the lot. They have weekend hours too which are a blessing with both parents working full time. The therapy room is playful and bright. I would whole heartedly recommend Play and Say to anyone and everyone. Heather and Katie have been working with my son for years now and they are amazing. They are fun and sweet and work so hard to make things fun, but also challenge him to his max. Teaching a 4 year old with dyspraxia and hyperlexia how to move his body in a natural way is NOT EASY- and they go above and beyond to keep him happy and engaged (even when he's being a total pain!) He views these kind ladies as his friends and will ask me to text them or send them videos when he jumps extra high one day or is able to hop on one leg. Moreover, they go above and beyond advocating for him- providing me resources, doctors to consult for any concerns that I have. They are a wealth of information! My family members have commented, multiple times, how much more naturally my son moves and his physical progress. They helped me get him to eat vegetables on his own, where before he'd literally have a nervous breakdown at the mere thought of touching a piece of broccoli because of his fear of unpleasant textures. He's finally able to start keeping up with other kids on a playground, and can finally jump on a trampoline after years of being unable to. They're helping him live moments of childhood that should be happy for him and not stressful- and for that, I'm beyond thankful. Thanks to her physical therapist, via both weekly office visits and get suggested at home routine, by August, she was up and walking. It is now six months later, and we can barely catch her when she takes off. We've gotten detailed progress reports all along the way. As for the feeding, the therapy was invaluable in terms of types of foods, tricks, and techniques. We have since discontinued the feeding therapy, as after the first few months, what we learned has been effective and she has been eating the appropriate foods, and it now depends on her tastes. Personal relationships were built between she and both therapists. Her big sister, who's always along for the ride seems to know the whole crew as well. One thing that I've noticed that some people don't get is that these are therapists, each with an area of expertise. This being said, they are not physicians. They can offer insight and advice regarding your child's progress, but they are not licensed to provide a medical diagnosis. Further concerns should be addressed with your pediatrician. If there's one blemish, it's the parking situation. They share a fairly small parking lot with other offices in the building. While their is some street parking, when you're lugging in one or more children and infants, and the associated supplies, it's quite a pain. It's too bad, as right behind the office is the parking lot for something (auto shop?) that's always vacant, but parking there is prohibited. That part is by no means NSPT's fault, but it's too bad that they can't buy out a portion of that lot.

She was supposed to be helping us with daily living skills and she did none of that. We wasted about 8 or 9 months there and lots of $$. Stay away from Karen the BCBA and this whole place. Sweeney and Augustin is considered out of network and while they charged us 6K the insurance only counted 1200. Worse, it was considered out of network so even the 1200 simply went against the out of network deductible. This should have been avoided by doing a pre-authorization but something they didn't offer or encourage. They overpromised, hugely overcharged and didn't deliver.

Lino started Speech Therapy through Early Intervention in January 2025. At that time, he was using…read moresingle words, able to name pictures here and there, but couldn't even say "help" when I could see he was asking for it in his own way. His patience was short, which made communication tough. He also had delays with motor skills. He could hold utensils and knew they were for eating--he would bring them to his mouth--but he wasn't able to hold them strongly or in the correct way. After months of practice and support, he's now using utensils just fine, and I'm so proud of how far he's come. He began receiving Speech Therapy-Grace, Occupational Therapy-Madelyn, and Developmental Therapy-Shirley once a week. After 8 months of consistent therapy, the progress has been incredible. Lino is now able to make sentences, loves to sing, and can clearly say what he wants. His play skills have also grown--he enjoys playing with others and now involves people around him, which has been wonderful to see. We are especially grateful to his therapist, who has shown how much they truly care about Lino. The patience, dedication, and encouragement they've given him (and us as parents) mean so much. They don't just teach--they celebrate every small win with us, and that has made all the difference.
